Lord, you who are the Commander of the armies of angels, your temple is very beautiful!
2 Ọ na-agụsị mkpụrụobi m agụụ ike, e mkpụrụobi m na-adakwa mba, ịbata nʼogige Onyenwe anyị; mkpụrụobi m na anụ ahụ m na-eti mkpu na-achọ Chineke dị ndụ.
I [SYN] would like to be there; Yahweh, I desire that very much [DOU]. With all of my inner being I sing joyfully to you, the all-powerful God.
3 Ọ bụladị ụmụ nnụnụ nta nke eluigwe, achọtala ebe obibi; eleke achọtakwarala onwe ya akwụ, ebe ọ ga na-edebe ụmụ ya, nʼakụkụ ebe ịchụ aja nsọ gị, O Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile, Eze m na Chineke m.
Even sparrows and swallows have built nests [near your temple, where you protect them] [DOU]; they take care of their young babies near the altars [where people offer sacrifices to] you, who are the commander of the armies of heaven, and my king and my God.
4 Ndị a gọziri agọzi ka ndị bi nʼụlọ gị bụ; ha na-eto gị mgbe niile. (Sela)
(Happy are/You are pleased with) those who (live/continually worship) in your temple, constantly singing to praise you.
5 Ndị a gọziri agọzi ka ha bụ, bụ ndị ike ha nwere dị na gị, ndị kpebiri nʼobi ha ịga njem.
Happy are those who [know that] you are the one who causes them to be strong, those who strongly desire to (make the trip/go) to Zion [Hill].
6 Mgbe ha na-esite na Ndagwurugwu Baka na-agafe, ha na-eme ya ka ọ bụrụ ebe isi iyi dị iche iche na-asọpụta; mmiri ozuzo mbụ na-ewere ngọzị niile kpuchie ya.
While they travel through the [dry] Baca Valley, [you cause] it to become a place where there are springs of water, where the rains (in the autumn/before the cold season) fill the valley with pools of water.
7 Ike ha na-abawanye abawanye, tutu ha niile nʼotu na otu, abịa guzo nʼihu Chineke na Zayọn.
[As a result, those who travel through there] become stronger/refreshed [knowing that] they will appear in your presence (on Zion [Hill]/in Jerusalem).
8 O Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile, nụrụ ekpere m. Gee m ntị, gị Chineke nke Jekọb.
Yahweh, commander of the armies of heaven, listen to my prayer; God, who [is worshiped by us (descendants of] Jacob/Israeli people), hear [IDM] what I am saying!
9 Lekwasị anya nʼọta anyị, O Chineke, jiri ihuọma lekwasị onye gị e tere mmanụ anya.
God, be kind to [IDM] our king, the one who protects us [MTY], the one whom you have chosen [MTY] [to rule us].
10 Otu mkpụrụ ụbọchị a nọrọ nʼime ogige gị, karịrị puku ụbọchị a nọrọ ebe ọzọ; ọ ga-akara m mma ịbụ onye nche nʼọnụ ụzọ ụlọnsọ Chineke m, karịa ibi nʼụlọ ikwu nke ndị ajọ omume.
[For me], spending one day in your temple is better than spending 1,000 days somewhere else; [standing] at the entrance to your temple, [ready to go inside], is better than living in the tents/homes where wicked [people live].
11 Onyenwe anyị Chineke bụ anyanwụ na ọta; Onyenwe anyị na-enye ihuọma na nsọpụrụ; ọ naghị egbochi ihe ọma ọbụla site nʼebe ndị na-eje ije nʼizuoke nọ.
Yahweh our God is [like] the sun [that shines on us] and [like] a shield [that protects us] [MET]; he is kind to [us] and honors [us]. Yahweh does not refuse to give any good thing/blessing to those who do what is right.
12 O Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile, ngọzị na-adịrị ndị niile na-atụkwasị gị obi.
Yahweh, commander of the armies of heaven, (happy are/you are pleased with) those who trust in you!
