1 Abụ Ọma nke dịrị onyeisi Abụ. Ọ bụ olu abụ eji ekwe “Okoko lili nke Ọgbụgba Ndụ.” Abụ miktam nke Devid maka izi ihe. Mgbe ọ lụsoro Aram Naharaim na Aram Zoba ọgụ, nakwa mgbe Joab lọghachitara, tigbuo narị ndị Edọm iri nʼabụọ na Ndagwurugwu Nnu. O Chineke, ị jụla anyị, ị tịwawo anyị nʼike; i wesola anyị iwe, ugbu a, kpọghachi anyị.
“For the leader of the music; upon the Shushan-Eduth; a psalm of David for instruction; when he was at strife with the Syrians of Mesopotamia, and the Syrians of Zoba; when Joab returned, and smote twelve thousand Edomites in the valley of Salt.” O God! thou hast forsaken us; thou hast broken us in pieces; Thou hast been angry! O revive us again!
2 I meela ka ala a maa jijiji, ị dọwakwala ya; mezie ntiwa ya niile, nʼihi na ọ na-ama jijiji.
Thou hast made the land tremble; thou hast rent it; O heal its breaches, for it tottereth!
3 I meela ka ndị gị gabiga ọnọdụ ihe isi ike; i nyela anyị mmanya nke mere ka anyị na-adagharị.
Thou hast caused thy people to see hard things; Thou hast made us drink the wine of reeling.
4 Ma nye ndị na-atụ egwu gị, i weliela otu ọkọlọtọ nke a ga-agbasa nʼihi eziokwu imegide ụta nke ndị iro. (Sela)
Lift up a banner for them that fear thee, For the sake of thy faithfulness, that they may escape!
5 Were aka nri gị zọpụta anyị ma nyere anyị aka, ka a gbapụta ndị ị hụrụ nʼanya.
That thy beloved may be delivered, Save with thy right hand, and answer me!
6 Chineke esitela nʼịdị nsọ ya kwuo, sị, “Nʼọnọdụ ọṅụ nke mmeri, aga m ekesa Shekem, tụkwaa Ndagwurugwu Sukọt nʼihe ọtụtụ nyepụ ya.
God promiseth in his holiness; I will rejoice; I shall yet divide Shechem, And measure out the valley of Succoth.
7 Gilead bụ nke m, otu a kwa, Manase bụkwa nke m; Ifrem bụ okpu igwe m, Juda bụ mkpara eze m.
Gilead shall be mine, and mine Manasseh; Ephraim shall be my helmet, And Judah my sceptre;
8 Moab bụ efere ịkwọ aka m, aga m atụsa akpụkpọụkwụ m nʼelu Edọm; nʼelu isi Filistia, ana m eti mkpu mmeri.”
Moab shall be my wash-bowl; Upon Edom shall I cast my shoe; I shall triumph over Philistia!
9 Onye ga-akpọrọ m gaa nʼobodo e wusiri ike? Onye ga-edu m gaa Edọm?
Who will bring me to the strong city? Who will lead me into Edom?
10 Ọ bụghị gị, O Chineke? Gị onye jụrụ anyị, onye na-adịghị esokwa ndị agha anyị aga agha?
Wilt not thou, O God! who didst forsake us, And didst not go forth with our armies?
11 Nyere anyị aka ka anyị pụọ nʼaka ndị iro, nʼihi na inyeaka mmadụ bụ ihe efu.
Give us thine aid in our distress, For vain is the help of man!
12 Site na Chineke, anyị ga-enwe mmeri, ọ ga-azọpịa ndị iro anyị niile nʼala.
Through God we shall do valiantly; For he will tread down our enemies.
