< Abụ Ọma 43 >
1 O Chineke, kpepụta m, kpechitere m ikpe m nʼebe mba na-amaghị Chineke nọ; gbapụta m site nʼaka ndị ajọ omume na ndị aghụghọ.
Right me, defend my cause against a pitiless people. From the crafty and crooked, O God, deliver me.
2 Ị bụ Chineke, ebe m e wusiri ike. Gịnị mere i ji jụ m? Gịnị mere m ga-eji na-ejegharị nʼiru ụjụ, nʼihi mmegbu nke onye iro?
For you are God my protector: why have you cast me off? Why must I walk so sadly, so hard pressed by the foe?
3 Zipụ ìhè gị na eziokwu gị, ka ha duo m; ka ha kpọbata m nʼugwu nsọ gị, bụ ebe i bi.
Send forth your light and your truth, let them be my guides: to your holy hill let them bring me, to the place where you live.
4 Mgbe ahụ, aga m aga nʼebe ịchụ aja Chineke, gakwuru Chineke, bụ ọṅụ m na obi ụtọ m. Aga m eji ụbọ akwara too gị, O Chineke, bụ Chineke m.
Then will I go to God’s altar, to God my rejoicing; and with joy on the lyre I will praise you, O God, my God.
5 O mkpụrụobi m, gịnị mere i ji daa mba? Gịnị mere i ji na-asụ ude nʼime m? Nwee olileanya na Chineke, nʼihi na m ka ga-eto ya ọzọ, onye Nzọpụta m na Chineke m.
Why am I downcast? Why this moaning within me? Hope in God; for yet will I praise him, my help, my God.
