< Abụ Ọma 38 >
1 Abụ Ọma Devid. Arịrịọ. Biko, Onyenwe anyị, abarala m mba nʼiwe, maọbụ taa m ahụhụ mgbe iwe gị dị ọkụ.
Yahweh, when you are angry [with me], do not rebuke/scold me and punish me!
2 Nʼihi na àkụ gị niile amapuola m ahụ, aka gị adakwasịkwala m, dịka ọ bụ ọkpọ.
[Now it is as though] you have shot your arrows at me and wounded me; you have struck me and knocked me down.
3 Nʼihi oke iwe gị, ọ dịghị izuoke dị nʼime anụ ahụ; enweghịkwa m udo nʼime ọkpụkpụ m niile nʼihi mmehie m.
Because you have been angry with me, I am suffering great pain. Because of my sin, my whole body is diseased.
4 Mmetụta ikpe ọmụma m na-adakwasị m dịka ibu arọ nke dị arọ karịa m.
All my sins are [like a flood] that covers my head; they are like a load that is very heavy, with the result that I cannot carry it.
5 Ọnya m na-ere ure na-asọ oyi nʼihi mmehie enweghị uche m.
Because I have done foolish things, I have sores that have become worse, and they stink.
6 Abụ m onye a nyidara ma kwatukwaa nʼala ogologo ụbọchị niile, ana m agagharị nʼiru ụjụ.
[Sometimes] I am bent over, and [sometimes] I lie prostrate; I am sad/cry all day.
7 Azụ na-egbu m mgbu nke ukwuu ahụ adịghịkwa m.
My body is burning with fever, and I am very ill.
8 Ume ọbụla adịghịkwa nʼime. Adị m ka onye e gwepịara egwepịa. Ana m asụ ude nʼihi oke ihe mgbu nke obi.
I am completely exhausted, and I have no strength. I am very distressed, and I groan with pain.
9 O Onyenwe m, ị maara agụụ niile nke na-agụ obi m; ịsụ ude m ezokwaghị ezo nʼebe ị nọ.
Yahweh, you know that I desire [to be healed]; you hear me while I am groaning.
10 Obi na-alọ m mmiri, ike na-agwụkwa m, ìhè esitekwala nʼanya m pụọ.
My heat is pounding heavily, and all my strength is gone. I am no longer able to see well.
11 Ndị m hụrụ nʼanya na ndị enyi m na-asọ m oyi nʼihi ọnya m, ndị agbataobi m na-anọ m ebe dị anya.
My friends and neighbors stay away from me because of my sores; even my own family stays away from me.
12 Ndị na-achọ igbu m na-esiri m ọnya, ndị ahụ chọrọ imerụ m ahụ na-ekwu maka ihe dakwasịrị m; ogologo ụbọchị niile ha na-agba izuzu aghụghọ.
And those who want to kill me set traps to catch me; those who want to harm me discuss ways to get rid of me; they plot against me all day.
13 Adị m ka onye ntị chiri, onye na-apụghị ịnụ ihe ọbụla, dịka onye ogbu, onye na-apụghị imeghe ọnụ ya.
Now I act like I’m deaf, and do not listen [to what they say]. I act like I cannot talk, so I say nothing [to reply to them].
14 Adịla m dịka onye na-anaghị anụ ihe, onye ọnụ ya apụghị ịsa okwu.
I act like a man who does not answer [when people talk to him], because he cannot hear anything.
15 O Onyenwe anyị, ana m eche gị; o Onyenwe m Chineke m, ị ga-aza.
But Yahweh, I trust in you. My Lord God, you will answer me.
16 Nʼihi na asịrị m, “Ekwela ka ha ṅụrịa ọṅụ nʼisi m; maọbụ bulie onwe ha elu nʼebe m nọ mgbe ụkwụ m na-agbuchapụ.”
I said to you, “Do not cause [me to die, with the result that] my enemies will rejoice! Do not cause me to stumble, with the result that they will be very happy!”
17 Nʼihi na lee, ana m achọ ịda ada. Anọkwa m nʼọnọdụ oke mgbu.
I say that because I am about to fall down, and I constantly have pain.
18 Ana m ekwupụta mmehie m; mmehie m na-ewute m.
I confess the wrong things that I have done; I am [very] sorry for the sins that I have committed.
19 Ndị iro m, ndị na-eme ihe ike dị ọtụtụ, ndị na-akpọ m asị, na-enweghị ihe m mere, bara ụba.
My enemies are healthy and strong; there are many people who hate me for no reason.
20 Ndị na-eji ihe ọjọọ akwụghachi m ezi ihe, na-ebo ebubo megide m nʼagbanyeghị na m na-achọ ime naanị ezi ihe.
Those who do evil things to me in return for my doing good things to them oppose me because I try to do what is right.
21 O Onyenwe anyị, ahapụkwala m; O Chineke m, anọkwala m ebe dị anya.
Yahweh, do not abandon me! My God, do not stay far from me!
22 Bịa ọsịịsọ inyere m aka Onyenwe m na Onye nzọpụta m.
Lord, you are the one who saves/rescues me; Quickly [come and] help me!
