1 Abụ Ọma. Abụ nke ido obieze Devid nsọ. Aga m eto gị, O Onyenwe anyị, nʼihi na i sitere nʼebe dị omimi dọpụta m. I kweghị ka ndị iro m chịa m ọchị.
Yahweh, I praise you because you rescued me. You did not allow [me to die], [with the result that] my enemies could gloat/rejoice.
2 O Onyenwe anyị Chineke m, akpọkuru m gị, ka i nyere m aka, ị gwọkwara m.
Yahweh, my God, I called out for you to help [me when I was ill], and you healed me.
3 O Onyenwe anyị, i si nʼala ili kpọpụta m, i mere ka m dịrị ndụ. (Sheol )
You saved/restored me when I was dying [MTY]. I was nearly dead, but you caused me to get well again. (Sheol )
4 Bụkuonụ Onyenwe anyị abụ, unu ndị nsọ ya, toonu aha nsọ ya.
All you who belong to Yahweh, sing praise to him! Think about what [God], the holy one, has done, and thank him!
5 Iwe ya adịghị adịgide tee anya, ma ime amara ya na-adị ruo ebighị ebi! Ịkwa akwa nwere ike dịrị ogologo abalị niile, ma iti mkpu ọṅụ ga-adị nʼụtụtụ.
When he becomes angry, he is angry for only a very short time [HYP], but he is good [to us] all of our life. We may cry during the night, but the next morning we will be joyful.
6 Mgbe m nọ nʼudo, asịrị m, “Ihe ọbụla apụghị ịnapụ m udo m.”
As for me, when I had no troubles, I said [to myself], “No one will defeat me!”
7 O Onyenwe anyị, mgbe i gosiri m ihuọma, i mere ka m kwụrụ chịm dịka ugwu; ma mgbe i zoro ihu gị site nʼebe m nọ, adara m mba.
Yahweh, because you were good to me, at first you caused me to be safe [as though I was inside] [MET] a mountain. But then [I became ill, and I thought that] you had turned away from me, and I became afraid.
8 Ọ bụ gị, Onyenwe anyị, ka m kpọkuru; ọ bụkwa onyenwe anyị ka m rịọrọ arịrịọ amara sị,
[Then] I called out to you, and I pleaded for you [to help me].
9 “Uru gịnị dị ma m laa nʼiyi? Uru gịnị dị ma m rịda nʼili? Uzuzu aja ọ ga-enye gị otuto? Ọ ga-ekwusa banyere ikwesi ntụkwasị obi gị?”
[I said], “Yahweh, (what will you gain if I die?/ you won’t gain anything if I die) [MTY]. (In what way will it benefit you?/it won’t benefit you at all) if I go to the place where the dead people are [RHQ]. Dead people are certainly not able to praise you [RHQ], and they are not able to tell others that you are trustworthy [RHQ]!
10 O Onyenwe anyị, gee m ntị ma meere m ebere; O Onyenwe anyị, bụụrụ m onye inyeaka.
Yahweh, listen to me, and be merciful to me! Yahweh, help me!”
11 I meela ka iti mkpu akwa m ghọọ ite egwu; ị napụrụ m akwa mkpe m, ma yinye m ọṅụ dịka akwa mmemme.
But [now you have healed me], and you have caused me to change from being sad to dancing [joyfully]. You have taken away the clothes that showed that I was very sad and you have given me clothes that showed that I was [very] joyful.
12 I mere nke a ka obi m bụọ maka otuto gị, ghara ịnọ nwayọọ. O Onyenwe anyị Chineke m, aga m eto gị ruo mgbe ebighị ebi.
So I will not be silent; I will sing out [loudly] to praise you. Yahweh, you are my God, and I will thank you forever.
