1 Abụ nrigo. Site na mgbe m bụ nwantakịrị, ha kpagburu m ọtụtụ oge, ka Izrel kwuo.

A Song of Ascents. Many a time, have they harassed me from my youth, well may Israel say:

2 “Site na mgbe m bụ nwantakịrị, ha kpagburu m ọtụtụ oge, ma ha enweghị ike merie m.

Many a time, have they harassed me from youth, yet have they not prevailed against me.

3 Ndị ikom na-akọ ubi akọgharịala azụ m dịka ala ubi, mee ebe ha kọrọ akọ ka ọ dị ogologo.

Upon my back, have ploughmen ploughed, They have lengthened their furrow!

4 Ma Onyenwe anyị bụ onye ezi omume; ọ tọpụla m site nʼagbụ niile nke ndị ajọ omume.”

Yahweh, is righteous, He hath cut asunder the cords of the lawless.

5 Ka ndị niile kpọrọ Zayọn asị bụrụ ndị ga-alaghachi azụ nʼihere.

Let all who hate Zion, be ashamed and shrink back:

6 Ka ha niile dịrị ka ahịhịa na-epu nʼelu ụlọ nke na-akpọnwụ tupu o pupụta;

Let them become like the grass of housetops, which, before it is pulled up, hath withered;

7 nke onye na-ewe ihe ubi na-adịghị eji ha kpojuo aka ya abụọ, maọbụ onye mkpokọta e nwee ike kpojuo aka ya.

Wherewith no reaper, hath filled his hand, nor binder, his bosom:

8 Ka ndị si nʼụzọ na-agafe hapụ ị sị ha, “Ngọzị Onyenwe anyị dịrị unu. Anyị na-agọzi unu nʼaha Onyenwe anyị.”

Neither have the passers-by ever said, The blessing of Yahweh, be unto you, —We have blessed you in the Name of Yahweh.
