< Abụ Ọma 120 >

1 Abụ nrigo. Ana m akpọku Onyenwe anyị nʼime nsogbu m, ọ na-azakwa m.
IN my distress I cried unto the Lord, and he heard me.
2 O Onyenwe anyị, zọpụta m site nʼegbugbere ọnụ okwu ụgha na ire na-ekwu okwu aghụghọ.
Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue.
3 Gịnị ka a ga-eme gị, ọ bụkwa gịnị ọzọ ka a gatụkwasịri gị, gị ire aghụghọ?
What shall be given unto thee? or what shall be done unto thee, thou false tongue?
4 Ọ ga-eji àkụ dị nkọ nke dike nʼagha taa gị ahụhụ, ya na icheku ọkụ osisi brum na-ere ere.
Sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of juniper.
5 Ahụhụ dịịrị m nʼihi na m bi na Meshek, nʼihi na m bikwa nʼetiti ụlọ ikwu ndị Keda!
Woe is me, that I sojourn in Mesech, that I dwell in the tents of Kedar!
6 Ogologo oge ka m binyere ndị kpọrọ udo asị.
My soul hath long dwelt with him that hateth peace.
7 Abụ m onye udo; ma mgbe m kwuru okwu, okwu ha bụ okwu agha.
I am for peace: but when I speak, they are for war.
