Abụ Ọma 12

1 Abụ Ọma nke dịrị onyeisi abụ. Nʼusoro Sheminit. Abụ Ọma nke Devid. Onyenwe anyị, nyere anyị aka! Nʼihi na ndị ezi omume agwụla! Ndị kwesiri ntụkwasị obi anọkwaghị nʼetiti ụmụ mmadụ.

Yahweh, help us! [It seems that] people who are loyal to you have all vanished.

2 O nwekwaghị onye eziokwu dị nʼọnụ ya nye onye agbataobi ya. Egbugbere ọnụ onye ọbụla na-ekwukwa okwu ire ụtọ, maọbụ aghụghọ dị nʼobi ha.

Everyone tells lies to other people; they deceive others by (flattering them/saying good things about them that they know are not true).

3 Ka Onyenwe anyị wezuga egbugbere ọnụ niile na-ekwu okwu ire ụtọ na ire niile na-ekwu okwu ịnya isi.

Yahweh, we wish that you would cut off their tongues so that they cannot continue to boast.

4 Ndị na-asị, “Ọ bụ site nʼire anyị ka anyị ga-enwe mmeri; egbugbere ọnụ anyị ga-echebe anyị, ọ bụ onye na-achị anyị?”

They say, “By telling lies we will get what we want; we control what we say [MTY], so no one can tell us what we should not do!”

5 “Nʼihi na a na-apụnara ndị ogbenye ihe nʼihi ndị nọ na mkpa na-asụ ude, aga m ebili ugbu a, ka Onyenwe anyị kwuru. Aga m zọpụta ha pụọ nʼaka ndị ahụ ji iwe ekwulu ha.”

But Yahweh replies, “I have seen the violent things that they have done to helpless people; and I have heard those people groaning, so I will arise and rescue the people who are wanting me to help them.”

6 Okwu ọnụ Onyenwe anyị niile zuruoke, ha dịka ọlaọcha a nụchara nʼọkụ, nke a nụchara ugboro asaa.

Yahweh, you always do what you have promised to do; what you have promised is [as precious and pure as] silver that has been heated seven times in a furnace [to get rid of all the] impure material.

7 O Onyenwe anyị, i ga-edebe anyị nʼudo ma sitekwa nʼaka ndị dị otu a chebe anyị ruo mgbe ebighị ebi.

Wicked people strut around [proudly], and people praise them for doing vile/wicked deeds, but Yahweh, [we know that] you will protect/rescue us from those wicked people.

8 Ndị ajọ omume na-ejegharị nʼebe niile mgbe a na-eto ihe ọjọọ nʼetiti ụmụ mmadụ.
