1 Onye a na-abara mba mgbe niile ma ọ naghị anata ndụmọdụ, nʼotu ntabi anya ka a ga-etipịa ya, ọ gaghị ekulikwa ọzọ.
He, that being often reproved hardens his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.
2 Mgbe ndị ezi omume nọ nʼọchịchị, ndị a na-achị na-aṅụrị ọṅụ, ma ha na-asụ ude mgbe onye ajọ omume na-achị.
When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked bears rule, the people mourn.
3 Nwoke hụrụ amamihe nʼanya na-eme ka nna ṅụrịa, ma onye bụ enyi ụmụ nwanyị akwụna, na-ala akụnụba ya nʼiyi.
Whoever loves wisdom rejoices his father: but he that keeps company with harlots spends his substance.
4 Eze na-achị nʼeziokwu na-ewetara obodo ya ọganihu, ma nke na-achọ ngarị na-ala ya nʼiyi.
The king by judgment establishes the land: but he that receives gifts overthrows it.
5 Onye ahụ ji ire ụtọ na-aja onye agbataobi ya mma bụ ọnya ka ọ na-esiri ya.
A man that flatters his neighbor spreads a net for his feet.
6 Ọ bụ onye ajọ omume siri ọnya ka ọnya ahụ na-ama. Ma ndị ezi omume na-anọrọ onwe ha na-agụ egwu ọṅụ.
In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous does sing and rejoice.
7 Onye ezi omume na-etinye anya nʼihe banyere ikpe ziri ezi nke ndị ogbenye, ma ụdị echiche ahụ adịghị abata ndị ajọ omume nʼobi.
The righteous considers the cause of the poor: but the wicked regards not to know it.
8 Ndị nzuzu na-amalite ọgụ ebe niile, ma ndị nwere uche na-agbalịsị ike ime ka udo dị.
Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath.
9 Ọ bụrụ na onye maara ihe esoro onye nzuzu gaa nʼụlọikpe, onye nzuzu ga-ewe iwe ọkụ, mee mkpọtụ, kwaa emo ma udo agaghị adị.
If a wise man contends with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.
10 Ndị ndụ ha na-ebi bụ ime ihe ike na-akpọ onye eziokwu asị, ha na-achọsikwa ike ụzọ ha ga-esi gbuo onye ndụ ya ziri ezi.
The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul.
11 Onye nzuzu na-egosi oke iwe ya, ma onye nwere uche na-ejide onwe ya na-emekwa ka mmụọ ya dajụọ.
A fool utters all his mind: but a wise man keeps it in till afterwards.
12 Ọ bụrụ na onye na-achị achị aṅaa ntị nʼokwu ụgha, ndị niile na-ejere ya ozi ga-aghọ ndị ajọ omume.
If a ruler listen to lies, all his servants are wicked.
13 Ogbenye na ọgaranya bụ otu na nke a: ọ bụ Onyenwe anyị na-eme ka ha jiri anya ha na-ahụ ụzọ.
The poor and the deceitful man meet together: the LORD lightens both their eyes.
14 Ọ bụrụ na eze esite nʼizi ezi kpee ndị ogbenye ikpe, a ga-eme ka ocheeze ya guzosie ike ruo mgbe ebighị ebi.
The king that faithfully judges the poor, his throne shall be established for ever.
15 Ịba mba na iti nwantakịrị ihe na-enye aka mee ka ọ bụrụ ezi nwa, ma nwantakịrị a na-adịghị adụ ọdụ na-eme nne ya ihe ihere.
The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself brings his mother to shame.
16 Mgbe ndị na-emebi iwu na-aga nʼihu, njehie na-aba ụba nʼetiti ndị a na-achị achị, ma ndị ezi omume ga-eguzo hụ ọdịda ha.
When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increases: but the righteous shall see their fall.
17 Dọọ nwa gị aka na ntị, ndụ ya ga-enye obi gị udo na ọṅụ. Ọ gaghị emekwa ka ihere mee gị.
Correct your son, and he shall give you rest; yes, he shall give delight to your soul.
18 Obodo na-adịghị atụ egwu Chineke bụ obodo na-adịghị agazi nʼusoro, ma ọṅụ na-adịrị obodo ahụ na-edebe ihe Onyenwe anyị nyere nʼiwu.
Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keeps the law, happy is he.
19 Ọ bụghị naanị okwu ọnụ ka e ji adọ ndị na-eje ozi aka na ntị, nʼihi na ha nwere ike ghọta ma ha ga-ajụ ime ihe ị chọrọ.
A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understand he will not answer.
20 Olileanya dịrị onye nzuzu karịa onye ahụ na-adịghị echezi echiche tupu o kwuo okwu.
See you a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him.
21 Ị malite na mbụ na-emezi onye na-ejere gị ozi, ọ ga-emesịa chọọ ka i meere ya dịka nwa gị.
He that delicately brings up his servant from a child shall have him become his son at the length.
22 Onye na-ewe iwe na-akpali ọgụ, onye na-ewe iwe ọkụ na-eme ọtụtụ mmehie.
An angry man stirs up strife, and a furious man abounds in transgression.
23 Nganga mmadụ na-eme ka ọ daa, ma mmadụ ahụ dị umeala nʼobi ga-eweta nsọpụrụ.
A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honor shall uphold the humble in spirit.
24 Ndị ọbụla na-enyere ndị ohi aka bụ ndị iro nke ndụ ha, a na-edu ha nʼịṅụ iyi, ma ha adịghị agba akaebe.
Whoever is partner with a thief hates his own soul: he hears cursing, and denudes it not.
25 Ịtụ egwu mmadụ bụ ihe ịma nʼọnya, ma onye ọbụla na-atụkwasị Onyenwe anyị obi na-anọ nʼudo.
The fear of man brings a snare: but whoever puts his trust in the LORD shall be safe.
26 Ị chọrọ ikpe ziri ezi? Elela onye ikpe anya nʼihu, kama gwa Onyenwe anyị maka ya.
Many seek the ruler’s favor; but every man’s judgment comes from the LORD.
27 Onye ezi omume na-akpọ ajọ omume asị; ndị na-emebi iwu na-akpọ onye ndụ ya ziri ezi asị.
An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.
