< Ilu 14 >

1 Nwanyị maara ihe na-ewu ụlọ ya, ma nwanyị nzuzu na-eji aka ya akwada ụlọ ya.
Every, wise woman, buildeth up her house, but, a foolish one, with her own hands, would break it down.
2 Ime ihe ziri ezi bụ ịtụ egwu Onyenwe anyị; ma ndị na-ejehie nʼụzọ ha na-akpọ ya asị.
He that walketh in his uprightness, is one who revereth Yahweh, but, he that is crooked in his way, is one who despiseth him.
3 Ọnụ onye nzuzu na-ekwupụta okwu mpako, ma egbugbere ọnụ onye maara ihe na-echebe ha.
In the mouth of the foolish, is a haughty rod, but, as for the lips of the wise, thou shalt give heed to them!
4 Mgbe ehi na-adịghị, ụlọ ebe a na-azụ anụ na-adị ọcha, ma site nʼike ehi ihe omume nke ubi na-ejupụta nʼụlọ.
Without cattle, the crib is clean, but, much increase, is in the strength of the ox.
5 Onye akaebe eziokwu adịghị aghọgbu mmadụ, ma onye akaebe ụgha na-agha ụgha mgbe ọbụla.
A faithful witness, will not deceive, but a false witness, uttereth deceitful things.
6 Onye na-akwa emo na-achọ amamihe ma ọ dịghị achọta ya; ma ihe ọmụma na-abịara onye nwere nghọta ọsịịsọ.
A scoffer seeketh wisdom, and there is none, but, knowledge, to the discerning, is easy.
7 Si nʼebe onye nzuzu wezuga onwe gị, nʼihi na ị gaghị achọta ihe ọmụma nʼọnụ ya.
Get thee from the presence of a man that is a dullard, when thou perceivest not the lips of knowledge.
8 Amamihe nke onye nwere uche bụ ihe na-eme ka ọ mata ebe ọ na-aga, ma enweghị uche nke ndị nzuzu bụ aghụghọ.
The wisdom of the prudent, is to understand his way, but, the folly of dullards, is a fraud.
9 Ndị nzuzu na-eji okwu idozi ihe mmehie mebiri akwa emo; ma obi ebere ka a na-achọta nʼetiti ndị omume ha ziri ezi.
the foolish, scoff at guilt, but, between the upright, is good pleasure.
10 Ọ bụ naanị onye ihe na-eme maara ụfụ ya, ọ dịghị onye ọzọ ga-eso keta ọṅụ ya.
The heart, knoweth its own bitterness, and, in its joy, no stranger shareth.
11 A ga-ala ụlọ onye ajọ omume nʼiyi, ma ụlọ ikwu onye omume ya ziri ezi ga-awasa ka igu.
The house of the lawless, shall be destroyed, but, the tent of the upright, shall flourish.
12 Ọ dị ụzọ nke ziri ezi nʼanya mmadụ, ma nʼikpeazụ ọ na-eduba nʼọnwụ.
There is a way that enticeth a man, but, at the latter end thereof, are the ways of death!
13 Ọ bụladị nʼime ọchị obi mgbu na-adị, ma ọṅụ nwere ike kwụsị nʼiru ụjụ.
Even, in laughter, the heart may be in pain, and, the latter end of gladness, be grief.
14 Ndị na-ekwesighị ntụkwasị obi aghaghị inweta ụgwọ ọrụ ha, ma ezi mmadụ ga-enwetakwa ụgwọ ọrụ ya.
With his own ways, shall be filled the backslider in heart, and, from himself, shall a good man [be satisfied].
15 Onye na-enweghị uche na-ekwenye ihe niile a gwara ya; ma onye nwere uche na-atule mara ebe ọ na-eje.
The simple, believeth every word, but, the prudent, looketh well to his going.
16 Onye mara ihe na-atụ egwu Onyenwe anyị na-ewezugakwa onwe ya nʼihe ọjọọ, ma onye nzuzu na-ewebiga iwe oke ma na-eche na ọ ka bụ onye kwesiri ntụkwasị obi.
A wise man, feareth, and avoideth evil, but, a dullard, is haughty and confident.
17 Onye iwe ọkụ na-eme ihe nzuzu, ma onye na-echepụta nzube ọjọọ ka a na-akpọ asị.
The impatient, worketh folly, and, a man of wicked devices, is hated.
18 Ndị na-enweghị uche na-enweta ụgwọ ọrụ nke uche gbagọrọ agbagọ, ma onye nwere uche na-enweta ihe ọmụma.
The simple inherit folly, but, the shrewd, crowneth himself with knowledge.
19 Ndị ọjọọ ga-akpọ isiala nʼihu ndị ezi mmadụ, ndị ajọ omume ga-ada nʼọnụ ụzọ ama ndị ezi omume.
Abased are the wicked, before the good, and, the lawless, at the gates of the righteous.
20 Ọ bụladị ndị agbataobi onye ogbenye na-akpọ ya asị, ma ọgaranya na-enwe ọtụtụ ndị enyi.
Even by his neighbour, is a poor man hated, but, the lovers of the rich man, are many.
21 Onye na-eleda onye agbataobi ya anya na-emehie, ma onye na-emere ndị ogbenye ebere ka ihe ga-agara nke ọma.
He that sheweth contempt for his neighbour, sinneth, but, he that sheweth favour to the afflicted, how happy is he!
22 Ndị na-ezube ihe ọjọọ, ha ọ naghị akpafu? Ma ndị na-ezube ihe ọma na-achọta ịhụnanya na ikwesi ntụkwasị obi.
Shall they not, become vagrants, who devise evil? but, lovingkindness and faithfulness, [be to] them who devise good.
23 Ịrụsị ọrụ ike na-eweta uru; ma oke okwu na-eweta ụkpa.
By all labour, there will be abundance, but, the talk of the lips, tendeth only to want.
24 Okpueze nke ndị maara ihe bụ akụnụba ha, ma enweghị uche nke ndị nzuzu na-emepụta naanị ihe na-abaghị uru.
the crown of the wise, is their wealth, but, the folly of dullards, is, folly.
25 Onye na-agba akaebe eziokwu na-anapụta ndụ mmadụ, ma onye akaebe ụgha bụ onye aghụghọ.
A deliverer of souls, is a faithful witness, but, he that uttereth falsehoods, is a fraud.
26 Onye ọbụla na-atụ egwu Onyenwe anyị nwere ebe mgbaba; nye ụmụ ya ọ ga-abụkwa ebe ize ndụ.
In the reverence of Yahweh, is strong security, and, his children, shall have a place of refuge.
27 Ịtụ egwu Onyenwe anyị bụ isi iyi nke ndụ; nke na-eme ka mmadụ ghara ịma nʼọnya ọnwụ.
The reverence of Yahweh, is a well-spring of life, that a man may avoid the snares of death.
28 Otuto onye eze na-enwe dabeere nʼọnụọgụgụ ndị ọ na-achị, e wezuga ndị ọ na-achị, eze enweghị ugwu ọbụla.
In the multitude of a people, is the majesty of the king, but, in the ceasing of population, is the ruin of the prince.
29 Onye na-enwe ndidi nwere ọtụtụ nghọta, ma onye obi ọkụ na-egosi enweghị uche ya.
One slow to anger, hath great understanding, but, the hasty in spirit, exalteth folly.
30 Ndụ dị jụụ na-eme ka ụbọchị mmadụ dị ogologo; ekworo na-eme ka o ree ure.
The life of the whole body, is a tranquil mind, but, a decay of the bones, is jealousy.
31 Onye ọbụla na-emegbu onye ogbenye na-elelị Chineke kere ha anya, ma onye na-emere onye ogbenye ebere na-asọpụrụ Chineke.
The oppressor of the poor, hath reproached his Maker, but he that sheweth favour to the needy, is one who, holdeth Him in honour.
32 Ọ bụladị nʼọnwụ onye ezi omume nwere ebe mgbaba nʼime Chineke, ma ndị ajọ omume na-ala nʼiyi, mgbe mbibi bịara.
By his own wickedness, shall the lawless man, be thrust down, but the righteous, seeketh refuge in his integrity.
33 Nʼobi onye nwere nghọta ka amamihe na-anọgide, ma ọ bụladị nʼetiti ndị nzuzu ọ na-eme ka amara ya.
In the heart of the intelligent, reposeth wisdom, but, in the midst of dullards, it maketh itself known.
34 Ezi omume na-ewuli mba elu, ma mmehie bụ ihe ihere nye ndị ọbụla.
Righteousness, exalteth a nation, but, a reproach to any people, is sin.
35 Eze na-aṅụrị ọṅụ nʼihi odibo maara ihe; ma odibo na-eweta ihere na-akpali oke iwe ya.
The good-pleasure of a king, is due to a servant who is discreet, but, his indignation, shall be against him that bringeth shame.
