1 Nwanyị maara ihe na-ewu ụlọ ya, ma nwanyị nzuzu na-eji aka ya akwada ụlọ ya.
A wise woman builds up her household. But a foolish one will pull down with her own hands what has been built up.
2 Ime ihe ziri ezi bụ ịtụ egwu Onyenwe anyị; ma ndị na-ejehie nʼụzọ ha na-akpọ ya asị.
One who walks on a virtuous journey, and who fears God, is despised by him who advances along a disreputable way.
3 Ọnụ onye nzuzu na-ekwupụta okwu mpako, ma egbugbere ọnụ onye maara ihe na-echebe ha.
In the mouth of the foolish, there is a rod of arrogance. But the lips of the wise guard them.
4 Mgbe ehi na-adịghị, ụlọ ebe a na-azụ anụ na-adị ọcha, ma site nʼike ehi ihe omume nke ubi na-ejupụta nʼụlọ.
Where there are no oxen, the feeding trough is empty. But where there are many crops, there the strength of the ox is manifest.
5 Onye akaebe eziokwu adịghị aghọgbu mmadụ, ma onye akaebe ụgha na-agha ụgha mgbe ọbụla.
A faithful witness will not lie. But a deceitful witness offers a lie.
6 Onye na-akwa emo na-achọ amamihe ma ọ dịghị achọta ya; ma ihe ọmụma na-abịara onye nwere nghọta ọsịịsọ.
A mocker seeks wisdom and does not find it. The doctrine of the prudent is accessible.
7 Si nʼebe onye nzuzu wezuga onwe gị, nʼihi na ị gaghị achọta ihe ọmụma nʼọnụ ya.
Go against a foolish man, and he does not acknowledge lips of prudence.
8 Amamihe nke onye nwere uche bụ ihe na-eme ka ọ mata ebe ọ na-aga, ma enweghị uche nke ndị nzuzu bụ aghụghọ.
The wisdom of a discerning man is to understand his way. And the imprudence of the foolish is to be wandering astray.
9 Ndị nzuzu na-eji okwu idozi ihe mmehie mebiri akwa emo; ma obi ebere ka a na-achọta nʼetiti ndị omume ha ziri ezi.
The foolish will speak mockingly of sin. But grace lingers among the just.
10 Ọ bụ naanị onye ihe na-eme maara ụfụ ya, ọ dịghị onye ọzọ ga-eso keta ọṅụ ya.
The heart that knows the bitterness of its own soul, in its gladness the outsider shall not meddle.
11 A ga-ala ụlọ onye ajọ omume nʼiyi, ma ụlọ ikwu onye omume ya ziri ezi ga-awasa ka igu.
The house of the impious will be wiped away. Yet truly, the tabernacles of the just shall spring forth.
12 Ọ dị ụzọ nke ziri ezi nʼanya mmadụ, ma nʼikpeazụ ọ na-eduba nʼọnwụ.
There is a way which seems just to a man, but its conclusion leads to death.
13 Ọ bụladị nʼime ọchị obi mgbu na-adị, ma ọṅụ nwere ike kwụsị nʼiru ụjụ.
Laughter shall be mingled with sorrow, and mourning occupies the limits of joy.
14 Ndị na-ekwesighị ntụkwasị obi aghaghị inweta ụgwọ ọrụ ha, ma ezi mmadụ ga-enwetakwa ụgwọ ọrụ ya.
The foolish will be filled up by his own ways. And the good man shall be above him.
15 Onye na-enweghị uche na-ekwenye ihe niile a gwara ya; ma onye nwere uche na-atule mara ebe ọ na-eje.
The innocent trust every word. The astute one considers his own steps. Nothing good will be for the deceitful son. But the wise servant shall act prosperously and his way will be set in order.
16 Onye mara ihe na-atụ egwu Onyenwe anyị na-ewezugakwa onwe ya nʼihe ọjọọ, ma onye nzuzu na-ewebiga iwe oke ma na-eche na ọ ka bụ onye kwesiri ntụkwasị obi.
The wise fear, and so turn away from evil. The foolish leap ahead with confidence.
17 Onye iwe ọkụ na-eme ihe nzuzu, ma onye na-echepụta nzube ọjọọ ka a na-akpọ asị.
The impatient will work foolishness. And a resourceful man is hated.
18 Ndị na-enweghị uche na-enweta ụgwọ ọrụ nke uche gbagọrọ agbagọ, ma onye nwere uche na-enweta ihe ọmụma.
The childish will possess foolishness, and the discerning will anticipate knowledge.
19 Ndị ọjọọ ga-akpọ isiala nʼihu ndị ezi mmadụ, ndị ajọ omume ga-ada nʼọnụ ụzọ ama ndị ezi omume.
The evil will fall down before the good. And the impious will fall down before the gates of the just.
20 Ọ bụladị ndị agbataobi onye ogbenye na-akpọ ya asị, ma ọgaranya na-enwe ọtụtụ ndị enyi.
The pauper will be hated, even by his own neighbor. Yet truly, the friends of the wealthy are many.
21 Onye na-eleda onye agbataobi ya anya na-emehie, ma onye na-emere ndị ogbenye ebere ka ihe ga-agara nke ọma.
Whoever despises his neighbor, sins. But whoever pities the poor shall be blessed. Whoever trusts in the Lord loves mercy.
22 Ndị na-ezube ihe ọjọọ, ha ọ naghị akpafu? Ma ndị na-ezube ihe ọma na-achọta ịhụnanya na ikwesi ntụkwasị obi.
They wander astray who work evil. But mercy and truth prepare good things.
23 Ịrụsị ọrụ ike na-eweta uru; ma oke okwu na-eweta ụkpa.
In every work, there shall be abundance. But where there are many words, there is often need.
24 Okpueze nke ndị maara ihe bụ akụnụba ha, ma enweghị uche nke ndị nzuzu na-emepụta naanị ihe na-abaghị uru.
The crown of the wise is their wealth. The senselessness of the foolish is imprudence.
25 Onye na-agba akaebe eziokwu na-anapụta ndụ mmadụ, ma onye akaebe ụgha bụ onye aghụghọ.
A faithful witness frees souls. And the chameleon utters lies.
26 Onye ọbụla na-atụ egwu Onyenwe anyị nwere ebe mgbaba; nye ụmụ ya ọ ga-abụkwa ebe ize ndụ.
In the fear of the Lord is the faithfulness of strength, and there shall be hope for his sons.
27 Ịtụ egwu Onyenwe anyị bụ isi iyi nke ndụ; nke na-eme ka mmadụ ghara ịma nʼọnya ọnwụ.
The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, so as to turn aside from the ruin of death.
28 Otuto onye eze na-enwe dabeere nʼọnụọgụgụ ndị ọ na-achị, e wezuga ndị ọ na-achị, eze enweghị ugwu ọbụla.
In a multitude of people, there is dignity for the king. And in a paucity of people, there is disgrace for the prince.
29 Onye na-enwe ndidi nwere ọtụtụ nghọta, ma onye obi ọkụ na-egosi enweghị uche ya.
Whoever is patient is governed by much prudence. But whoever is impatient exalts his foolishness.
30 Ndụ dị jụụ na-eme ka ụbọchị mmadụ dị ogologo; ekworo na-eme ka o ree ure.
The well-being of the heart is life for the flesh. But envy is decay for the bones.
31 Onye ọbụla na-emegbu onye ogbenye na-elelị Chineke kere ha anya, ma onye na-emere onye ogbenye ebere na-asọpụrụ Chineke.
Whoever slanders the indigent argues against his Maker. But he who has compassion on the poor honors his Maker.
32 Ọ bụladị nʼọnwụ onye ezi omume nwere ebe mgbaba nʼime Chineke, ma ndị ajọ omume na-ala nʼiyi, mgbe mbibi bịara.
The impious will be expelled in his malice. But the just finds hope even in his own death.
33 Nʼobi onye nwere nghọta ka amamihe na-anọgide, ma ọ bụladị nʼetiti ndị nzuzu ọ na-eme ka amara ya.
In the heart of the prudent, wisdom finds rest. And so shall he instruct all the uneducated.
34 Ezi omume na-ewuli mba elu, ma mmehie bụ ihe ihere nye ndị ọbụla.
Justice elevates a nation. But sin makes the peoples miserable.
35 Eze na-aṅụrị ọṅụ nʼihi odibo maara ihe; ma odibo na-eweta ihere na-akpali oke iwe ya.
An intelligent minister is acceptable to the king. Whoever is useless shall bear his wrath.
