1 Ahụhụ dịrị obodo ọbara, nke jupụtara nʼụgha, na ihe e zutere nʼohi. Ọ dịghị mgbe ị na-adịghị adọgbu.
Woe to the bloody city! It is all full of lies [and] violence; the prey departeth not.
2 Ụda ụtarị, ụda ụkwụ ụgbọ ịnyịnya, ikiri ụkwụ ịnyịnya na-agba ọsọ, na mkpọtụ nke ụgbọ ịnyịnya agha!
The crack of the whip, and the noise of the rattling of the wheels, and of the prancing horses, and of the bounding chariots!
3 Ndị agha ịnyịnya, na-agbagharị na-efegharị mma agha na-egbu amụma, na ùbe ha na-egbuke egbuke. Ndị e gburu egbu dị ọtụtụ, ntụkọta ozu tọgbọrọ ebe niile, ozu a na-enweghị ike ịgụta ọnụ, ndị mmadụ na-asọ ngọngọ mgbe ha na-azọkwasị ozu ụkwụ na-agafe.
The horseman springing up, and the glitter of the sword, and the flash of the spear, and a multitude of slain, and a mass of carcases, and no end of corpses: they stumble over their corpses.
4 Ihe ndị a mere nʼihi enweghị afọ ojuju nke agụụ nke onye na-akwa iko, onye ji mma ile anya, nwanyị nwe mgbaasị dị iche iche, onye ji mba dị iche iche nʼagbụ site nʼịgba akwụna ya, na ọtụtụ mmadụ dị iche iche site na mgbaasị ya.
— Because of the multitude of the fornications of the well-favoured harlot, mistress of sorceries, that selleth nations through her fornications, and families through her sorceries,
5 “Edoola m onwe m imegide gị,” otu a ka Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile kwubiri. “Aga m ekpughepụ uwe gị, jiri ya kpuchie gị ihu, si otu a gosi mba niile nke ụwa ọtọ gị. Ihere ga-emekwa gị nʼihu alaeze niile.
behold, I am against thee, saith Jehovah of hosts; and I will uncover thy skirts upon thy face, and I will shew the nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame.
6 Aga m awụkwasị gị ihe arụ dị iche iche, meso gị mmeso onye e ledara anya, mekwaa ka ị bụrụ ihe ilere anya nye mmadụ niile.
And I will cast abominable filth upon thee, and make thee vile, and will set thee as a gazing stock.
7 Ndị niile hụrụ gị ga-agbara gị ọsọ na-asị, ‘Ninive aghọọla ihe lara nʼiyi, onye ga-eru ụjụ nʼihi ya?’ Ebee ka m ga-achọta onye ga-akasị gị obi?”
And it shall come to pass, [that] all they that see thee shall flee from thee, and shall say, Nineveh is laid waste! Who will bemoan her? whence shall I seek comforters for thee?
8 Ị dị mma karịa Tibs, bụ obodo dị nʼọnụ mmiri Naịl, nke mmiri gbara gburugburu? Osimiri ahụ bụ ihe o ji echebe onwe ya, mmiri ahụ bụkwa mgbidi gbara ya gburugburu.
Art thou better than No-Amon, that was situate among the rivers, [that had] the waters round about her, whose rampart was the sea, [and] of the sea was her wall?
9 Kush na Ijipt bụ agbamume ya nke na-enweghị ọgwụgwụ, Put na Libịa sokwa bụrụ ndị enyemaka ya.
Ethiopia was her strength, and Egypt, and it was infinite; Phut and the Libyans were her helpers.
10 Ma otu ọ dị, ebugara ya nʼala ndị ọzọ dịka ohu a dọtara nʼagha. A tụpịasịrị ụmụ ya a mụrụ ọhụrụ nʼelu nkume, nke dị nʼisi okporoụzọ ya niile. E fekwara nza iji kesaa ndị ya niile a na-asọpụrụ, e kekwara ndị ukwu ya niile mkpọrọ igwe.
She too was carried away, she went into captivity: her infants also were dashed in pieces, at the top of all the streets; and they cast lots for her honourable men, and all her great men were bound with chains.
11 Gị onwe gị ga-aṅụbigakwa mmanya oke, ị ga-abụ onye zoro onwe ya ezo, ma chọkwa ebe mgbaba nʼihi ịgbanarị ndị iro gị.
Thou also shalt be drunken: thou shalt be hid; thou also shalt seek a refuge from the enemy.
12 Ebe gị niile e wusiri ike dịka osisi fiig nke mkpụrụ mbụ ya chara nʼelu ya. Ma mgbe a kwagharịrị ya mkpụrụ ndị ahụ na-adaba nʼọnụ onye na-eri ya.
All thy strongholds are [like] fig-trees with the first-ripe figs: if they be shaken, they even fall into the mouth of the eater.
13 Lee ndị agha gị, ha niile bụ ụmụ nwanyị nʼetiti gị. E megheela ọnụ ụzọ ama nke ala gị niile nye ndị iro gị. Ọkụ erepịakwala na mkpọrọ e ji akpọchi ọnụ ụzọ unu niile.
Behold, thy people in the midst of thee are [as] women: the gates of thy land are set wide open unto thine enemies; the fire devoureth thy bars.
14 Seta mmiri maka oge nnọchibido, mee ka ebe gị niile nke ewusiri ike siekwa ike karịa. Gwupụta ụrọ, zọta aja, jiri ụrọ ndị ahụ kpụtakwa aja, rụzikwaa ụlọ ahụ.
Draw thee water for the siege, strengthen thy fortresses; go into the clay, and tread the mortar, make strong the brick-kiln.
15 Nʼebe ahụ ka ọkụ ga-erechapụ gị, mma agha ga-egbutu gị. Ọ ga-eripịa gị dịka igurube si erichapụ ihe niile dị ya nʼihu. Ọ bụladị ma i mee onwe gị ka i hie nne dịka ụkpana, maọbụ mụbaa dịka igurube.
There shall the fire devour thee; the sword shall cut thee off; it shall devour thee like the cankerworm. Make thyself many as the cankerworm, make thyself many as the locust.
16 Ị meela ka ndị ahịa gị mụbaa nʼọnụọgụgụ, baa ụba karịa kpakpando dị nʼeluigwe, dịka igurube ha na-eripịa ala ahụ, gbasaa nku ha efelaga
Thou hast multiplied thy merchants more than the stars of the heavens; the cankerworm spreadeth himself out and flieth away.
17 Ndị nche gị bara ụba igurube, ndị ode akwụkwọ gị dịkwa ukwuu nʼọnụọgụgụ dịka igwe igurube na-ebekwasị nʼelu mgbidi nʼụbọchị oyi. Ma mgbe anyanwụ wara, ha na-efelaga; ọ dịkwaghị onye maara ebe ha feere gaa.
Thy chosen men are as the locusts, and thy captains as swarms of grasshoppers, which camp in the hedges in the cold day: when the sun ariseth they flee away, and their place is not known where they are.
18 Eze ndị Asịrịa, ndị ọzụzụ atụrụ gị na-ero ụra, ndị unu a na-asọpụrụ adaala nʼụra ọnwụ. Ndị gị niile agbasasịala nʼelu ugwu niile, ọ dịkwaghị onye ha nwere nke ga-achịkọta ha.
Thy shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria; thy nobles lie still; thy people are scattered upon the mountains, and no man gathereth them.
19 Ọ dịghị ihe nwere ike ime ka i si nʼọnọdụ ị nọ ugbu a biliekwa. Nʼihi na ọnya dị gị nʼahụ ga-egbu gị. Ndị niile nụrụ ihe dakwasịrị gị ga-eji ọṅụ kụọ aka ha, nʼihi na onye ka mmadụ ahụ bụ nke na-anụrụghị ụfụ nke enweghị obi ebere gị?
There is no healing of thy breach; thy wound is grievous; all that hear the report of thee clap the hands over thee; for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?
