1 Ugbu a doo ndị agha gị nʼusoro, gị obodo nke usuu ndị agha, nʼihi na e jirila mgbidi gbaa gị gburugburu ibuso gị agha. Ha ga-eji mkpara tie onyendu Izrel na nti.
Now gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops; they lay siege against us: with the rod they smite upon the cheek the judge of Israel.
2 “Ma gị onwe gị, Betlehem Efrata, ọ bụ ezie na ị bụ obodo dị nta nʼetiti ndị ikwu Juda niile, ma onye ahụ ga-achị Izrel ga-esi na gị pụta, bụ onye ahụ mmalite ya sitere na mgbe ochie, sitekwa na mgbe ebighị ebi gara aga.”
But thou, Beth-lechem Ephratah, the least [though] thou be among the thousands of Judah, [yet] out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel, whose origin is from olden times, from most ancient days.
3 Ya mere, a ga-arara ha nye tutu ruo mgbe onye ahụ ime na-eme mụpụtara nwa ya. Mgbe ahụ, ụmụnna ya niile ahụ fọdụrụ ga-alọghachikwuru ndị Izrel.
Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she who travaileth hath brought forth: then shall the remnant of his brethren return with the children of Israel.
4 Ọ ga-eguzo zụọ igwe ewu na atụrụ ya, site nʼike nke Onyenwe anyị, na site nʼịdị ukwuu nke aha Onyenwe anyị Chineke ya. Ndị ya ga-anọkwa na-enweghị nsogbu, nʼihi na ịdị ukwuu ya ga-eru na nsọtụ niile nke ụwa.
And he shall stand forward and feed [Israel] through the strength of the Lord, through the excellency of the name of the Lord his God: and they shall abide [safely]; for now shall he be great even unto the ends of the earth.
5 Ọ ga-abụkwa udo anyị. Mgbe ndị Asịrịa ga-abata nʼala anyị nʼike, sikwa nʼebe niile e wusiri ike nke anyị na-agafe, anyị ga-ahọpụta ndị ọzụzụ atụrụ asaa, ọ bụladị ndịisi asatọ.
And in this [manner] shall there be peace: If Asshur should come into our land; and if he should tread in our palaces, then will we raise up against him seven shepherds, and eight anointed men.
6 Onye ga-eji mma agha chịa ala Asịrịa, jirikwa mma agha a mịpụtara amịpụta chịa ala Nimrọd. Ọ ga-anapụta anyị site nʼaka ndị Asịrịa ahụ, mgbe ha ga-eji ike bata nʼala anyị, ma zọrọkwa ije gafee oke ala anyị.
And they shall lay waste the land of Asshur with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the gates of its [cities]: thus will he deliver us from Asshur, if he should come into our land, and if he should tread within our borders.
7 Mgbe ahụ, ndị fọdụrụ afọdụ nke Jekọb ga-adị nʼetiti ọtụtụ ndị mmadụ, dịka igirigi si nʼebe Onyenwe anyị nọ abịa, maọbụ dịka mmiri ozuzo ntakịrị na-ezokwasị ahịhịa, nke na-adịghị ele anya mmadụ maọbụ chere ụmụ mmadụ.
And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many people like dew from the Lord, like showers upon the herbs, that wait not for man, nor hope for the sons of man.
8 Ndị fọdụrụ afọdụ nke Jekọb ga-adịkwa nʼetiti ọtụtụ ndị mmadụ dị ka ọdụm nʼetiti anụ ọhịa niile dị iche iche, e, dịka nwa ọdụm nʼetiti igwe atụrụ, nke na-azọda na-adọkasị mgbe ọ na-agabiga, ma o nweghị onye ga-anapụta ya.
And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the nations, in the midst of many people, like a lion among the beasts of the forest, like a young lion among flocks of sheep: who, if he break in, both treadeth down, and teareth in pieces, while none can deliver.
9 Aka gị ga-adị elu na mmeri nke ndị iro ya, a ghakwaghị ịla ndị iro gị niile nʼiyi.
High shall thy hand be lifted up above thy adversaries, and all thy enemies shall be cut off.
10 “Nʼụbọchị ahụ kwa,” otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwubiri, “Aga m ala ịnyịnya unu nʼiyi site nʼetiti unu, kụjisiekwa ụgbọala unu niile.
And it shall come to pass on that day, saith the Lord, that I will cut off thy horses out of the midst of thee, and I will destroy thy chariots;
11 Aga m ala obodo niile dị nʼala unu nʼiyi, dọdasịakwa ebe unu niile e wusiri ike.
And I will cut off the cities of thy land, and I will throw down all thy strongholds;
12 Aga m ala mgbaasị unu nʼiyi, unu agaghị enwekwa ndị na-ajụ mmụọ ọjọọ ase.
And I will cut off the arts of witchcraft out of thy hand; and soothsayers shalt thou have no more;
13 Aga m ala arụsị a pịrị apị unu niile nʼiyi, ya na nkume nsọ ahụ niile dị nʼetiti unu. Unu agakwaghị akpọ isiala nye ihe unu ji aka unu kpụọ.
And I will cut off thy graven images, and thy statues out of the midst of thee; and thou shalt no more prostrate thyself to the work of thy hands;
14 Aga m ehopu ogidi arụsị niile nke dị nʼetiti unu, mgbe m ga-akụdasị obodo unu niile
And I will pluck up thy groves out of the midst of thee; and I will destroy thy enemies.
15 Aga m esite nʼoke iwe m na ọnụma m bọọrọ onwe m ọbọ nʼahụ mba niile ndị ahụ jụrụ irubere m isi.”
And I will in anger and in fury execute vengeance upon the nations, upon those that have not hearkened.
