< Maika 2 >
How disastrous it will be for those who devise evil plans as they lie awake at night. They get up in the morning to carry them out, because they have the power to do just that.
2 Ha na-enwe anya ukwu nʼebe ubi ndị ọzọ dị, were ha nʼaka ike, na ụlọ dị iche iche, ha ewere ha nʼike. Ha na-ejikwa aka ike nara ndị mmadụ ụlọ ha, ha na-ezunara ha ihe nketa ha.
They seize any fields they want. They take any houses they want. They cheat people of their houses, and steal their inheritance.
3 Nʼihi nke a, Onyenwe anyị na-asị, “Lee, ana m akwado ihe ọjọọ megide agbụrụ a, nke unu na-enweghị ike isite na ya wezuga onwe unu. Unu agaghị eji nganga na-ejegharịkwa, nʼihi na ọ ga-abụ oge ọjọọ.
So this is what the Lord says. Watch out! I am planning to bring disaster on such families. They won't be able to escape. You will no longer walk around arrogantly, for this will be a time of disaster.
4 Nʼụbọchị ahụ ha ga-akọcha unu, ha ga-abụrụ unu abụ iru ụjụ iji ya kọchaa unu na-asị, ‘Anyị abụrụla ndị lara nʼiyi, e kesaala ihe nnweta nke ndị m, ọ napụla m ha. O werela ubi anyị nyefee ha nʼaka ndị ahụ meriri anyị nʼagha.’”
On that day they will make up a saying to taunt you. With a mocking lament they will say, “We are totally ruined! Our possessions are being sold off. They've taken everything away, and given our fields to your conquerors.”
5 Nʼihi ya, ọ dịkwaghị onye ga-afọdụ nʼetiti ọgbakọ nke Onyenwe anyị, onye ga-eji ihe ọtụtụ kee ala ahụ site nʼife nza.
Consequently at that time there will be none of you in the assembly of the Lord responsible for the division of the land.
6 Ndị amụma ha na-asị, “Unu ebukwala amụma.” “Unu ebukwala amụma banyere ihe ndị a, ihere agaghị eme anyị.”
But you preach at me, saying, “Don't preach such things. Don't prophesy like this. Such a humiliation won't happen to us!”
7 Ụdị ihe a o kwesiri okwukwu, gị ụlọ Jekọb? “Ntachiobi Onyenwe anyị ọ gwụla? Ihe ndị a ọ bụ otu o si eme?” “Ọ bụ na okwu m adịghị eme onye ụzọ ya ziri ezi mma?
Should you talk like that, descendants of Jacob? You ask, “Can the Lord run out of patience? Is this what he does?” Are not my words good to those who do what is right? asks the Lord.
8 Ma ọ bụ unu na-ebili megide ndị m dịka ndị iro. Unu na-eyipụ ndị na-agafe agafe uwe ọma ha yi nʼahụ ha na-enweghị mmetụta, dịka a ga-asị na unu bụ ndị si nʼagha na-alọta.
Lately my people have risen up against me like an enemy. You steal the coats off the backs of those passing by, men returning from war who expect to be safe in their homeland.
9 Unu na-achụpụ ndị inyom ndị m site nʼụlọ afọ ojuju ha. Ụmụ ha ka unu na-anapụ ngọzị m ruo mgbe ebighị ebi.
You drive the women of my people from their comfortable homes; you have robbed their children of my blessings forever.
10 Bilienụ, pụọnụ, nʼihi na ebe a abụkwaghị ebe izuike, nʼihi na-emerụọla ya, e bibiela ya, o bibikwaala, ruo na-ịrụzi ya agaghị adị ire.
Get up! Leave! For this is not a place for you to stay. It is defiled and totally ruined.
11 Ọ bụrụ na otu onye abịa buoro unu amụma ụgha na-asị, ‘Aga m eburu unu amụma banyere mmanya na ihe ọṅụṅụ siri ike,’ ọ bụ onye amụma dị otu a ka ndị a chọrọ.
If a false prophet should come to you and lie, saying, “I'll preach to you about the virtues of wine and alcohol,” he would be the perfect prophet for your kind of people.
12 “Aga m achịkọta unu niile, gị Jekọb, aga m akpọkọta ndị niile fọdụrụ nʼIzrel nʼotu ebe. Aga m akpọkọta ha dịka atụrụ nʼime ọgba anụ, dịka igwe ewu na atụrụ nʼebe ịta nri ya, ndị mmadụ ga-ejupụtakwa nʼebe ahụ.
I will certainly gather all of you, descendants of Jacob, I will certainly bring back together those who are left, Israel. I will place them like sheep in the fold, like a flock in its pasture. The land will be filled with people celebrating.
The One who opens the way for them will lead them, breaking through the gate and going out. Their King will lead them; the Lord himself will be at their head.
