< Matiu 4 >
1 Emesịa, Mmụọ Nsọ duuru Jisọs baa nʼọzara ka ekwensu nwaa ya ọnwụnwa.
Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
2 Mgbe o busiri ọnụ iri ụbọchị anọ ehihie na abalị, agụụ gụrụ ya nke ukwuu.
And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he afterward hungered.
3 Mgbe ahụ onye ọnwụnwa ahụ bịakwutere ya sị, “Ọ bụrụ na ị bụ Ọkpara Chineke, gwa nkume ndị a ka ha ghọọ achịcha.”
And the tempter came and said unto him, If thou art the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.
4 Ma Jisọs zara, “E dere ya nʼakwụkwọ nsọ sị, ‘Ọ bụghị naanị site na achịchaka mmadụ si adị ndụ, kama site nʼokwu niile si nʼọnụ Chineke pụta.’”
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
5 Mgbe ahụ, ekwensu duuru ya baa nʼobodo nsọ ahụ, mee ka o guzo nʼebe dịkarịsịrị elu nke ụlọnsọ ukwu,
Then the devil taketh him into the holy city; and he set him on the pinnacle of the temple,
6 sị ya, “Ọ bụrụ na ị bụ Ọkpara Chineke, site nʼebe a tụda onwe gị nʼala. Nʼihi na e dere ya nʼakwụkwọ nsọ sị, “‘Ọ ga-enye ndị mmụọ ozi ya iwu banyere gị, ha ga-ebuli gị elu nʼaka ha ka ị ghara ịkpọbi ụkwụ gị na nkume.’”
and saith unto him, If thou art the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: And on their hands they shall bear thee up, Lest haply thou dash thy foot against a stone.
7 Ma Jisọs zara sị ya, “E deela ya nʼakwụkwọ nsọ sị, ‘Ị gaghị anwa Onyenwe gị na Chineke gị ọnwụnwa.’”
Jesus said unto him, Again it is written, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
8 Ọzọkwa, ekwensu kpọọrọ ya gaa nʼelu ugwu dị elu, gosi ya alaeze niile nke ụwa na ebube ha.
Again, the devil taketh him unto an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
9 Ọ sịrị ya, “Aga m enye gị ha niile ma ọ bụrụ na ị daa nʼala kpọọ isiala nye m.”
and he said unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10 Ma Jisọs sịrị ya, “Si nʼebe m nọ pụọ, ekwensu. Nʼihi na akwụkwọ nsọ kwuru sị, ‘Ọ bụ naanị Onyenwe anyị Chineke gị ka ị ga-akpọ isiala nye, naanị ya ka ị ga-efekwa.’”
Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
11 Mgbe ahụ ekwensu hapụrụ ya laa. Ndị mmụọ ozi bịakwutere ya, nọnyere ya, na-ejere ya ozi.
Then the devil leaveth him; and behold, angels came and ministered unto him.
12 Mgbe Jisọs nụrụ na e tinyela Jọn nʼụlọ mkpọrọ, ọ pụrụ gaa Galili.
Now when he heard that John was delivered up, he withdrew into Galilee;

The people which sat in darkness Saw a great light, And to them which sat in the region and shadow of death, To them did light spring up.
17 Site nʼoge ahụ gaa nʼihu Jisọs bidoro na-ekwusa na-asị, “Chegharịanụ, nʼihi na alaeze eluigwe dị nso.”
From that time began Jesus to preach, and to say, Repent ye; for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

And walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw two brethren, Simon who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishers.
19 Ọ sịrị ha, “Bịanụ soro m. Aga m eme unu ndị ọkụ na-akụta mmadụ.”
And he saith unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you fishers of men.
20 Ha hapụrụ ụgbụ azụ ha otu mgbe ahụ soro ya.
And they straightway left the nets, and followed him.
21 Mgbe ọ gara nʼihu nke nta, ọ hụrụ ụmụnne abụọ ọzọ, Jemis nwa Zebedi na Jọn nwanne ya, ebe ha na nna ha Zebedi nọ nʼime ụgbọ mmiri na-ekezi ụgbụ azụ ha. Ọ kpọkwara ha,
And going on from thence he saw other two brethren, James the [son] of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.
22 ngwangwa ha hapụrụ ụgbọ ha na nna ha soro ya.
And they straightway left the boat and their father, and followed him.
23 Jisọs jegharịrị nʼobodo niile nke Galili, na-akụzi ihe nʼụlọ nzukọ niile ha, na-ekwusakwa oziọma nke alaeze ahụ. Ọ na-agwọkwa ọrịa na nrịa nrịa niile dị iche iche nʼetiti ndị ahụ.
And Jesus went about in all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of disease and all manner of sickness among the people.
24 Akụkọ banyere ya gbasara jezuo akụkụ Siria niile. Mgbe ahụ ọtụtụ ndị mmadụ kpọtaara ya ndị niile ahụ na-esighị ike, ndị na-arịa ụdị ọrịa dị iche iche, ndị nwere ahụ mgbu, na ndị mmụọ ọjọọ na-esogbu, na ndị akwụkwụ, na ndị akụkụ ahụ ha kpọnwụrụ akpọnwụ. Ọ gwọkwara ha niile.
And the report of him went forth into all Syria: and they brought unto him all that were sick, holden with divers diseases and torments, possessed with devils, and epileptic, and palsied; and he healed them.

And there followed him great multitudes from Galilee and Decapolis and Jerusalem and Judaea and [from] beyond Jordan.
