< Matiu 23 >
1 Mgbe ahụ Jisọs gwara igwe mmadụ ahụ niile na ndị na-eso ụzọ ya sị,
Then spake Jesus to the multitudes and to his disciples,
2 “Ndị ozizi iwu na ndị Farisii na-anọ nʼoche Mosis.
saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses’ seat:
3 Ya mere, meenụ ma na-edebekwanụ ihe niile ha na-agwa unu. Ma unu esokwala omume ha. Nʼihi na ha adịghị eme ihe ha na-ekwusa. Ha na-ekwu otu ihe ma na-eme ihe ọzọ.
all things therefore whatsoever they bid you, [these] do and observe: but do not ye after their works; for they say, and do not.
Yea, they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with their finger.
5 “Ihe niile ha na-eme bụ ka ndị mmadụ hụ ha. Ha na-eme ka igbe ntae tinyere iwu ndị dị mkpa e depụtara nke ha na-ekekwasị nʼegedege ihu na nʼaka dị obosara na-emekwa ka ọnụnụ uwe ha buo ibu.
But all their works they do for to be seen of men: for they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders [of their garments],
6 Ha hụrụ ịnọ nʼisi oche nʼoge mmemme oriri ọbụla na ịnọkwasị nʼoche kachasị elu nʼụlọ ekpere nʼanya.
and love the chief place at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,
7 Ọ na-amasị ha mgbe a na-ekele ha ekele pụrụ iche nʼọma ahịa, ndị ọzọ a na-akpọkwa ha, ‘Onye ozizi.’
and the salutations in the marketplaces, and to be called of men, Rabbi.
8 “Unu ekwela ka onye ọbụla kpọọ unu ‘Onye ozizi,’ nʼihi na unu nwere naanị otu Onye ozizi. Unu niile bụkwa ụmụnne. Ọ dịghị onye ka ibe ya ukwuu.
But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your teacher, and all ye are brethren.
9 Unu akpọkwala onye ọbụla nʼụwa a ‘Nna,’ nʼihi na unu nwere otu Nna nke bi nʼeluigwe.
And call no man your father on the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
10 Unu ekwela ka a kpọọ unu ndị ndu, nʼihi na ọ bụ naanị otu onyendu ka unu nwere, ya bụ Kraịst.
Neither be ye called masters: for one is your master, [even] the Christ.
11 Onye dị ukwuu nʼetiti unu ga-abụ onye na-ejere unu ozi.
But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.
12 Nʼihi na onye ọbụla ga-ebuli onwe ya elu ka a ga-eweda nʼala. Ma onye ọbụla wedara onwe ya ala, ka a ga-ebuli elu.”
And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be humbled; and whosoever shall humble himself shall be exalted.
13 “Ahụhụ ga-adịrị unu ndị Farisii na ndị ozizi iwu, ndị ihu abụọ! Nʼihi na unu na-emechibido ndị ọzọ ụzọ ha ga-esi bata nʼalaeze eluigwe, ma unu onwe unu adịghị abata. Unu adịghịkwa enye ndị ọzọ ohere ịbata.
But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye shut the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye enter not in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering in to enter.
14 “Ahụhụ ga-adịrị unu ndị ozizi iwu na ndị Farisii, ndị ihu abụọ! Nʼihi na unu na-eripịa ụlọ ndị inyom di ha nwụrụ, ọ bụladị mgbe unu na-ekpe ogologo ekpere ka mmadụ hụ unu. Unu ga-anata ikpe ọmụma dị ukwuu.
15 “Ahụhụ ga-adakwasị unu ndị ozizi iwu na ndị Farisii, ndị ihu abụọ! Nʼihi na unu na-agafe oke osimiri na mba dị iche iche, ime ka otu onye chegharịa, bụrụ onye na-eso ụzọ unu. Ma mgbe unu mesịrị nke a, unu na-alaghachi mee ya okpukpu abụọ ka ọ bụrụ nwa ọkụ ala mmụọ karịa onwe unu. (Geenna )
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte; and when he is become so, ye make him twofold more a son of hell than yourselves. (Geenna )
16 “Ahụhụ ga-adịrị unu ndị ndu kpuru ìsì! Nʼihi na unu na-asị, Onye ọbụla jiri ụlọnsọ ṅụọ iyi, iyi ọ ṅụrụ bụ ihe efu. Ma onye ọbụla jiri ọlaedo dị nʼime ụlọnsọ ṅụọ iyi kwesiri imezu iyi ahụ ọ ṅụrụ.
Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor.
17 Ndị nzuzu kpuru ìsì! Olee nke karịrị ukwuu? Ọ bụ ọlaedo ahụ, ka ọ bụ ụlọnsọ nke doro ọlaedo ahụ nsọ?
Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that hath sanctified the gold?
18 Unu na-ezikwa ndị mmadụ sị, ‘Ọ bụrụ na mmadụ ejiri ebe ịchụ aja ṅụọ iyi, iyi ahụ ọ ṅụrụ bụ ihe efu. Ma onye ọbụla ga-eji onyinye dị nʼelu ebe ịchụ aja ṅụọ iyi ga-emezu iyi ahụ ọ ṅụrụ.’
And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gift that is upon it, he is a debtor.
19 Leenụ ka unu si bụrụ ndị ìsì! Olee nke karịrị ukwuu? Ọ bụ onyinye dị nʼelu ebe ịchụ aja ka ọ bụ ebe ịchụ aja na-edo onyinye ahụ nsọ?
Ye blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?
20 Ya mere, mgbe onye ọbụla ji ebe ịchụ aja ṅụọ iyi, ọ bụ ebe ịchụ aja ahụ na onyinye dị nʼelu ya ka o ji ṅụọ iyi ahụ.
He therefore that sweareth by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon.
And he that sweareth by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein.
22 Mgbe mmadụ jikwa eluigwe ṅụọ iyi, ọ bụ ocheeze Chineke na onye nọdụrụ nʼelu ocheeze ahụ ka o ji ṅụọ iyi.
And he that sweareth by the heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon.
23 “E, ahụhụ ga-adakwasị unu ndị Farisii na ndị ozizi iwu. Ndị ihu abụọ! Nʼihi na unu na-asa anya unu mmiri nye, ọ bụladị onyinye otu ụzọ nʼime ụzọ iri unu ruo nʼakwụkwọ nri dịkarịsịrị nta dị nʼubi unu, dịka mint, diil na kumin, ma unu akpọghị ikpe ziri ezi na ebere, na okwukwe ihe dị mkpa. Ihe ndị a ka unu kwesiri ibu ụzọ mee ma gharakwa ileghara iwu ndị ọzọ anya.
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye tithe mint and anise and cummin, and have left undone the weightier matters of the law, judgment, and mercy, and faith: but these ye ought to have done, and not to have left the other undone.
Ye blind guides, which strain out the gnat, and swallow the camel.
25 “Ahụhụ ga-adakwasị unu, ndị Farisii na ndị ozizi iwu, ndị ihu abụọ! Nʼihi na unu na-elezi anya nke ọma mee ka azụ iko mmiri unu, na azụ efere unu dị ọcha, ma ime ha jupụtara na ịpụnarị mmadụ ihe nʼike na ọchịchọ ọjọọ niile.
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye cleanse the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full from extortion and excess.
26 Gị onye Farisii kpuru ìsì! Buru ụzọ mee ka ime iko dị ọcha, mgbe ahụ azụ ya ga-adịkwa ọcha.
Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first the inside of the cup and of the platter, that the outside thereof may become clean also.
27 “Ahụhụ ga-adịrị unu ndị Farisii na ndị ozizi iwu, ndị ihu abụọ! Nʼihi na unu yiri ili e tere nzu, nke na-egosi onwe ya dị ka ihe mara mma, ma ime ya jupụtara nʼọkpụkpụ ndị nwụrụ anwụ, na ihe niile na-adịghị ọcha.
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which outwardly appear beautiful, but inwardly are full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.
28 Nʼụzọ dị otu a, unu na-egosi onwe unu dị ka ndị ezi omume, ma nʼime unu, unu jupụtara nʼihu abụọ na ndị ajọ omume.
Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but inwardly ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
29 “E, ahụhụ ga-adịrị unu ndị Farisii na ndị ozizi iwu, ndị ihu abụọ! Nʼihi na unu na-ewu ili ndị amụma na-ewerekwa ihe ịchọ mma na-edozi nkume ncheta ndị ezi omume.
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and garnish the tombs of the righteous,
and say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we should not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.
31 Site nʼụzọ dị otu a, unu na-agba akaebe megide onwe unu na unu bụ ụmụ ndị gburu ndị amụma.
Wherefore ye witness to yourselves, that ye are sons of them that slew the prophets.
32 Gaanụ sorokwa nzọ ụkwụ nna unu ha, ka unu rụzuo ọrụ ahụ ha malitere.
Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.
33 “Ụmụ agwọ! Ụmụ ajụala! Unu si aṅaa chee na unu ga-agbanarị ikpe nke ịba nʼọkụ ala mmụọ? (Geenna )
Ye serpents, ye offspring of vipers, how shall ye escape the judgment of hell? (Geenna )
Therefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: some of them shall ye kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute from city to city:
35 Ka ọgbọ a bụrụ ndị ikpe mara nʼihi ọbara nke ndị ezi omume niile e gburu nʼụwa, site nʼọbara Ebel ruo na nke Zekaraya nwa Berekaya, onye unu gburu nʼetiti ụlọnsọ nʼebe ịchụ aja unu.
that upon you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of Abel the righteous unto the blood of Zachariah son of Barachiah, whom ye slew between the sanctuary and the altar.
36 Nʼezie agwa m unu, ihe ndị a niile, ga-abịakwasị ọgbọ a.
Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.
37 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem! Gị obodo na-egbu ndị amụma, na nke na-atụ ndị niile e ziteere gị nkume. Ugboro ole ka m chọrọ ịchịkọta ụmụ gị dị ka nne ọkụkụ si achịkọta ụmụ ya nʼokpuru nku ya ichebe ha? Ma ị chọghị ka m mee otu a!
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killeth the prophets, and stoneth them that are sent unto her! how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
38 Lee, a hapụrụla unu ụlọ unu ka ọ tọgbọrọ nʼefu.
Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.
39 Nʼihi na asị m unu, unu agaghị ahụ m anya ọzọ tutu ruo mgbe unu ga-asị, Onye a gọziri agọzi ka onye ahụ bụ nke na-abịa nʼaha Onyenwe anyị.”
For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed [is] he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
