< Matiu 20 >
1 “Ihe ọzọ a ga-eji tụnyere alaeze eluigwe bụ nwoke nwere ala ubi, onye pụrụ nʼisi ụtụtụ ịkpọta ndị ọrụ ga-arụ ọrụ nʼubi vaịnị ya.
For the kingdom of heaven is like a man, the lord of a house, who went out, at dawn of day, to hire laborers for his vineyard.
And he contracted with the labors for a denarius a day: and sent them into his vineyard.
3 “Mgbe ọ pụrụ nʼihe dị ka elekere itoolu nke ụtụtụ, o sitere nʼebe a na-akpọta ndị ọrụ na-agafe hụ ndị ọzọ ka ha guzoro nʼọma ahịa na-enweghị ọrụ ha na-arụ.
And he went out at the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the market-place:
4 Ọ sịrị ha, ‘Unu onwe unu gaakwanụ rụọ ọrụ nʼubi vaịnị m, ihe ọbụla ziri ezi ka m ga-akwụ unu.’
and he said to them, Go ye also into my vineyard, and what is right I will give you;
and they went. And again he went out at the sixth and ninth hours, and did the same.
6 Mgbe o ruru elekere ise nke anyasị, ọ pụrụ hụ ndị ọzọ ka ha guzoro. Ọ jụrụ ha ajụjụ sị, ‘Gịnị mere unu ji guzoro nʼebe a taa niile na-arụghị ọrụ?’
And about the eleventh hour, he went out and found others who were standing and idle; and he said to them: Why stand ye all the day, and are idle?
7 “Ha zara sị ya, ‘Nʼihi na ọ dịghị onye kpọrọ anyị ọrụ.’ “Ọ gwara ha sị, ‘Unu onwe unu gaakwanụ rụọ ọrụ nʼubi vaịnị m. Aga m akwụkwa unu ihe dị mma.’
They say to him, Because no one hath hired us. He saith to them: Go ye also into the vineyard; and what is right ye shall receive.
8 “Mgbe o ruru oge anyasị, onye nwe ubi vaịnị ahụ gwara onye na-elekọtara ya ndị ahụ anya sị, ‘Kpọkọta ndị ọrụ ahụ kwụọ ha ụgwọ, site na ndị ikpeazụ bịara ọrụ ruo na ndị bu ụzọ.’
And when it was evening, the lord of the vineyard said to his steward: Call the laborers, and give them their wages; and commence with the last, and proceed to the first.
9 “Mgbe ndị a kpọrọ ọrụ nʼelekere ise anyasị naara ego ha, a kwụrụ ha otu denarị, otu denarị.
And those of the eleventh hour came, and received each a denarius.
And when the first came, they supposed they should receive more; but they also received each a denarius.
11 Mgbe ha naara ego ahụ, ha tamuru ntamu megide nna nwe ụlọ,
And when they received it, they murmured against the lord of the house,
12 na-asị, ‘Ndị a bịara nʼikpeazụ rụrụ ọrụ naanị otu awa, ma i meela ka anyị na ha hara. Anyị bụ ndị buru ihe mgbu nke ọrụ ma okpomọkụ nke anwụ niile chara nʼụbọchị taa.’
and said: These last have labored but one hour, and thou hast made them equal with us who have borne the burden of the day and the heat of it.
13 “Ma ọ zara otu nʼime ha sị, ‘Enyi m, emeghị m gị ihe ọjọọ ọbụla. Ọ bụ na mụ na gị ekwughị na m ga-akwụ gị otu denarị nʼụbọchị?
But he answered, and said to one of them: My friend, I do thee no injustice: was it not for a denarius that thou didst contract with me?
14 Nara nke ruru gị laa. A chọrọ m ịkwụ ndị a bịara nʼikpeazụ ụgwọ dị ka m si kwụọ gị.
Take what belongeth to thee, and go: for I am disposed to give to this last, as to thee.
15 Ọ bụ na m enweghị ike iji ihe m nwere mee otu ọ masịrị m? Ọ bụ anya ukwu ka ị na-enwe nʼihi afọ ofufu m?’
Is it not lawful for me, to do what I please with what belongeth to me; or is thy eye evil, because I am good?
Thus the last shall be first, and the first last: for the called are many, but the chosen are few.
And Jesus was about to go up to Jerusalem: and he took his twelve disciples aside, on the way, and said to them:
18 “Lee, anyị na-aga Jerusalem ebe a ga-arara Nwa nke Mmadụ nyefee nʼaka ndịisi nchụaja na ndị ozizi iwu. Ha ga-ama ya ikpe ọnwụ,
Behold we are going to Jerusalem; and the Son of man will be delivered up to the chief priests and to the Scribes, and they will condemn him to death.
19 nyefekwa ya nʼaka ndị mba ọzọ, ndị ga-eji ya mee ihe ọchị, pịa ya ihe, ma kpọgide ya nʼobe. Ma nʼụbọchị nke atọ, a ga-eme ka ọ site nʼọnwụ bilie.”
And they will deliver him over to the Gentiles: and they will mock him, and will scourge him, and will crucify him; and the third day, he will arise.
Then came, to him the mother of Zebedee's children, she and her sons; and she worshipped him, and asked something from him.
21 Ọ sịrị ya, “Gịnị ka ị chọrọ ka m meere gị?” Ọ zara ya sị, “Kwee m nkwa na ụmụ abụọ ndị a ga-anọdụ otu nʼaka nri gị, nke ọzọ nʼaka ekpe gị nʼalaeze gị.”
And he said to her, What desirest thou? She said to him: Say, that these my two sons shall sit, the one on thy right hand and the other on thy left, in thy kingdom.
22 Ma Jisọs zara sị, “Unu amaghị ihe unu na-arịọ. Unu pụrụ ịṅụ iko ahụ nke mụ onwe m ga-aṅụ?” Ha zara ya sị, “Ee, anyị nwere ike ịṅụ ya.”
Jesus answered and said: Ye know not what ye ask for. Can ye drink of the cup, of which I am to drink? or be baptized with the baptism, that I am baptized with? They say to him: We can.
23 Jisọs sịrị ha, “Nʼezie unu ga-aṅụ iko m ga-aṅụ, ma ịnọdụ nʼaka nri maọbụ nʼaka ekpe m, abụghị ihe dịrị m inye, kama ọ dịịrị ndị ahụ Nna m kwadooro ya.”
He saith to them: Ye will indeed drink of my cup, and will be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but that ye should sit on my right hand and on my left, is not mine to give, except to those for whom it is prepared by my Father.
24 Mgbe mmadụ iri ndị ọzọ nʼime ndị na-eso ụzọ ya nụrụ nke a, iwe were ha nke ukwuu megide ụmụnne abụọ a.
And when the ten heard it, they were angry against the two brothers.
And Jesus called them, and said to them: Ye know that the princes of the nations are their lords, and their great men exercise authority over them.
26 Ma nʼetiti unu ọ gaghị adị otu a. Kama, onye ọbụla nʼetiti unu chọrọ ịbụ onyeisi, ga-ebu ụzọ bụrụ onye na-ejere unu niile ozi.
Not so shall it be among you. But whoever among you desireth to be great, let him be to you, a ministerer:
27 Ma onye ọbụla nke chọrọ ịbụ onye mbụ nʼetiti unu ga-abụ ohu unu niile.
and whoever among you desireth to be first, let him be your servant:
28 Ọ bụladị dị ka Nwa nke Mmadụ na-abịaghị ka e jeere ya ozi, kama ka o jee ozi, ma nyekwa ndụ ya ka ọ bụrụ ihe mgbapụta nke ọtụtụ mmadụ.”
even as the Son of man came, not to be served, but to serve; and to give his life a ransom for many.
And as Jesus passed out of Jericho, a great multitude followed him.
30 Ndị ìsì abụọ nọ nʼakụkụ ụzọ ahụ. Mgbe ha nụrụ na ọ bụ Jisọs na-abịa, ha malitere iti mkpu nʼoke olu na-asị, “Onyenwe anyị, Nwa Devid, meere anyị ebere!”
And lo, two blind men were sitting by the way side. And when they heard that Jesus was passing, they called out, and said: Have compassion on us, my Lord, thou son of David!
31 Igwe mmadụ ahụ baara ha mba ka ha mechie ọnụ ha. Ma ndịisi ahụ nọgidesịrị ike na-eti mkpu nʼoke olu na-asị, “Onyenwe anyị, Nwa Devid, meere anyị ebere!”
And the multitudes rebuked them, that they might be silent. But they raised their voice the more, and said: Our Lord, have compassion on us, thou son of David.
32 Mgbe Jisọs bịaruru nʼebe ha nọ, o guzoro kpọọ ha, jụọ ha sị, “Gịnị ka unu chọrọ ka m meere unu?”
And Jesus stopped, and called them, and said: What wish ye, that I should do for you?
33 Ha zara sị ya, “Onyenwe anyị, biko, anyị chọrọ ka i mee ka anyị hụ ụzọ.”
They said to him: Our Lord, that our eyes may be opened.
And he had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes were opened, and they followed him.
