< Matiu 19 >

1 Mgbe Jisọs kwusiri okwu ndị a, o hapụrụ Galili gaa na mpaghara Judịa, nke dị nʼofe osimiri Jọdan.
When Jesus had finished saying these things, he departed from Galilee and came into the region of Judea beyond the Jordan.
2 Igwe mmadụ dị ukwuu sooro ya. Ọ gwọkwara ndị ahụ na-esighị ike nʼetiti ha nʼebe ahụ.
Large crowds followed him, and he healed them there.
Then the Pharisees came up to Jesus and tested him by asking him, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason?”
4 Ọ zara ha sị, “Ọ bụ na unu agụtabeghị na akwụkwọ nsọ, na Onye kere ha na mbụ kere ha nwoke na nwanyị.
He answered them, “Have you not read that he who made them from the beginning ‘made them male and female,’
5 Nʼihi nke a ka nwoke ga-eji hapụ nne ya na nna ya e jikọta ya na nwunye ya. Ha abụọ ga-abụkwa otu anụ ahụ.
and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’?
So then, they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate.”
7 Ha jụrụ ya sị, “Gịnị mekwaranụ Mosis ji nye iwu si na nwoke ọbụla nwere ohere ide akwụkwọ alụkwaghị m nye nwunye ya?”
They said to him, “Why then did Moses command us to give her a certificate of divorce and send her away?”
8 Ọ zara ha sị ha, “Ọ bụ nʼihi na unu bụ ndị mkpọchi obi, ya mere Mosis jiri hapụ unu ka unu gbaa nwunye unu alụkwaghị m; ma ọ dịghị otu a site na mbụ.
He said to them, “Because of your hardness of heart Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so.
I tell you that whoever divorces his wife, except for fornication, and marries another, commits adultery. And whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.”
10 Ndị na-eso ụzọ ya sịrị ya, “Ọ bụrụ na o si otu a dịrị, ọ ka mma na mmadụ alụghị nwunye ma ọlị.”
His disciples said to him, “If such is the case of a man with his wife, it is better not to marry.”
But Jesus said to them, “Not all men can accept this statement, but only those to whom it is given.
12 Ma ụfọdụ ndị mmadụ ka a mụrụ ka ha bụrụ onozi, ndị ọzọ bụkwa ndị mmadụ ibe ha mere otu a. Ndị ọzọ dịkwa ndị jiri aka ha họrọ ibu onozinʼihi alaeze eluigwe. Onye pụrụ ịnara nke a, ya nara ya.”
For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother's womb, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Whoever is able to accept this should accept it.”
Then little children were brought to Jesus so that he might lay his hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked those who brought them.
Nʼihi na alaeze eluigwe bụ nke ndị dị otu a.”
Yet Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
15 O bikwasịrị ha aka nʼisi gọzie ha niile tupu ọ hapụ ha pụọ.
And after laying his hands on them, he departed from there.
16 Otu onye bịakwutere ya, jụọ ya ajụjụ sị, “Ezi onye ozizi, olee ezi ihe m ga-eme ka m keta ndụ ebighị ebi?” (aiōnios g166)
And behold, a man came and said to him, “Good Teacher, what good thing must I do to have eternal life?” (aiōnios g166)
17 Jisọs sịrị ya, “Gịnị mere i ji ajụ m ajụjụ banyere ihe bụ ezi ihe? Ọ dị naanị otu onye nke bụ ezi mmadụ. Ọ bụrụ na ị chọrọ ịba nʼime ndụ ahụ, debe iwu niile e nyere.”
Jesus said to him, “Why do yoʋ call me good? No one is good except God alone. But if yoʋ wish to enter life, keep the commandments.”
18 Ọ jụrụ ya ajụjụ sị, “Olee iwu ndị m ga-edebe?” Jisọs zara ya, “‘Egbula mmadụ, akwala iko, ezula ohi, ekwula okwu ụgha.
The man said to him, “Which ones?” Jesus said, “Yoʋ shall not murder, Yoʋ shall not commit adultery, Yoʋ shall not steal, Yoʋ shall not give false testimony,
19 Sọpụrụ nne gị na nna gị. Ọzọ, hụkwa onye agbataobi gị nʼanya dị ka onwe gị.’”
Honor yoʋr father and yoʋr mother, and, Yoʋ shall love yoʋr neighbor as yoʋrself.”
The young man said to him, “All these I have kept from my youth; what do I still lack?”
21 Jisọs zara sị ya, “Ọ bụrụ na ị chọrọ ịbụ onye zuruoke nʼezie, laa nʼụlọ gị ree ihe niile i nwere, nyekwa ndị ogbenye ego i retara. Ị ga-enwe akụ nʼeluigwe, mgbe ahụ, bịakwa soro m.”
Jesus said to him, “If yoʋ wish to be perfect, go sell what yoʋ have and give to the poor, and yoʋ will have treasure in heaven; then come follow me.”
22 Mgbe nwokorobịa ahụ nụrụ okwu a, ọ lara na mwute, nʼihi na ọ bụ ọgaranya.
But when the young man heard this, he went away sorrowful, for he had many possessions.
23 Mgbe ahụ Jisọs gwara ndị na-eso ụzọ ya sị, “Nʼezie agwa m unu, ọ bụ nnọọ ihe siri ike na onye ọgaranya ga-abanye nʼalaeze eluigwe.
Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I say to you, only with difficulty will a rich person enter the kingdom of heaven.
24 Ọzọkwa, asị m unu, ọ dịịrị ịnyịnya kamel mfe ịgafe nʼanya agịga, karịa ọgaranya ịbanye nʼalaeze Chineke.”
Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.”
25 Okwu a o kwuru tụrụ ndị na-eso ụzọ ya nʼanya. Ha sịrị, “Ọ bụrụ na o si otu a dịrị, onye kwanụ ka a ga-azọpụta?”
When his disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and said, “Who then can be saved?”
26 Jisọs legidere ha anya sị ha, “Nʼebe mmadụ nọ nke a bụ ihe a na-apụghị ime, ma ọ dịghị ihe rara ahụ ime nʼebe Chineke nọ.”
Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men it is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
27 Mgbe ahụ Pita jụrụ ya sị, “Lee, anyị ahapụla ihe niile soro gị, gịnị ga-abụ ụgwọ ọrụ anyị?”
Then Peter said to him in response, “Behold, we have left everything and followed yoʋ; what then will there be for us?”
28 Jisọs zara sị ya, “Nʼezie agwa m unu, mgbe a ga-agbanwe ihe niile, mgbe Nwa nke Mmadụ ga-anọkwasị nʼelu ocheeze ebube ya, nʼalaeze ahụ, nʼezie, unu bụ ndị na-eso ụzọ m ga-anọkwasị nʼocheeze iri na abụọ ahụ, na-ekpe ebo iri na abụọ nke Izrel ikpe.
Jesus said to them, “Truly I say to you, when all things are made new and the Son of Man sits on his throne of glory, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
And everyone who has left houses, brothers, sisters, father, mother, wife, children, or fields for my name's sake, will receive a hundred times more and will inherit eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
30 Ma ọtụtụ ndị bu ụzọ ga-abụ ndị ikpeazụ, ma ndị ikpeazụ ga-abụkwa ndị bu ụzọ.”
But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.
