< Matiu 11 >
1 Mgbe Jisọs nyesịrị ndị na-eso ụzọ ya ndụmọdụ ndị a, ọ hapụrụ ebe ahụ pụọ. Bido na-ejegharị nʼobodo dị iche iche na-ezisa oziọma.
When Jesus had made an end of instructing his twelve disciples, he departed thence, to teach and give warning in the cities.
Now John, having heard in prison of the works of the Messiah, sent two of his disciples,
3 Ọ gwara ha ka ha jụọ ya ajụjụ sị, “Ọ bụ gị bụ onye ahụ anyị na-ele anya ọbịbịa ya, ka ọ bụ onye ọzọ?”
who asked him, Are you he that comes, or must we expect another?
4 Jisọs zara ha sị, “Laghachinụ azụ gwa Jọn banyere ihe unu nụrụ na ihe anya unu hụrụ.
Jesus answering, said to them, Go, and relate to John, what you have heard and seen.
5 Gwanụ ya na a na-eme ka ndị ìsì hụ ụzọ, ka ndị ngwụrọ gaa ije. A na-emekwa ka ahụ ndị ekpenta dị ọcha. Ndị ogbi na-anụ ihe, na-ekwu okwu. Ndị nwụrụ anwụ ka a na-akpọte. Gwakwanụ ya ihe banyere oziọma a na-ezisara ndị ogbenye.
The blind are made to see, the lame to walk; lepers are cleansed; the deaf hear; the dead are raised; and good news is brought to the poor;
6 Ziekwanụ ya ozi a, na ngọzị na-adịrị onye ahụ na-enweghị ihe mkpasu iwe nʼihi m.”
and happy is he, to whom I shall not prove a stumbling block.
7 Mgbe ndị ahụ Jọn zitere lara, Jisọs bidoro ịgwa igwe mmadụ nọ nʼebe ahụ okwu banyere Jọn. Ọ jụrụ ha ajụjụ sị, “Mgbe unu gara nʼọzara ịhụ Jọn, gịnị ka unu lere anya na unu ga-ahụ? Ọ bụ ahịhịa achara nke ikuku na-ebugharị?
When they were departed, Jesus said to the people concerning John, What did you go out into the wilderness to behold? A reed shaken by the wind?
8 Ma ọ bụghị otu a, gịnị ka unu pụrụ ịga ịhụ? Ọ bụ nwoke yi uwe mara mma? Ma lee ndị na-eyi uwe dị oke ọnụahịa na-anọ nʼụlọ eze.
But what did you go out to see? A man effeminately dressed? It is king's palaces that such frequent.
9 Ma gịnị ka unu lere anya na unu ga-ahụ? Ọ bụ onye amụma? E, asị m unu, ọ bụ onye karịrị onye amụma.
What did you go to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and something superior to a prophet:
10 Onye bụ onye ahụ e dere ihe banyere ya nʼakwụkwọ nsọ sị, “‘Lee, aga m ezipu onyeozi m nʼihu gị, onye ga-edozi ụzọ gị nʼihu gị.’
for this is he, concerning whom it is written, "Behold I will send my angel before you, who shall prepare your way."
11 Nʼezie, ọ dịghị nwoke ọbụla nʼetiti ndị nwanyị mụrụ dị ukwuu karịa Jọn omee baptizim. Ma onye dịkarịsịrị nta nʼalaeze eluigwe dị ukwuu karịa ya.
Indeed, I say to you, among those that are born of women, there has not arisen a greater than John the Immerser. Yet the least in the Reign of Heaven is greater than he.
12 Site nʼụbọchị ndị ahụ Jọn omee baptizim malitere ọrụ ya ruo ugbu a, ihe banyere alaeze eluigwe na-agabiga ihe ike. Otu a kwa ndị dị ike na-abagidekwa ya.
From the first appearing of John the Immerser until now, the kingdom of heaven is invaded, and invaders take possession by force.
13 Nʼihi na tupu Jọn abịa, iwu na ndị amụma niile buru amụma banyere alaeze a.
For till John appeared, all the prophets and the law were your instructions:
14 Ọ bụrụkwa na unu jikeere ịnabata ya, ọ bụ ya bụ Ịlaịja ahụ, nke na a ga ịbịa.
and, if you will bear to be told it, this is the Elijah that was to come.
15 Onye ọbụla nwere ntị ịnụ ihe, ya nụrụ.
Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear.
16 “Gịnị ka m ga-eji tụnyere ndị bi nʼọgbọ a? Gịnị ka ha yiri? Ha dị ka ụmụntakịrị na-egwuri egwu nʼama, ndị na-asị ibe ha,
But to what shall I liken this generation? It is like boys in the market places, to whom their playfellows complain,
17 “‘Anyị gburu unu ọja, ma unu ekweghị ete egwu. Anyị bụụrụ unu abụ ịkwa ozu, ma unu akwaghị akwa.’
saying, We have played to you upon the pipe, but you have not danced; we have sung mournful songs to you, but you have not lamented.
18 Jọn bịara na-erighị achịcha maọbụ ihe ọṅụṅụ. Ha sịrị, ‘Mmụọ ọjọọ bi nʼime ya.’
For John came abstaining from meat and drink, and they say, He has a demon;
the Son of Man came using meat and drink, and they say, He is a lover of banquets and wine, a companion of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified by her children.
20 Mgbe ahụ ọ bidoro ịbụ obodo niile ebe ọ rụrụ ọtụtụ ọrụ ebube ọnụ, nʼihi na obodo ndị a echegharịghị.
Then he began to reproach the cities, in which most of his miracles had been performed, because they reformed not.
21 “Ahụhụ ga-adịrị gị Korazin. Ahụhụ ga-adịkwara gị Betsaida. Nʼihi na a sị na ọ bụ nʼime Taịa na Saịdọn ka a rụrụ ọrụ ebube niile a rụrụ nʼime unu, ha gaara echegharị ma gosikwa nchegharị ha site nʼiyi uwe mkpe na ikpokwasị onwe ha ntụ nʼisi.
Alas for thee, Chorazin! Alas for thee, Bethsaida! for if the miracles which have been performed in you, had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they had reformed long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
22 Nʼezie asị m unu na ọ ga-adịrị unu njọ nʼụbọchị ikpe ahụ karịa obodo Taịa na Saịdọn.
Know, therefore, that the condition of Tyre and Sidon, on the day of judgment, shall be more tolerable than yours.
23 Ma gị Kapanọm bụ obodo a na-asọpụrụ, a ga-ebuli gị elu ruo eluigwe? Mba, ị ga-arịdaru ọkụ ala mmụọ. Nʼihi na a sị na a rụrụ ọrụ ebube m rụrụ nʼime gị nʼobodo Sọdọm, a garaghị ala ya nʼiyi. Ọ gaara adịrị ruo taa. (Hadēs )
And thou, Capernaum, which hast been exalted to heaven, shalt be brought down to Hades; for, if the miracles which have been performed in thee, had been performed in Sodom, it had remained till now. (Hadēs )
24 Nʼezie asị m unu, ọ ga-adịrị unu njọ nʼụbọchị ikpe ahụ karịa obodo Sọdọm.”
Know, therefore, that the condition of Sodom, on the day of judgment, shall be more tolerable than thine.
25 Nʼoge ahụ, Jisọs kwuru sị, “Nna, Onyenwe eluigwe na ụwa, ana m ekele gị, nʼihi na ị zonarịrị ndị ọkachamara eziokwu ahụ, ma kpughee ya nye ụmụntakịrị.
On that occasion Jesus said, I adore thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because, having concealed these things from sages and the learned, thou hast revealed them to babes:
26 E, Nna m, ọ tọrọ gị ụtọ ime ya nʼụzọ dị otu a.
yes, Father, because such is thy pleasure.
27 “Nna m enyefeela m ihe niile nʼaka. Ọ dịghị onye maara Ọkpara ahụ ma ọ bụghị Nna ya. Ọ dịkwaghị onye maara Nna karịa Ọkpara ahụ na ndị Ọkpara ahụ kwadoro igosi Nna ya.
My Father has imparted everything to me; and no one knows the Son, except the Father; neither knows any one the Father, except the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.
28 “Bịakwutenụ m unu niile ndị na-adọgbu onwe unu nʼọrụ, ndị e bokwasịrị ibu dị arọ. Aga m enyekwa unu izuike.
Come to me, all you who toil and are burdened, and I will give you rest.
29 Nyaranụ yokunke m nʼolu unu, mụtakwanụ ihe site nʼaka m. Nʼihi na adị m nwayọọ, bụrụkwa onye dị umeala nʼobi. Unu ga-achọtakwara mkpụrụobi unu izuike.
Take my yoke upon you, and be taught by me; for I am meek and condescending: and your souls shall find relief.
30 Nʼihi na yoku m dị mfe, ibu m adịghịkwa arọ.”
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
