Luk 7
1 Mgbe o kwusiri okwu ndị a nye ndị na-ege ya ntị, ọ banyere na Kapanọm.
Now when he had ended all his sayings in the hearing of the people, he entered into Capernaum.
2 Ma e nwere otu ọchịagha nke nwere otu ohu nwoke ọ hụrụ nʼanya. Onye nọ nʼọrịa na nʼọnụ ọnwụ.
And a certain centurion’s servant, who was dear to him, was sick, and ready to die.
3 Mgbe ọ nụrụ ihe banyere Jisọs, o zipụrụ ụfọdụ ndị okenye ndị Juu ka ha gaa rịọrọ ya ka ọ bịa gwọọ ohu ya.
And when he heard of Jesus, he sent to him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.
4 Mgbe ha bịakwutere Jisọs, ha rịọsiri ya arịrịọ ike sị, “O kwesiri ka i mere ya ihe a.
And when they came to Jesus, they besought him earnestly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:
5 Nʼihi na ọ hụrụ obodo anyị nʼanya. O wukwaara anyị ụlọ ekpere.”
For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.
6 Jisọs sooro ha gawa. Ma mgbe ọ nọ nso nʼụlọ ya, onye ọchịagha ahụ zipụrụ ndị enyi ya ka ha ga sị ya, “Onyenwe anyị, esogbukwala onwe gị, nʼihi na etorughị m ka ị bata nʼokpuru ụlọ m.
Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying to him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:
7 Ọ bụ ya mere na-echeghị m na m toruru ịpụta bịa zute gị. Ma kwuo okwu, ọ ga-agwọkwa odibo m.
Therefore neither thought I myself worthy to come to thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.
8 Nʼihi na mụ onwe m bụkwa onye nọ nʼokpuru ikike ọchịchị, nwee ndị agha nọ nʼokpuru m. Ana m asị onye nke a ‘gaa,’ ọ gaa, sịkwa onye nke ọzọ ‘bịa,’ Ọ bịa. Ana m asị ohu m, ‘mee nke a,’ ọ na-emekwa ya.”
For I also am a man placed under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say to one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
9 Mgbe Jisọs nụrụ okwu niile a, o juru ya anya nke ukwuu. Ọ tụgharịrị gwa igwe mmadụ ndị na-eso ya sị, “Asị m unu, ahụbeghị m okwukwe dị otu a ọ bụladị nʼIzrel.”
When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned himself about, and said to the people that followed him, I say to you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
10 Mgbe ndị ozi ahụ laghachiri nʼụlọ, ha chọpụtara na ahụ adịla ohu ahụ mma.
And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant well that had been sick.
11 O ruo mgbe nwa oge gasịrị, ọ gara nʼobodo a na-akpọ Nain. Ndị na-eso ụzọ ya na ọtụtụ igwe mmadụ ndị ọzọ sooro ya gaa.
And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and many people.
12 Mgbe ọ na-abịaru nso nʼọnụ ụzọ e si abata nʼobodo ahụ, o nwere otu nwoke nwụrụ anwụ nke a na-ebupụ, otu nwa nke nne ya mụrụ. Nne ya ahụ bụ nwanyị di ya nwụrụ, oke igwe mmadụ si nʼobodo ahụ sonyekwara ya.
Now when he came near to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and many people of the city were with her.
13 Mgbe Onyenwe anyị hụrụ ya, o meere ya obi ebere ma sị ya, “Ebela akwa.”
And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said to her, Weep not.
14 Mgbe ahụ ọ gara nso metụ igbe ozu ahụ aka, ndị bu ya kwụsịrị. Ọ sịrị, “Nwokorobịa, asị m gị bilie!”
And he came and touched the bier: and they that bore him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say to thee, Arise.
15 Nwoke ahụ nwụrụ anwụ biliri, nọdụ ala, bido ikwu okwu, ọ kpọnyere ya nne ya.
And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.
16 Egwu tụrụ ha niile, ha tokwara Chineke sị, “Onye amụma dị ukwuu apụtala nʼetiti anyị, Chineke abịala inyere ndị ya aka!”
And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet hath risen among us; and, That God hath visited his people.
17 Akụkọ a banyere ya ruru Judịa niile na obodo nta niile gbara ya gburugburu.
And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judaea, and throughout all the surrounding region.
18 Ndị na-eso ụzọ Jọn kọọrọ ya maka ihe ndị a niile. Jọn kpọrọ mmadụ abụọ nʼime ndị na-eso ụzọ ya,
And the disciples of John reported to him of all these things.
19 zie ha ka ha jekwuru Onyenwe anyị jụọ ya ajụjụ sị, “Ọ bụ gị bụ onye ahụ ga-abịa. Ka anyị ga-ele anya ọbịbịa onye ọzọ?”
And John calling two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?
20 Mgbe ụmụ nwoke ahụ bịakwutere ya, ha sịrị, “Jọn omee baptizim ziri anyị ka anyị jụọ gị sị, ‘Ọ bụ gị bụ onye ahụ ga-abịa ka anyị ga-ele anya ọbịbịa onye ọzọ?’”
When the men had come to him, they said, John the Baptist hath sent us to thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?
21 Mgbe ahụ ọ gwọrọ ọtụtụ ndị nwere ọrịa, na nrịa nrịa dị iche iche, na mmụọ ọjọọ. O mekwara ka ọtụtụ ndị kpuru ìsì hụ ụzọ ọzọ.
And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and afflictions, and of evil spirits; and to many that were blind he gave sight.
22 Ọ zaghachiri ndị ozi ahụ sị, “Laghachinụ azụ gaa kọrọ Jọn ihe unu hụrụ na nke unu nụrụ; ndị kpuru ìsì na-ahụ ụzọ, ndị ngwụrọ na-aga ije, ndị ekpenta ka a na-eme ka ha dị ọcha, ndị ntị chiri na-anụ ihe, a na-eme ka ndị nwụrụ anwụ si nʼọnwụ bilie, a na-ezisara ndị ogbenye oziọma.
Then Jesus answering said to them, Go, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; that the blind see, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.
23 Ngọzị na-adịrị onye ahụ na-enweghị ihe mkpasu iwe nʼihi m.”
And blessed is he, who shall not be offended because of me.
24 Mgbe ndị na-eso ụzọ Jọn pụrụ, Jisọs bidoro ịgwa igwe mmadụ ahụ okwu banyere Jọn sị, “Gịnị ka unu gara nʼọzara ịhụ? Ọ bụ ahịhịa achara nke ikuku na-ebugharị?
And when the messengers of John had departed, he began to speak to the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?
25 Ma gịnị ka unu pụrụ ịga ịhụ? Ọ bụ nwoke yi uwe mara mma? E e, ndị na-eyi uwe dị oke ọnụahịa, ndị na-ebikwa nʼoke oriri na oke ọṅụṅụ bi nʼụlọeze.
But what went ye out to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they who are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings’ courts.
26 Ma gịnị ka unu pụrụ ka unu ga-ahụ? Ọ bụ onye amụma? E, ana m a gwa unu, unu hụrụ onye karịrị onye amụma.
But what went ye out to see? A prophet? Yea, I say to you, and much more than a prophet.
27 Ọ bụ onye a bụ onye ahụ e dere ihe banyere ya sị, “‘Aga m ezipu onyeozi m nʼihu gị, onye ga-edozi ụzọ gị nʼihu gị.’
This is he, concerning whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way before thee.
28 Agwa m unu, nʼetiti ndị nwanyị mụrụ, ọ dịghị onye dị ukwuu karịa Jọn, ma onye dịkarịsịrị nta nʼalaeze Chineke dị ukwuu karịa ya.”
For I say to you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.
29 (Ndị mmadụ niile nụrụ nke a, tinyekwara ndị ọna ụtụ, nabatara nʼụzọ Chineke bụ nke ziri ezi, nʼihi na Jọn emela ha baptizim.
And all the people that heard him, and the tax collectors, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.
30 Ma ndị Farisii na ndị ozizi iwu jụrụ imezu ebumnobi Chineke nye ha onwe ha, nʼihi na ha anabataghị ka Jọn mee ha baptizim.)
But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized by him.
31 Ọ gara nʼihu sị ha, “Ma gịnị ka m ga-eji tụnyere ndị bi nʼọgbọ a? Gịnị ka ha yiri?
And the Lord said, To what then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like?
32 Ha dị ka ụmụntakịrị nọ nʼọma ahịa na-akpọ ibe ha oku na-asị, “‘Anyị gburu unu ọja, ma unu adịghị ete egwu. Anyị bụrụ abụ ịkwa ozu, ma unu ebeghị akwa.’
They are like children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped to you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.
33 Nʼihi na Jọn omee baptizim bịara na-erighị achịcha maọbụ ṅụọ ihe ọṅụṅụ ma unu sịrị, ‘Mmụọ ọjọọ bi nʼime ya.’
For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a demon.
34 Nwa nke Mmadụ bịara na-eri ihe oriri na-aṅụkwa ihe ọṅụṅụ, ma unu sịrị, ‘Lee, onye oke oriri na onye oke aṅụmaṅụ, enyi ndị ọna ụtụ na ndị mmehie.’
The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!
35 Ma e sitela nʼụmụ ya niile nwapụta amamihe nʼonye ziri ezi.”
But wisdom is justified by all her children.
36 Otu onye nʼime ndị Farisii kpọrọ ya oriri. Ọ gara nʼụlọ onye Farisii ahụ, ma nọdụ ala nʼoche nri.
And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to eat.
37 Ma otu nwanyị nke bi nʼobodo ahụ, onye birila ndụ mmehie, mgbe ọ matara na ọ nọ nʼụlọ onye Farisii ahụ na-eri nri, o jiri otu karama alabasta mmanụ otite bata nʼụlọ ahụ.
And, behold, a woman in the city, who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus was eating in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,
38 Ka o guzoro nʼazụ ụkwụ ya na-ebe akwa, ọ malitere iji anya mmiri ya na-awụsa nʼụkwụ ya. O jiri agịrị isi ya hichaa anya mmiri ahụ, sutu ụkwụ ya ọnụ, ma wụsa mmanụ otite isi ụtọ ahụ na ha.
And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.
39 Mgbe onye Farisii ahụ kpọrọ ya oriri hụrụ ihe nke a, o kwuru nʼobi ya sị, “A sị na nwoke a bụ onye amụma, ọ gaara amata ụdị mmadụ nwanyị a na-emetụ ya aka bụ, na ọ bụ onye mmehie.”
Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw it, he spoke within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.
40 Jisọs zara ya sị, “Saimọn, e nwere m ihe m chọrọ ịgwa gị.” Ọ sịrị ya, “Onye ozizi gwa m ya.”
And Jesus answering said to him, Simon, I have somewhat to say to thee. And he saith, Master, say it.
41 “Ndị ikom abụọ ji onye na-ebinye ndị mmadụ ego nʼọmụrụnwa ụgwọ. Otu onye ji ya narị ego ise, onye nke ọzọ ji ya iri ego ise.
There was a certain creditor who had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.
42 Mgbe ha na-enweghị ike ịkwụghachi ụgwọ ha ji ya, ọ gbaghara ha ụgwọ ahụ. Ugbu a, onye nʼime ha ga-ahụ ya nʼanya karịa?”
And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?
43 Saimọn zara sị, “Ọ dị m ka ọ bụ onye nke ọ gbaghara ụgwọ dị ukwuu.” Ọ sịrị ya, “Ị kpeziri.”
Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said to him, Thou hast rightly judged.
44 Mgbe ahụ ọ tụgharịrị nʼebe nwanyị ahụ nọ gwa Saimọn sị, “Ị hụrụ nwanyị a? A batara nʼụlọ gị, i kunyeghị m mmiri ka m saa ụkwụ m, ma nwanyị a ejirila anya mmiri ya sachaa ụkwụ m, jirikwa agịrị isi ya hichaa ha.
And he turned to the woman, and said to Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thy house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.
45 Ị sutughị m ọnụ, ma kemgbe m batara nʼụlọ a, o zubeghị ike isutu ụkwụ m ọnụ.
Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.
46 Ị teghị m mmanụ ọbụla nʼisi, ma lee, o werela mmanụ otite isi ụtọ wụkwasị m nʼụkwụ.
My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.
47 Ya mere, ana m agwa gị sị, a gbagharala ya mmehie ya niile o mehiere, nʼihi na ọ nwere ịhụnanya dị ukwuu. Ma onye nwetara mgbaghara dị nta, na-enwe ịhụnanya dị nta.”
Therefore I say to thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.
48 Mgbe ahụ ọ gwara ya sị, “A gbagharala gị mmehie gị.”
And he said to her, Thy sins are forgiven.
49 Ma ndị ọzọ soro ya nọdụ na-eri nri bidoro ikwu nʼetiti onwe ha na-asị, “Onye bụ onye a nwere ike ọ bụladị ịgbaghara mmehie?”
And they that were eating with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also?
50 Ọ sịrị nwanyị ahụ, “Okwukwe gị azọpụtala gị, laa nʼudo.”
And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.
