1 Onyenwe anyị gwara Mosis okwu sị ya,
The Lord told Moses,
2 “Gwa ọgbakọ ụmụ Izrel niile okwu sị ha: ‘Dịnụ nsọ, nʼihi na mụ onwe m bụ Onyenwe anyị bụ Chineke unu, dị nsọ.
“Tell all the Israelites: You must be holy because I am holy; I am the Lord your God.
3 “‘Onye ọbụla nʼime unu aghaghị ịsọpụrụ nne na nna ya, debekwa iwu m nyere maka ụbọchị izuike, nʼihi na mụ onwe m bụ Onyenwe anyị Chineke unu.
Show respect for your mother and father, and keep my Sabbaths. I am the Lord your God.
4 “‘Unu akpọla isiala nye arụsị, unu emekwarala onwe unu chi ndị e ji ọla kpụọ. Mụ onwe m bụ Onyenwe anyị Chineke unu.
Don't turn to idols for help or make for metal images of gods. I am the Lord your God.
5 “‘Mgbe unu ga-achụrụ Onyenwe anyị aja udo, soronụ ụkpụrụ m nyere unu chụọ ya, ka m nabata ya.
When you sacrifice a peace offering to the Lord, make sure you do it correctly so God will accept you.
6 Unu ga-eri ya nʼụbọchị ahụ unu chụrụ ya, maọbụ nʼụbọchị nke na-eso ụbọchị ahụ. Nke ọbụla fọdụrụ ruo ụbọchị nke atọ ka unu ga-esure ọkụ.
It needs to be eaten the day you sacrifice it, or the next day. Whatever is left over on the third day must be burned.
7 Ọ bụrụ na unu erie ya nʼụbọchị nke atọ ihe arụ ka ọ bụ. A gaghị anabata aja ọbụla unu ga-eri nʼụbọchị nke atọ.
If you do eat some of it on the third day, the sacrifice becomes repulsive and won't be accepted.
8 Ikpe ga-ama onye ga-eri ya nʼụbọchị nke atọ nʼihi na o meela ka ihe nsọ Onyenwe anyị bụrụ ihe arụ. A ga-ekewapụ onye ahụ site nʼetiti ndị ya.
Anyone who eats it eats it will bear responsibility for their guilt, for they have made unclean what is holy to the Lord. They must be expelled from their people.
9 “‘Mgbe unu na-ewe ihe ubi, unu ewechala ihe niile dị nʼakụkụ ubi niile, maọbụ chịkọtachaa irighiri ihe ubi niile fọdụrụ nʼala.
When you harvest the crops grown on your land, don't harvest right up to the edges of your field, or collect what has been missed.
10 A ghọrọchakwala mkpụrụ vaịnị niile mịrị nʼelu vaịnị gị, maọbụ chịkọrọ mkpụrụ ndị dara nʼala. Hapụrụ ha ụmụ ogbenye na ndị ọbịa, nʼihi na mụ onwe m bụ Onyenwe anyị Chineke unu.
Don't take every last grape from your vineyard or pick up the ones that have fallen. Leave them for the poor people and foreigners. I am the Lord your God.
11 “‘Unu ezula ohi. “‘Unu aghala ụgha. “‘Unu aghọgbula ibe unu.
Don't steal. Don't lie. Don't deceive each other.
12 “‘Unu aṅụla iyi ụgha, si otu a weta nkọcha nye aha Onyenwe anyị Chineke unu. Abụ m Onyenwe anyị.
Don't swear oaths in my name that are not true, otherwise you defame the character of your God. I am the Lord.
13 “‘Unu ejila ike pụnara onye agbataobi unu ihe ya, maọbụ zuru ihe o nwere nʼohi. “‘Kwụọnụ onye ọbụla unu goro ọrụ ụgwọ ọrụ ya ọsịịsọ. Unu echela ka chi bọọ tupu unu akwụọ ya ụgwọ ya.
Don't cheat others or rob them. Don't refuse to pay wages due to workers until the morning.
14 “‘Akọchala onye ntị chiri, edochikwarala onye ìsì ihe nʼụzọ. Tụọ egwu Chineke. Abụ m Onyenwe anyị.
Don't speak badly about deaf people. Don't put objects in the way of blind people to trip them up. Instead show respect to your God. I am the Lord.
15 “‘Unu ekpela ikpe na-ezighị ezi, unu elela mmadụ anya nʼihu mgbe unu na-ekpe ikpe, ma onye unu na-ekpe ikpe ọ bụ ọgaranya maọbụ ogbenye. Kama kpeenụ ikpe kwụ ọtọ.
Don't be a corrupt judge. Don't show favoritism to the poor or to the rich. Judge others fairly.
16 “‘Unu ejegharịla na-agbasa okwu nkwujọ nʼetiti ndị mmadụ. “‘Emela ihe ọbụla ga-ebutere onye agbataobi gị ọnwụ. Abụ m Onyenwe anyị.
Don't go around spreading false rumors about people. Don't keep quiet when the lives of others are at risk. I am the Lord.
17 “‘Akpọla nwanne gị asị nʼime obi gị. Tụọ onye agbataobi gị mmehie ya nʼihu ya, ka ị ghara iketa oke nʼikpe ọmụma dịrị ya.
Don't hold onto hateful feelings towards others. Talk honestly with your neighbors, so that you don't sin because of them.
18 “‘Abọla ọbọ, ebukwala iro nʼobi megide onye ọbụla nʼetiti ndị gị. Kama hụ onye agbataobi gị nʼanya dịka i si hụ onwe gị nʼanya. Mụ onwe m bụ Onyenwe anyị unu.
Don't look for revenge or hold a grudge against anybody, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.
19 “‘Unu ga-edebe iwu m niile. “‘Unu ejila otu ụdị anụ ụlọ unu na-agba ụdị anụ ụlọ ọzọ dị iche. “‘Akụla ụdị mkpụrụ abụọ nʼubi. “‘Eyila uwe e ji ụzọ ihe abụọ, dịka ajị anụ na ogho dụọ.
Do what I tell you! Don't make different kinds of livestock breed together. Don't sow your fields with two different kinds of seed. Don't wear clothes made of two different kinds of material.
20 “‘Ọ bụrụ na nwoke ọbụla akpọrọ nwaagbọghọ bụ ohu nwanyị nke a na-agbapụtabeghị, maọbụ nke na-enwerebeghị onwe ya, nke nwoke ọzọ chọrọ ịlụ, mee ka ha abụọ dinakọọ, a ga-ekpe ha abụọ ikpe nʼụlọikpe, ma a gaghị egbu ha, nʼihi na nwanyị ahụ abụghị onye nwe onwe ya.
If a man has sex with a servant girl promised to become another man's wife, but who hasn't yet been bought or set free, then compensation has to be paid. However, they are not to be killed, because she hadn't been set free.
21 Ma nwoke ahụ ga-eweta aja ikpe ọmụma nye Onyenwe anyị nʼọnụ ụzọ ụlọ nzute. Ọ ga-abụkwa ebule ka ọ ga-eji chụọ aja ahụ.
But the man must bring a ram as his guilt offering to the Lord at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting.
22 Onye nchụaja ga-eji ebule aja ikpe ọmụma ahụ chụọrọ nwoke ahụ aja mkpuchi mmehie ya nʼihu Onyenwe anyị, nʼihi mmehie o mere. A ga-agbaghakwara ya mmehie ya.
The priest will set things right for him before the Lord using the ram of the guilt offering for the sin he has committed, and his sin will be forgiven.
23 “‘Mgbe unu batara nʼala ahụ kụọ mkpụrụ osisi dị iche iche, unu erila mkpụrụ osisi ahụ mịrị nʼafọ nke mbụ, ọ bụ ihe rụrụ arụ. Ruo nʼafọ nke atọ, ha bụ ihe rụrụ arụ. Unu agaghị eri ha.
When you enter the land and plant any kind of fruit tree, treat the fruit at first as unclean. For three years you are forbidden to eat it.
24 Nʼafọ nke anọ, mkpụrụ nke osisi ndị ahụ niile ga-amị dị nsọ. Unu ga-eji ya nye Onyenwe anyị onyinye otuto.
The fourth year all the fruit must be dedicated to the Lord as a praise offering.
25 Site nʼafọ nke ise, mkpụrụ ọbụla ga-abụ nke unu. Nʼụzọ dị otu a ihe ha ga-amịpụta ga-adị ukwuu. Mụ onwe m bụ Onyenwe anyị Chineke unu.
However, the fifth year you may eat the fruit and in this way you will have an even greater harvest. I am the Lord your God.
26 “‘Unu erila anụ ọbụla ọbara dị nʼime ya. “‘Unu agbala afa maọbụ jụta mmụọ ase.
Don't eat meat with blood in it. Don't use fortune-telling or witchcraft.
27 “‘Unu akpụchala agịrị isi dị gburugburu akụkụ isi unu, maọbụ chabie ọnụ ọnụ afụọnụ unu.
Don't cut your hair on the sides of your head or trim the sides of your beard,
28 “‘Unu akala ihe ọbụla nʼahụ unu, nʼihi onye nwụrụ anwụ maọbụ jiri mma ọkụ dee ihe nʼahụ unu. Abụ m Onyenwe anyị.
don't cut your bodies in some pagan ritual for the dead, and don't get yourselves tattoos. I am the Lord.
29 “‘Emerụla nwa gị nwanyị site nʼịkwagide ya ka ọ bụrụ akwụna, ka ala unu ghara ijupụta nʼịgba akwụna na ihe ọjọọ dị iche iche.
Don't bring shame on your daughter by making her a prostitute, otherwise the land will become morally and spiritually depraved.
30 “‘Debenụ iwu niile m nyere maka ụbọchị izuike m. Sọpụkwaranụ ebe nsọ m. Abụ m Onyenwe anyị.
Keep my Sabbaths and show respect for my sanctuary. I am the Lord.
31 “‘Unu ejekwurula ndị na-ajụ mmụọ ọjọọ ase maọbụ chọgaa ndị dibịa afa, nʼihi na unu ga-emerụ onwe site na ha. Mụ onwe m bụ Onyenwe anyị Chineke unu.
Don't try and find help from mediums or spiritists—don't even go looking for them, otherwise they will corrupt you. I am the Lord your God.
32 “‘Bilienụ ọtọ nʼihu okenye, sọpụrụnụ ndị okenye, ma tụọnụ egwu Chineke unu. Abụ m Onyenwe anyị.
Stand up and be respectful of older people. Show reverence for your God. I am the Lord.
33 “‘Mgbe onye ọbịa soro unu biri nʼala unu, unu emejọla ya.
Don't mistreat foreigners who live in your country.
34 Mesonụ onye ọbịa bi nʼetiti unu mmeso dịka ọ bụ otu nʼime ndị amụrụ nʼala. Hụnụ ha nʼanya dịka unu si hụ onwe unu, nʼihi na o nwere oge unu bụ ọbịa nʼala Ijipt. Abụ m Onyenwe anyị Chineke unu.
Treat them in the same way as a fellow citizen, and love them as you love yourself, because you were once foreigners living in Egypt. I am the Lord your God.
35 “‘Unu ejila ihe ọtụtụ aghụghọ mgbe unu na-atụ ihe dị ogologo, maọbụ ihe dị arọ, maọbụ ihe dị ukwuu,
Don't use dishonest weights and measures.
36 Jirinụ ezi ihe ọtụtụ tụọ ogologo, maọbụ ihe dị arọ, maọbụ ihe dị ukwuu. Abụ m Onyenwe anyị Chineke unu, onye si nʼala Ijipt kpọpụta unu.
Make sure your scales and weights are accurate, that your measures of ephah and hin are correct. I am the Lord your God who led you out of Egypt.
37 “‘Debenụ ụkpụrụ m niile, na iwu m niile, gbasoonụ ha. Abụ m Onyenwe anyị.’”
Keep all my rules and regulations, and make sure you follow them. I am the Lord.”
