< Ndị Ikpe 4 >
1 Mgbe Ehud nwụsịrị, ụmụ Izrel mekwara ihe ọjọọ megide Onyenwe anyị.
And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of Yhwh, when Ehud was dead.
2 Nʼihi ya, Onyenwe anyị renyere ha nʼaka Jabin, eze Kenan, onye chịrị nʼobodo Hazọ. Aha onyeisi ndị agha ya bụ Sisera, onye bi nʼobodo a na-akpọ Heroshet Hagoyim.
And Yhwh sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, that reigned in Hazor; the captain of whose army was Sisera, which dwelt in Harosheth of the Gentiles.
And the children of Israel cried unto Yhwh: for he had nine hundred chariots of iron; and twenty years he mightily oppressed the children of Israel.
4 Nʼoge a, Debọra, bụ nwanyị na-ebu amụma, nwunye Lapidọt bụ onyendu ụmụ Izrel.
And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time.
5 Ọ na-anọ nʼokpuru osisi nkwụ a na-akpọ Nkwụ Debọra, nke dị nʼagbata Rema na Betel, bụ nʼala ugwu ugwu Ifrem na-ekpe ikpe.
And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Beth–el in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.
6 O ziri ozi kpọọ Barak, nwa Abinoam, onye bi nʼobodo Kedesh, nke dị nʼime Naftalị, ọ sịrị ya, “Onyenwe anyị Chineke ụmụ Izrel na-enye gị iwu, ‘Gaa chịkọtaa puku ndị agha iri bụ ndị sitere nʼebo Naftalị na Zebụlọn, duru ha jeruo ugwu Taboa.
And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedesh–naphtali, and said unto him, Hath not Yhwh God of Israel commanded, saying, Go and draw toward mount Tabor, and take with thee ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun?
And I will draw unto thee to the river Kishon Sisera, the captain of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into thine hand.
8 Barak sịrị ya, “Ejikeere m ịga ma ọ bụrụ na ị ga-eso m. Ọ bụrụkwanụ na ị jụ iso m, agaghị m aga.”
And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go.
9 Debọra sịrị, “Aghaghị m isoro gị jee ma nʼihi mkpebi gị nʼihe a, nsọpụrụ agaghị abụ nke gị, nʼihi na Onyenwe anyị ga-enyefe Sisera nʼaka nwanyị.” Ya mere, Debọra biliri soro Barak jee obodo Kedesh.
And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for Yhwh shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.
10 Barak sitere nʼebo Zebụlọn na Naftalị kpọkọtaa ndị ikom ga-eso ya jee agha ahụ, puku ndị agha iri ndị dịnyere ya. Debọra sokwa ya jee.
And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh; and he went up with ten thousand men at his feet: and Deborah went up with him.
11 Nʼoge a, Heba, onye Ken, ahapụla ndị Ken ndị ọzọ, ndị bụ ụmụ ụmụ Hobab, nwanne nwunye Mosis gaa maa ụlọ ikwu ya nʼokpuru osisi ukwu dị na Zaananim, nke dị nso Kedesh.
Now Heber the Kenite, which was of the children of Hobab the father in law of Moses, had severed himself from the Kenites, and pitched his tent unto the plain of Zaanaim, which is by Kedesh.
12 Mgbe ha gwara Sisera na Barak nwa Abinoam arịgorola nʼelu ugwu Taboa,
And they shewed Sisera that Barak the son of Abinoam was gone up to mount Tabor.
13 Sisera kpọkọtara ndị agha ya niile, tinyere narị ụgbọ agha itoolu ya, site na Haroshet Haroyim gaa nʼiyi ukwu Kishọn.
And Sisera gathered together all his chariots, even nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the people that were with him, from Harosheth of the Gentiles unto the river of Kishon.
14 Mgbe ahụ, Debọra sịrị Barak, “Gaa nʼihu! Taa bụ ụbọchị nke Onyenwe anyị nyefere Sisera nʼaka gị. Ọ bụ na Onyenwe anyị apụbeghị jee nʼihu gị?” Nʼihi nke a, Barak duuru puku ndị agha iri ahụ gbada ndịda ugwu Taboa.
And Deborah said unto Barak, Up; for this is the day in which Yhwh hath delivered Sisera into thine hand: is not Yhwh gone out before thee? So Barak went down from mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.
And Yhwh discomfited Sisera, and all his chariots, and all his army, with the edge of the sword before Barak; so that Sisera lighted down off his chariot, and fled away on his feet.
But Barak pursued after the chariots, and after the army, unto Harosheth of the Gentiles: and all the army of Sisera fell upon the edge of the sword; and there was not a man left.
17 Ma Sisera gbapụrụ ọsọ gaa zoo onwe ya nʼụlọ ikwu Jael, nwunye Heba, onye Ken. Nʼihi udo dị nʼetiti eze Jabin, onye Hazọ, na ndị ezinaụlọ Heba, onye Ken.
Howbeit Sisera fled away on his feet to the tent of Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite: for there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.
And Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said unto him, Turn in, my lord, turn in to me; fear not. And when he had turned in unto her into the tent, she covered him with a mantle.
19 Mgbe ahụ, ọ sịrị ya, “Akpịrị na-akpọ m nkụ, nyetụ m mmiri ka m ṅụọ.” O meghere karama akpụkpọ mmiri ara ehi, nye ya ihe ọṅụṅụ, jirikwa akwa ahụ sachie ya.
And he said unto her, Give me, I pray thee, a little water to drink; for I am thirsty. And she opened a bottle of milk, and gave him drink, and covered him.
20 Sisera gwara nwanyị ahụ bụ Jael okwu sị, “Guzo nʼọnụ ụzọ ụlọ a. Ọ bụrụ na onye ọbụla abịa jụọ gị, ‘O nwere onye gbabatara nʼebe a?’ sị ya, ‘Mba.’”
Again he said unto her, Stand in the door of the tent, and it shall be, when any man doth come and enquire of thee, and say, Is there any man here? that thou shalt say, No.
21 Ike gwụrụ nnọọ Sisera. Mgbe ahụ, ọ malitere ịrahụ ụra, Jael, nwunye Heba, wepụtara otu ǹtu e ji a kpọgide ụlọ ikwu ahụ nʼala, werekwa mkpirisi igwe nʼaka ya. O jiri nwayọọ jekwuuru Sisera ebe o dina na-arahụ ụra, kpọọ ya ǹtu ahụ nʼegedege ihu ya. Otu a ka Sisera si nwụọ.
Then Jael Heber’s wife took a nail of the tent, and took an hammer in her hand, and went softly unto him, and smote the nail into his temples, and fastened it into the ground: for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died.
And, behold, as Barak pursued Sisera, Jael came out to meet him, and said unto him, Come, and I will shew thee the man whom thou seekest. And when he came into her tent, behold, Sisera lay dead, and the nail was in his temples.
23 Nʼụbọchị ahụ, Chineke meriri Jabin, eze ndị Kenan nʼihu ụmụ Izrel.
So God subdued on that day Jabin the king of Canaan before the children of Israel.
24 Aka ụmụ Izrel bụ nke dị ike na-adịkwa ike nke ukwu megide Jabin bụ eze Kenan ruo mgbe ha lara ya nʼiyi.
And the hand of the children of Israel prospered, and prevailed against Jabin the king of Canaan, until they had destroyed Jabin king of Canaan.
