< Joshua 11 >
1 Mgbe Jabin eze Hazọ nụrụ nke a, o ziri ozi zigara Jobab eze ndị Madọn, zigakwara ndị eze obodo Shịmrọn na Akshaf,
When Jabin, king of Hazor, heard this, he sent a message to Jobab, king of Madon, to the king of Shimron, and to the king of Akshaph.
He also sent the message to the kings who were in the northern hill country, in the Jordan River valley south of Kinnereth, in the lowlands, and in Naphoth Dor to the west.
He also sent a message to the Canaanites to the east and west, the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites in the hill country, and the Hivites by Mount Hermon in the land of Mizpah.
4 Ndị eze a niile kwekọrịtara chịkọtaa ndị agha ha niile nʼotu. Ndị agha ha chịkọtara dị ukwuu dịka aja dị nʼakụkụ osimiri. Ha ji ọtụtụ ịnyịnya na ọtụtụ ụgbọ agha.
All their armies came out with them, a great number of soldiers, in number like the sand on the seashore. They had a great number of horses and chariots.
5 Eze ndị a niile zukọrọ maa ụlọ ikwu ha nʼakụkụ mmiri Merọm, maka ibuso Izrel agha.
All these kings met at the appointed time, and they camped at the waters of Merom to wage war with Israel.
6 Ma Onyenwe anyị sịrị Joshua, “Atụla ha egwu, nʼihi na echi, nʼoge dịka ugbu a, aga m ewere ha niile nʼọnọdụ ndị egburu egbu nyefee ha nʼaka Izrel. Ị ga-ebipụ nkwonkwo ụkwụ ịnyịnya ha niile, kpọọkwa ụgbọ agha ha niile ọkụ.”
Yahweh said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid in their presence, because tomorrow at this time I am giving them all to Israel as dead men. You will hamstring their horses, and you will burn their chariots.”
Joshua and all the men of war came. They arrived suddenly at the waters of Merom, and attacked the enemy.
8 Onyenwe anyị nyefere ndị agha ha nʼaka ndị Izrel, ndị lụgburu ha, chụọ ha ọsọ ruo nʼoke ala Saịdọn, ruokwa ebe a na-akpọ Mizrefot Maim, na ruo nʼakụkụ ọwụwa anyanwụ, nʼime Ndagwurugwu Mizpa. Ya mere, o nweghị ọ bụladị otu onye iro a hapụrụ ndụ nʼagha ahụ.
Yahweh gave the enemy into the hand of Israel, and they struck them and pursued them to Sidon, Misrephoth Maim, and to the Valley of Mizpah to the east. They struck them until not even one survivor of them was left.
Joshua did to them just as Yahweh told him. He hamstrung the horses and burned the chariots.
10 Mgbe ahụ, Joshua laghachiri azụ busoo Hazọ agha merie ya, were mma agha gbuo eze ya, nʼihi na Hazọ bụrịị isi obodo alaeze ahụ niile.
Joshua turned back at that time and captured Hazor. He struck its king with the sword. (Hazor had been head of all these kingdoms.)
11 Ha ji mma agha gbuo ndị niile bi nʼobodo ahụ, bibie ha kpamkpam, ọ dịghị onye a hapụrụ nke na-eku ume. O sukwara Hazọ ọkụ.
They struck with the sword every living creature that was there, and he set them apart to be destroyed, so there was not any living creature left alive. Then he burned Hazor.
12 Joshua weere obodo niile nke ndị eze ahụ na ndị eze ha niile, jiri mma agha gbuchapụ ha. Ọ lakwara ha niile nʼiyi, dịka Mosis onyeozi Onyenwe anyị nyere nʼiwu.
Joshua captured all the cities of these kings. He also captured all their kings and struck them with the edge of the sword. He completely destroyed them with the edge of the sword, just as Moses the servant of Yahweh had commanded.
13 Ma ndị Izrel esughị obodo ọbụla nʼime ndị ahụ niile e wuru na mkputamkpu ala ọkụ, karịakwa obodo Hazọ, nke Joshua kpọrọ ọkụ.
Israel did not burn any of the cities built on mounds, except Hazor. It alone Joshua burned.
14 Ihe niile a kwatara nʼagha nʼobodo ndị a, na anụ ụlọ ha niile, ka ndị Izrel weere. Ma ha gburu mmadụ niile. Ha ahapụghị ọ bụladị otu onye ndụ.
The army of Israel took all the plunder from these cities along with the livestock for themselves. They killed every human being with the edge of the sword until all were dead. They left alive no creature that breathed.
15 Nʼihi na nke a bụ iwu Onyenwe anyị nyere Mosis onyeozi ya. Mosis nyekwara Joshua otu iwu a. Ugbu a Joshua emeela dịka a gwara ya. O mezuru ihe ndị a niile, bụ nke Onyenwe anyị nyere Mosis nʼiwu.
Just as Yahweh had commanded his servant Moses, in the same way, Moses commanded Joshua, and so Joshua did it. He left nothing undone of all that Yahweh commanded Moses to do.
Joshua took all that land, the hill country, all the Negev, all the land of Goshen, the foothills, the Jordan River valley, the hill country of Israel, and the lowlands.
17 Nʼihi nke a, ala ndị Izrel nwere gbasara nʼụzọ niile site nʼugwu Halak, nke dị nso na Sia, ruo Baal-Gad nke dị na Ndagwurugwu Lebanọn, na ndịda ugwu Hemon. Joshua jidere ma gbukwaa ndị eze ndị ala ahụ niile.
From Mount Halak near Edom, and going north as far as Baal Gad in the valley near Lebanon below Mount Hermon, he captured all their kings and killed them.
18 O were Joshua ogologo oge imeri obodo ndị a niile na eze ha nʼagha.
Joshua waged war for a long time with all the kings.
19 Ọ dịkwaghị obodo ọzọ e mere ka ha na ụmụ Izrel dị nʼudo karịa naanị ndị Hiv, ndị bi na Gibiọn. Obodo ndị ọzọ niile ka a lara nʼiyi.
Not one city made peace with the army of Israel except the Hivites who lived in Gibeon. Israel captured all the rest of the cities in battle.
For it was Yahweh who hardened their hearts so they would wage war against Israel, so that he might completely destroy them without mercy, just as he had instructed Moses.
O gburu ha niile, laa obodo ha nʼiyi.
Then Joshua came at that time and he destroyed the Anakim. He did this in the hill country, at Hebron, Debir, Anab, and in all the hill country of Judah, and in all the hill country of Israel. Joshua completely destroyed them and their cities.
22 Ọ dịkwaghị otu onye Anak a hapụrụ ndụ nʼoke ala Izrel niile, karịakwa ndị fọdụrụ na Gaza, na Gat, na nʼime Ashdọd.
None of the Anakim were left in the land of Israel except at Gaza, Gath, and Ashdod.
23 Ya mere, Joshua meriri ala ahụ niile dịka Onyenwe anyị si nye ya Mosis nʼiwu. O nyekwara ndị Izrel ala ahụ dịka ihe nketa ha. O kenyere ha ala ahụ dịka ebo ha si dị. Site nʼoge ahụ gaa nʼihu, ala ahụ dara jụụ. Ibu agha adịghịkwa nʼime ya ọzọ.
So Joshua captured the whole land, just as Yahweh said to Moses. Joshua gave it as an inheritance to Israel, assigned to each of their tribes. Then the land had rest from the wars.
