< Jọn 9 >
1 Mgbe ọ na-agafe, ọ hụrụ otu nwoke kpuru ìsì site nʼafọ nne ya.
And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.
And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
4 Anyị aghaghị ịrụ ọrụ onye ahụ zitere m, mgbe chi ka dị, anyasị na-abịa mgbe o nweghị onye pụrụ ịrụ ọrụ.
I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
5 Dị ka m nọ nʼụwa, Abụ m ìhè nke ụwa.”
As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
6 Mgbe o kwusiri nke a, ọ bụsara ọnụ mmiri asụ nʼala gwakọta ya na aja, werekwa aja ahụ tee nwoke ahụ nʼanya.
When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,
7 Ọ gwara ya, “Gaa nʼọdọ mmiri Sailọm saa ihu gị” (nke a pụtara “Zitere”). Ọ gara saa ihu ya, lọghachita na-ahụ ụzọ.
And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, ( which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.
8 Ndị agbataobi ya na ndị nʼahụ ya nʼoge gara aga ka ọ na-arịọ arịrịọ sịrị, “Nke a, ọ bụghị nwoke ahụ na-anọdụ ala na-arịọ arịrịọ?”
The neighbours therefore, and they which before had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged?
9 Ụfọdụ na-asị, “Ọ bụ ya.” Ma ndị ọzọ na-asịkwa, “Ọ bụghị ya. Ọ bụ onye yiri ya.” Ma ọ na-asị, “Abụ m nwoke ahụ.”
Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he.
Therefore said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened?
11 Ọ zara, “Nwoke a na-akpọ Jisọs gwakọtara ụrọ tee m nʼanya. Ọ gwara m sị, ‘Gaa saa ihu gị nʼọdọ mmiri Sailọm.’ A gara m saa onwe m, malitekwa ịhụ ụzọ.”
He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight.
Then said they unto him, Where is he? He said, I know not.
13 Ha dutere nwoke ahụ kpuru ìsì na mbụ nʼihu ndị Farisii.
They brought to the Pharisees him that aforetime was blind.
14 Ma ọ bụ nʼụbọchị izuike ka Jisọs gwakọtara aja, jiri ya meghe anya ya.
And it was the sabbath day when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.
15 Ya mere, ndị Farisii jụrụ ya otu o si bido ịhụ ụzọ. Ọ sịrị ha, “Ọ gwakọtara aja tee m nʼanya, a sakwara m ihu ma ugbu a ana m ahụ ụzọ.”
Then again the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see.
16 Ụfọdụ ndị Farisii sịrị, “Nwoke a esiteghị nʼebe Chineke nọ bịa, nʼihi na ọ dịghị edebe ụbọchị izuike.” Ma ndị ọzọ na-asị, “Olee otu onye mmehie ga-esi rụọ ọrụ ịrịbama ndị dị otu a?” Nkewa dịrị nʼetiti ha.
Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.
They say unto the blind man again, What sayest thou of him, that he hath opened thine eyes? He said, He is a prophet.
18 Ma ndị Juu ahụ ekweghị na nwoke a bụ onye kpuru ìsì na mbụ, nke e mere ka ọ hụ ụzọ, tutu ruo mgbe ha kpọrọ ndị mụrụ ya.
But the Jews did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight.
19 Ha jụrụ ha sị, “Onye a ọ bụ nwa unu, onye unu na-asị na o kpuru ìsì site nʼoge a mụrụ ya? O si aṅaa ahụ ụzọ ugbu a?”
And they asked them, saying, Is this your son, who ye say was born blind? how then doth he now see?
20 Ndị mụrụ ya zara, “nke a bụ nwa anyị. Anyị matakwara na o kpuru ìsì site nʼoge anyị mụrụ ya.
His parents answered them and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind:
21 Ma otu o si ahụ ụzọ ugbu a maọbụ onye meghere anya ya, anyị amaghị. Jụọnụ ya. Ọ bụ dimkpa, ya zara ọnụ ya.”
But by what means he now seeth, we know not; or who hath opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age; ask him: he shall speak for himself.
22 Ihe a ka ndị mụrụ ya kwuru nʼihi na ha na-atụ egwu ndị Juu. Ndị kpebirila na ọ bụrụ na onye ọbụla ekwuo na Jisọs bụ Kraịst ahụ, ha ga-achụpụ onye ahụ site nʼụlọ ekpere ha.
These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.
23 Nke a mere ndị mụrụ ya jiri sị, “Ọ bụ dimkpa, unu jụọ ya.”
Therefore said his parents, He is of age; ask him.
24 Ha kpọrọ nwoke a nke ugboro abụọ, bụ onye ahụ kpuburu ìsì, sị ya, “Nye Chineke otuto. Anyị maara na nwoke a bụ onye mmehie.”
Then again called they the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner.
25 Ọ zara, “Amaghị m maọbụ onye mmehie ma ọ bụghị. Ma otu ihe ka m maara, ekpuru m ìsì na mbụ ma ugbu a ana m ahụ ụzọ.”
He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.
26 Ha sịrị ya, “Gịnị ka o mere gị? Olee otu o si meghe anya gị?”
Then said they to him again, What did he to thee? how opened he thine eyes?
He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his disciples?
Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are Moses’ disciples.
We know that God spake unto Moses: as for this fellow, we know not from whence he is.
30 Nwoke ahụ zaghachiri sị ha, “Ma otu ọ dị, nke a bụ ihe ịtụnanya! Unu amaghị ebe o sịrị bịa ma o meghere anya m.
The man answered and said unto them, Why herein is a marvellous thing, that ye know not from whence he is, and yet he hath opened mine eyes.
Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.
32 Site na mgbe e kere ụwa, ọ dịbeghị onye a nụrụ na o meghere anya onye kpuru ìsì. (aiōn )
Since the world began was it not heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind. (aiōn )
33 Ọ bụrụ na nwoke a esiteghị nʼebe Chineke nọ, ọ gaghị enwe ike ime ihe ọbụla.”
If this man were not of God, he could do nothing.
34 Ha zara sị ya, “Gị onye a mụrụ nʼime mmehie, ị na-achọ ikuziri anyị ihe?” Ha chụpụrụ ya nʼezi.
They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.
Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?
36 Ọ zara sị, “Onyenwe m, ọ bụ onye? Gwa m ka m nwe ike ikwere na ya.”
He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?
And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.
38 Ọ sịrị, “Onyenwe m, ekwela m.” Ọ kpọrọ isiala nye ya.
And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.
39 Jisọs sịrị, “Ọ bụ nʼihi ikpe ka m ji bịa nʼụwa, ka ndị na-adịghị ahụ ụzọ bido ịhụ ụzọ, na ka ndị na-ahụ ụzọ ghọọ ndị kpuru ìsì.”
And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.
40 Mgbe ụfọdụ ndị Farisii nọ nso nʼebe ahụ nụrụ nke a, ha sịrị ya, “Anyị onwe anyị, anyị bụkwa ndị kpuru ìsì?”
And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also?
41 Jisọs sịrị ha, “Ọ bụrụ na unu kpuru ìsì, ikpe ọmụma mmehie agaghị ama unu, ma ugbu a ebe unu sị na unu na-ahụ ụzọ ikpe ọmụma unu na-adịgide.”
Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.
