< Jọn 5 >

1 Mgbe nke a gasịrị, otu mmemme ndị Juu ruru, Jisọs agaa Jerusalem.
AFTER these things there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
2 Ma otu ọdọ mmiri nta dị nʼime Jerusalem nʼakụkụ Ọnụ ụzọ ama Atụrụ. Aha ọdọ mmiri ahụ nʼasụsụ Hibru bụ Betsaida, nke nwere mgbe ọnụ ụzọ ise.
Now there is at Jerusalem near the sheep-market a pool, called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porticos.
3 Nʼime ya ka igwe ndị ahụ na-esighị ike na-edina; ndị ìsì, ndị ngwụrọ, na ndị akụkụ ahụ ha kpọnwụrụ akpọnwụ, ha na-eche mgbe mmiri ahụ ga-enugharị.
In these lay a vast multitude of infirm persons, blind, lame, withered, waiting the motion of the water.
4 Nʼihi na mmụọ ozi Onyenwe anyị na-agbadata site na mgbe ruo na mgbe gbarụọ mmiri ahụ. Onye ọrịa ọbụla buru ụzọ daba nʼime mmiri ahụ ma a gbarụọ ya, ka a na-agwọ ihe ọbụla bụ ọrịa ya.
For occasionally an angel descended into the pool, and put the water into commotion: he therefore who first stepped in after the commotion of the water became well, under whatever complaint he had laboured.
5 Otu nwoke nọ nʼebe ahụ bụ onye nọrọla nʼọrịa iri afọ atọ na asatọ.
And there was a certain man there, who had a complaint of thirty years standing.
6 Mgbe Jisọs hụrụ ya, matakwa na ọ nọọla nʼọnọdụ a ogologo oge, ọ jụrụ ya sị, “Ị chọrọ ka a gwọọ gị ọrịa?”
Jesus seeing him laid there, and knowing that he had been so for a long while, saith to him, Wilt thou be made sound?
7 Onye ọrịa ahụ zara, “Nna m ukwu, enweghị m onye ọbụla ga-enyere m aka kuba m nʼime ọdọ mmiri a ma a gbarụọ ya, mgbe o bụla m chọrọ ka m danye, onye ọzọ na-eburu m ụzọ danye.”
The infirm man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is disturbed, to cast me into the pool: but when I am coming, another goeth down before me.
8 Jisọs gwara ya, “Bilie, chilie ute gị jegharịa.”
Jesus saith to him, Arise, take up thy bed, and walk.
9 Nʼotu oge ahụ, ahụ dịrị nwoke ahụ mma, ọ chịlịri ute ya, malite ijegharị. Ihe a mere nʼụbọchị izuike.
And instantly the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked away: and that day was the sabbath.
10 Ma ndị Juu gwara nwoke ahụ a gwọrọ ọrịa, “Taa bụ ụbọchị izuike, o megidere iwu na ị ga-ebu ute gị.”
The Jews therefore said to him that was cured, It is the sabbath: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.
11 Ma ọ zaghachiri ha, “Nwoke ahụ mere ka ahụ dị m mma sịrị m, ‘Chilie ute gị laa.’”
He answered them, He that made me whole, the same person said to me, Take up thy bed, and walk.
Then they asked him, Who is the man that said to thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?
13 Ma nwoke ahụ a gwọrọ amataghị onye ọ bụ nʼihi na Jisọs zoro onwe ya banye nʼetiti igwe mmadụ.
Now he that was cured knew not who he was: for Jesus had slipped away, a crowd being on the spot.
14 Emesịa, Jisọs hụrụ ya nʼime ụlọnsọ ukwu sị ya, “Lee, e mela ka ahụ dị gị mma, emehiekwala ọzọ ka nke dị njọ karịa nke a hapụ ịbịakwasị gị.”
After these things Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Take care; thou art made whole: sin no more, lest something worse befall thee.
15 Nwoke a siri nʼebe ahụ pụọ gaa gwa ndị Juu na ọ bụ Jisọs gwọrọ ya.
The man went, and informed the Jews, that it was Jesus who had made him whole.
And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to kill him, because he had done these things on the sabbath-day.
17 Jisọs sịrị ha, “Nna m na-arụ ọrụ mgbe niile ruo ugbu a, mụ onwe m kwa, ana m arụ ọrụ.”
Then Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.
18 Nʼihi nke a, ndị Juu chọsịrị ike igbu ya.
Therefore sought they the more to kill him, because he had not only broken the sabbath, but called God his own Father, setting himself on an equality with God.
19 Jisọs zara ha sị, “Nʼezie, nʼezie agwa m unu, o nweghị ihe ọbụla Ọkpara pụrụ ime nʼonwe ya; naanị ihe o nwere ike ime bụ ihe ọ hụrụ Nna ya na-eme, nʼihi na ihe ọbụla Nna ahụ na-eme ka Ọkpara ya na-emekwa.
Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing by himself, except what he hath seen the Father do: for whatsoever things he doeth, the same and in the same manner doth the Son.
For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things which he himself doeth: and greater works than these will he shew him, that ye may wonder.
For as the Father raiseth the dead, and quickeneth them; so also doth the Son quicken whom he pleases.
22 Nna anaghị ekpe onye ọbụla ikpe, kama o nyefere ikpe niile nʼaka Ọkpara.
For the Father never judgeth any man, but hath committed all judgment to the Son:
23 Ka mmadụ niile nye Ọkpara ahụ nsọpụrụ dị ka ha na-asọpụrụ Nna ahụ. Onye ọbụla nke na-adịghị asọpụrụ Ọkpara ahụ adịghị asọpụrụ Nna nke zitere ya.
in order that all may honour the Son, just as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son, doth not honour the Father who sent him.
24 “Nʼezie, nʼezie agwa m unu, onye ọbụla na-anụ okwu m ma kwerekwa nʼonye zitere m nwere ndụ ebighị ebi, a gaghị amakwa ya ikpe, ọ gafeela site nʼọnwụ banye na ndụ. (aiōnios g166)
Verily, verily, I say unto you, That he that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment; but is passed from death into life. (aiōnios g166)
25 Nʼezie, nʼezie agwa m unu, oge na-abịa, ọ bịakwala ugbu a mgbe ndị nwụrụ anwụ ga-anụ olu Ọkpara Chineke, ndị ahụ nụrụ ya ga-adịkwa ndụ.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, yea, it is now, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
26 Dị ka Nna ahụ nwere ndụ nʼime onwe ya, otu a ka o nyekwara Ọkpara ahụ ike inwe ndụ nʼime onwe ya.
For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son also to have life in himself;
27 O nyekwala ya ikike ikpe ikpe nʼihi na ọ bụ Nwa nke Mmadụ.
and hath given him authority also to execute judgment, because he is the Son of man.
28 “Ka nke a hapụ iju unu anya, nʼihi na oge na-abịa, mgbe ndị niile nọ nʼili ha ga-anụ olu ya
Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in which all who are in the graves shall hear his voice,
29 ma pụta, ndị mere ihe dị mma ga-ebili dịrị ndụ. Ma ndị mere ihe ọjọọ ga-ebili bụrụ ndị a ga-ama ikpe.
and they shall come forth; they who have done good actions to the resurrection of life; and they who have been guilty of foul practices, to the resurrection of damnation.
30 Enweghị m ike ime ihe ọbụla nʼonwe m, ikpe m na-ekpe bụ naanị dị ka m nụrụ, ikpe m bụkwa nke ziri ezi, nʼihi na anaghị m eme ihe ga-amasị m, kama ọ bụ ihe ga-amasị onye ahụ zitere m.
I am not able to perform any thing by myself: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; for I seek not my own will, but the will of my Father who sent me.
31 “Ọ bụrụ na m na-agba ama banyere onwe m, ama m abụghị eziokwu.
If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.
There is another who beareth witness of me, and I know that his witness is true which he witnesseth concerning me.
33 “Unu zigaara Jọn ndị ozi, ọ gbakwaala ama maka eziokwu ahụ.
Ye sent to John, and he bore testimony to the truth.
But I receive not testimony from man: but I speak these things, that ye may believe.
35 Ọ bụ oriọna nke na-enwu na-amụkekwa, unu họrọkwara ịṅụrị ọṅụ nʼìhè ya nʼoge nta.
He was a lamp glowing and luminous: and ye were pleased for a time to exult in his light.
36 “Ma e nwere m ama dị ukwuu karịa nke Jọn, nʼihi na ọrụ ahụ ya bụ Nna nyere m ka m rụchapụ, bụkwa nke m na-arụ, na-agbara m ama na ọ bụ Nna ahụ zitere m.
But I have a testimony greater than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me that I should fulfil them, these very works which I am doing, they bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.
And the Father who sent me, himself hath borne witness concerning me. Ye have neither at any time heard his voice, nor seen his form.
38 Okwu ya anọkwaghị nʼime unu nʼihi na unu ekweghị nʼonye o zitere.
And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.
39 Unu na-enyocha akwụkwọ nsọ nʼihi na unu chere na unu ga-esite na ha nwee ndụ ebighị ebi maọbụ ha na-agba ama banyere m. (aiōnios g166)
Search the scriptures; for ye suppose in them ye have eternal life: and these are they which testify of me. (aiōnios g166)
40 Ma unu jụrụ ịbịakwute m ka unu nwee ndụ.
And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
41 “Anaghị m anabata otuto nke ụmụ mmadụ.
I receive not glory from men.
But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.
I have come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another come in his own name, him ye will receive.
44 Olee otu unu ga-esi kwere ebe unu na-anara otuto site nʼaka ibe unu, ma unu adịghị achọ otuto nke si nʼaka onye naanị ya bụ Chineke?
How can ye believe, who receiving honour one from another, seek not the honour which cometh from God alone?
Do not suppose that I shall accuse you to my Father: there is one who is accusing you, even Moses, on whom ye place your hope.
46 Ọ bụrụ na unu kwenyeere Mosis, unu gakwara ekwere na m, nʼihi na o dere banyere m.
For if ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for of me did he write.
47 Ma ebe unu na-ekweghị nʼihe o dere, olee otu unu ga-esi kwere nʼihe m kwuru?”
But if ye believe not his writings, how will ye believe my words?
