Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene cometh early in the morning, while it was yet dark, to the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.
2 O ji ọsọ bịakwute Saimọn Pita na onye ọzọ ahụ nke na-eso ụzọ ya, bụ onye Jisọs hụrụ nʼanya sị, “Ha esitela nʼili ahụ bupụ Onyenwe anyị. Anyị amaghị ebe ha dobere ya!”
She therefore runneth and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid Him.
3 Ya mere Pita na onye nke ọzọ ahụ na-eso ụzọ ya pụrụ gawa nʼili ahụ.
Peter therefore went out, and that other disciple, and came to the sepulchre.
4 Ha abụọ jiri ọsọ na-aga, ma onye ọzọ ahụ na-eso ụzọ ya gbakarịrị Pita nʼọsọ buru ya ụzọ ruo nʼili ahụ.
So they both ran together, but the other disciple out-ran Peter, and came first to the sepulchre:
5 O hulatara ala, nyoo anya nʼime ili, hụ akwa ọcha ahụ ebe ha wụsara nʼala, ma ọ baghị nʼime.
and stooping down to look in saw the linen cloths lying; but did not go in.
6 Ya mere Saimọn Pita, onye na-eso ya nʼazụ bịarutere banye nʼime ili ahụ. Ọ hụrụ akwa ozu ahụ ka ọ wụsara nʼala,
Then cometh Simon Peter, who followed him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen cloths lying there;
7 ya na akwa nke e ji kechie ya isi. Ịchafọ a na akwa ọcha ahụ adịkọtaghị nʼotu ebe, kama a pịara ya apịa dobe ya iche nʼebe ọzọ.
and the napkin that was upon his head, not laid with the linen cloths, but folded up by itself.
8 Onye ọzọ ahụ nke na-eso ụzọ ya, onye nke buru ụzọ bịaruo nʼili banyekwara nʼime ili ahụ. Ọ hụrụ ma kwerekwa.
Then went in also the other disciple; who came first to the sepulchre, and he saw and believed.
9 (Ruo nʼoge a, ha aghọtabeghị site nʼakwụkwọ nsọ na ọ ghaghị i si nʼọnwụ bilie.)
For they did not before understand the scripture, that He must rise from the dead.
10 Emesịa ndị na-eso ụzọ ya laghachiri nʼụlọ ha.
So the two disciples went away again to their own company.
11 Ma Meri guzo nʼakụkụ ili ahụ na-ebe akwa. Mgbe ọ nọ na-ebe akwa, o hulatara ala nyoo anya nʼime ili ahụ
But Mary stood without near the sepulchre weeping: and as she wept she stooped down to look into the sepulchre; and there seeth two angels in white sitting,

one at the head, and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.
13 Ha sịrị ya, “Nwanyị, gịnị mere i ji ebe akwa?” Ọ sịrị ha, “Ha ebupụla Onyenwe m, amaghị m ebe ha bujere ya.”
And they said to her, Woman, why dost thou weep? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid Him.
14 Nʼoge a, ọ tụgharịrị hụ ka Jisọs guzo nʼebe ahụ. Ma ọ mataghị na ọ bụ Jisọs.
And having said this, she turned back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus.
15 Jisọs sịrị ya, “Nwanyị, gịnị mere iji ebe akwa? Onye ka ị na-achọ?” Ebe o chere na ọ bụ onye na-elekọta ogige ahụ, ọ sịrị ya, “Nna anyị ukwu, ọ bụrụ na ọ bụ gị bupụrụ ya, gwa m ebe i debere ya ka m gaa buru ya.”
Then said Jesus to her, Woman, why dost thou weep? whom dost thou seek? She thinking that it was the gardener, saith to Him, Sir, if thou hast carried Him hence, tell me where thou hast laid Him, and I will take Him away.
16 Jisọs sịrị ya, “Meri.” Ọ tụgharịrị tie mkpu nʼolu Hibru sị ya, “Raboni!” (nke pụtara “Onye nkuzi.)”
Jesus saith unto her, Mary: and she turned herself and said unto Him, Rabboni, that is to say, Master.
17 Jisọs sịrị ya, “Emetụkwala m aka nʼihi na alakwurubeghị m Nna m. Kama gakwuru ụmụnna m gwa ha, ‘Ana m alakwuru Nna m na Nna unu. Chineke m na Chineke unu.’”
Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not now; for I am not yet ascended to my Father; but go directly to my brethren, and tell them, "I am to ascend to my Father and your Father, and to my God and your God."
18 Meri Magdalin gara gwa ndị na-eso ụzọ ya, “Ahụla m Onyenwe anyị.” Ọ kọọrọ ha na ọ bụ ya gwara ya ihe ndị a niile.
So Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples, that she had seen the Lord, and that He had said these things to her.
19 Nʼuhuruchi nke ụbọchị ahụ, bụ ụbọchị mbụ nke izu ụka, mgbe ndị na-eso ụzọ ya zukọtara nʼime otu ụlọ. Ha mechiri ụzọ niile nʼihi egwu ndị Juu. Jisọs batara guzo nʼetiti ha sị ha, “Udo dịrị unu!”
Now the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, and the doors where the disciples were being shut, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be to you.
20 Mgbe o kwusiri nke a, o gosiri ha aka ya na akụkụ ya. Ọṅụ juru ndị na-eso ụzọ ya obi nʼihi na ha ahụla Onyenwe anyị.
And when He had said this, He shewed them his hands and his side. The disciples therefore rejoiced when they saw the Lord.
21 Ọzọkwa, Jisọs sịrị ha, “Udo dịrị unu! Dị ka Nna m si zite m, otu a ka m na-eziga unu.”
Then said Jesus unto them again, Peace be to you. As my Father sent me, even so send I you.
22 Mgbe o kwuchara nke a, o kusara ha ume sị ha, “Naranụ Mmụọ Nsọ.
And when He said this, He breathed upon them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the holy Spirit:
23 Ọ bụrụ na unu agbaghara onye ọbụla mmehie ya, a ga-agbaghara ya, ọ bụrụkwa na unu ajụ ịgbaghara ha, agaghị agbaghara ha.”
and whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; but whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.
24 Ma Tọmọs (onye a na-akpọ Didimọs), otu nʼime ndị ozi iri na abụọ ahụ, anọghị ya mgbe Jisọs bịara.
But Thomas called Didymus, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came.
25 Ya mere, ndị ọzọ na-eso ụzọ ya gwara ya, “Anyị ahụla Onyenwe anyị!” Ma ọ sịrị ha, “Ọ bụ naanị mgbe m jiri anya m hụ ebe ahụ ntu kpọpuru ya aka, tinye mkpịsịaka m nʼapa ntu ndị ahụ, ma tinyekwa aka m nʼakụkụ ya ebe ahụ a mara ya ùbe, ka m ga-ekwere.”
The other disciples therefore told him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I see in his hands the mark of the nails, and put my finger into the place of the nails, and my hand into his side, I will not believe.
26 Mgbe abalị asatọ gasịrị, ndị na-eso ụzọ ya zukọtara ọzọ. Ugbu a Tọmọs nọkwa nʼetiti ha. Nʼagbanyeghị na e mechisịrị ụzọ niile, Jisọs batara guzo nʼetiti ha sị ha, “Udo dịrị unu.”
And after eight days his disciples were again within, and Thomas with them: and Jesus came (the doors being shut as before) and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be to you.
27 Mgbe ahụ ọ sịrị Tọmọs, “Rụnye mkpịsịaka gị nʼebe a, leekwa aka m abụọ. Wepụta aka gị tinyekwa nʼakụkụ m. Abụla onye na-enweghị okwukwe, kama kwere.”
Then saith He to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands, and reach hither thy hand, and put it into my side; and be not incredulous, but believing.
28 Tọmọs zara sị ya, “Onyenwe m na Chineke m!”
And Thomas answered, and said, "My Lord and my God."
29 Ma Jisọs sịrị ya, “I kweere nʼihi na ị hụla m? Ma ngọzị dịrị ndị na-ahụghị ma kwere.”
Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
30 Ọ dị ọtụtụ ihe ịrịbama ndị ọzọ Jisọs rụrụ nʼihu ndị na-eso ụzọ ya. Ma edeghị ha nʼime akwụkwọ a.
And indeed Jesus wrought many other signs also in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:
31 Ma e dere ihe ndị a niile ka unu kwere na Jisọs bụ Kraịst, Ọkpara Chineke. Nʼihi na ọ bụ site nʼikwere ka unu ga-eji nweta ndụ ọhụrụ site nʼaha ya.
but these things are written, that ye may believe, that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye may have life through his name.
