< Job 8 >
1 Mgbe ahụ, Bildad onye Shua zaghachiri sị:
And Bildad the Shuhite answereth and saith: —
2 “Ruo ole mgbe ka i ga na-ekwu okwu dị otu a? Okwu ọnụ gị bụ naanị ifufe dị ike.
Till when dost thou speak these things? And a strong wind — sayings of thy mouth?
3 Chineke ọ na-ekpe ikpe na-ezighị ezi? Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile ọ na-eme ka ihe ziri ezi gbagọọ agbagọ?
Doth God pervert judgment? And doth the Mighty One pervert justice?
If thy sons have sinned before Him, And He doth send them away, By the hand of their transgression,
5 Ma ọ bụrụ na i ga-achọsi Chineke ike, rịọ Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile,
If thou dost seek early unto God, And unto the Mighty makest supplication,
6 ọ bụrụ na ị bụ onye dị ọcha nʼobi na onye ụzọ ya ziri ezi, ọ bụladị ugbu a, ọ ga-agbachitere gị weghachi gị nʼọnọdụ ịbụ ọgaranya gị.
If pure and upright thou [art], Surely now He waketh for thee, And hath completed The habitation of thy righteousness.
7 Ọ bụ ezie, na mmalite gị nwere ike ịdị ala, ma ụbọchị ikpeazụ gị ga-adị elu.
And thy beginning hath been small, And thy latter end is very great.
For, ask I pray thee of a former generation, And prepare to a search of their fathers,
9 Nʼihi na anyị onwe anyị bụ ndị a mụrụ naanị ụnyaahụ, ndị ọ dịghị ihe ha maara. Ụbọchị ndụ anyị nʼụwa dịka onyinyo.
(For of yesterday we [are], and we know not, For a shadow [are] our days on earth.)
Do they not shew thee — speak to thee, And from their heart bring forth words?
11 Ahịhịa papịrọs o nwere ike ito nʼebe apịtị na-adịghị? Ahịhịa riidi ọ ga-eto nʼebe mmiri na-adịghị?
'Doth a rush wise without mire? A reed increase without water?
12 Nʼihi na mgbe ha ka na-etopụta etopụta, mgbe a na-egbubibeghị ha, ha na-ebu ahịhịa ndị ọzọ ụzọ kpọnwụọ.
While it [is] in its budding — uncropped, Even before any herb it withereth.
13 Nke a bụ oke ndị na-echefu Chineke, otu a kwa ka olileanya nke onye na-amaghị Chineke si ala nʼiyi.
So [are] the paths of all forgetting God, And the hope of the profane doth perish,
14 Ihe ọ tụkwasịrị obi bụ ihe na-awa awa; ihe mgbakwasị ụkwụ ya bụ akwụ udide.
Whose confidence is loathsome, And the house of a spider his trust.
15 Ọ bụrụ na ọ dabere na ya, ọ ga-etibi; ọ bụrụ na o jide ya aka, ọ ga-adọbikwa.
He leaneth on his house — and it standeth not: He taketh hold on it — and it abideth not.
16 Ọ dị ka ahịhịa ubi a na-agba mmiri nke ọma nʼubi a gbara ogige, nke anwụ na-amụkwasị, nke ome ya na-awasa ruo akụkụ niile nke ogige ahụ.
Green he [is] before the sun, And over his garden his branch goeth out.
17 Mgbọrọgwụ ya tụhịrị gburugburu nkume ndị dị nʼubi ahụ, ma na-achọkwa ọnọdụ nʼetiti nkume ndị a.
By a heap his roots are wrapped, A house of stones he looketh for.
If [one] doth destroy him from his place, Then it hath feigned concerning him, I have not seen thee!
19 Nʼezie, ndụ ya na-akpọnwụ, site nʼala ahụ ahịhịa ndị ọzọ na-etopụtakwa.
Lo, this [is] the joy of his way, And from the dust others spring up.'
20 “Nʼezie Chineke anaghị agbakụta onye ụzọ ya ziri ezi azụ, maọbụ gbaa aka onye ajọ omume ume.
Lo, God doth not reject the perfect, Nor taketh hold on the hand of evil doers.
While he filleth with laughter thy mouth, And thy lips with shouting,
22 Ndị iro gị ka a ga-eyikwasị ihere dị ka uwe, ebe obibi nke ndị na-emebi iwu agaghị adịkwa.”
Those hating thee do put on shame, And the tent of the wicked is not!
