< Job 35 >
After this, Eliu again spoke in this way:
2 “Ị na-eche na nke a ziri ezi? Ị sịrị, ‘Na m ziri ezi ọ bụghị Chineke.’
Does it seem right to you in your thoughts, that you should say, “I am more just than God?”
3 Nʼagbanyeghị ihe ndị a, ị na-ajụ ya si, ‘Uru gịnị ka ọ baara m, gịnị bụ uru m ma ọ bụrụ na emehieghị m?’
For you said, “Having done what is right does not please you,” and, “How will it benefit you, if I sin?”
4 “Ọ ga-amasị m ịzaghachi gị, zaghachikwa ndị enyi gị na ha nọ.
And so, I will respond to your words, and to your friends who are with you.
5 Lelie anya na eluigwe ma hụkwa. Legide mbara igwe na igwe oji niile, nke dị anya karịa gị.
Look up towards heaven and consider; also, think about the sky, which is higher than you.
6 Ọ bụrụ na i mehie, olee ụzọ nke a si metụta ya? Ọ bụrụ na mmehie gị bara ụba, gịnị ka nke a pụrụ ime ya?
If you sin, how will it hurt him? And if your iniquities are multiplied, what will you do against him?
7 Ọ bụrụ na ị bụ onye ezi omume, gịnị ka ị na-enye ya, maọbụ gịnị ka ọ na-anata site nʼaka gị?
Furthermore, if you act justly, what will you give him, or what will he receive from your hand?
8 Ajọ omume gị na-emetụta naanị mmadụ dịka gị, ma ezi omume gị na-emetụta naanị ụmụ ndị mmadụ.
Your impiety may hurt a man who is like you, though your justice may help the son of the man.
9 “Ụmụ mmadụ na-eti mkpu akwa nʼihi ịba ụba nke mmegbu, ha na-arịọ arịrịọ enyemaka site nʼaka ndị dị ike.
Because of the multitude of false accusers, they will cry out; and they will lament because of the strong arm of the tyrants.
10 Ma ọ dịghị onye na-asị, ‘Olee ebe Chineke onye kere m nọ, onye na-enye abụ nʼime abalị,
Yet he has not said: “Where is God, who made me, who has given songs in the night,
11 onye na-akụziri anyị ihe karịa ka ọ na-akụziri ụmụ anụ ọhịa nke ụwa, onye na-eme ka anyị bụrụ ndị maara ihe karịa ụmụ nnụnụ nke igwe?’
who teaches us in addition to the beasts of the earth, and who educates us along with the birds of the air?”
12 Ọ dịghị azaghachi mgbe ụmụ mmadụ na-eti mkpu akwa, nʼihi ịnya isi nke ndị ajọ omume.
There they will cry, and he will not heed them, because of the arrogance of the wicked.
13 Nʼezie, Chineke adịghị aṅa ntị nʼarịrịọ efu ha; Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile a dịghị elebara ya anya.
Therefore, God does not hear in vain, and the Almighty will look into each and every case.
14 Ma ya bụrụzie nke a ị na-ekwu, ọ ga-esi aṅaa gee ntị mgbe ị na-ekwu na ị dịghị ahụ ya anya, na i burula ikpe gị bịa nʼihu ya na ị ga-anọkwa na-eche ya!
And so, when you say, “He does not examine,” be judged before him, but wait for him.
15 Ọzọ, nʼihi na iwe ya adịghị eweta ntaramahụhụ, nʼihi na ọ dịghị arịba ama ajọ omume ọ bụladị nke dịkarịsịrị nta.
For, at the present time, he does not bring forth his fury, nor does he punish sin exceedingly.
16 Ya mere, Job saghere ọnụ ya kwuo okwu dịka onye na-amaghị ihe; ka onye na-enweghị uche ọ na-ekwu okwu nkwukwasị efu.”
Therefore, Job has opened his mouth in vain and has multiplied words without knowledge.
