< Job 28 >
1 Olulu e si egwupụta ọlaọcha dị; ebe a na-anụcha ọlaedo dịkwa.
Though there is, for silver, a vein, and a place for the gold they refine;
2 E si nʼime ala ewepụta igwe, ọlanchara na-agbazepụta site nkume na-aghọ ọla.
Iron, out of the ore, is taken, and, stone, poureth out copper;
3 Mmadụ na-eme ka ọchịchịrị nwee ọgwụgwụ; ọ na-enyochapụta ihe dị ebe dị anya, na-achọ igwe nʼime oke ọchịchịrị.
An end, hath one set to the darkness, and, into every extremity, is, he, making search, for the stone of darkness and death-shade;
4 Ọ na-egwu olulu nʼebe dị anya site nʼebe mmadụ bi, nʼebe ụkwụ mmadụ na-adịghị eru, nʼebe ahụ dị anya site nʼebe mmadụ bi ka ha na-akwụfegharị.
He hath sunken a shaft, away from the inhabitants; Places forsaken by the foot, they hang down, away from men, sway to and fro;
5 Ala ahụ e si na ya enweta nri, abụrụla ihe e ji ọkụ gbanwee nʼokpuru ya.
As for the earth, out of it, cometh forth bread, and, under it, is upturned, as it were fire;
6 Safaia bụ nkume dị oke ọnụahịa dị na nkume ya; aja ya nwekwara mkpụrụ ọlaedo.
The place of sapphires, are the stones thereof, and it hath, nuggets of gold: —
7 Ọ dịghị anụ ufe nke na-eri anụ maara ụzọ ahụ zoro ezo; anya agụ nkwọ ọbụla ahụtụbeghị ya.
A path, the vulture hath not discerned, nor hath the eye of the hawk scanned it;
8 Anụ ọhịa dị nganga anaghị azọnye ụkwụ nʼelu ya, ọdụm ọbụla adịghị awagharị nʼebe ahụ.
Ravenous beasts have not made a track thereof, neither hath the lion marched thereon:
9 Ndị mmadụ na-eji aka na-etiwasị nkume ahụ na-enwu ọkụ mee ka mgbọrọgwụ ugwu ahụ pụta ìhè.
Upon the flint, hath he thrust forth his hand, He hath turned up mountains by the roots;
10 Ha na-awapụta ọwa ụzọ nʼetiti nkume ahụ, anya ha na-ahụkwa akụnụba ya niile.
Among the rocks, hath he cut open streams, and, every precious thing, hath his eye seen:
11 Ha na-achọpụta isi mmiri niile ma meekwa ka ihe nzuzo pụta ìhè.
From trickling, he restraineth, rivers, and, some hidden thing, is he bringing out to light.
12 Ma olee ebe ka a ga-achọta amamihe? Olee kwa ebe nghọta bi?
Yet where can, Wisdom, be found? And where is the place of understanding?
13 Mmadụ apụghị ịghọta ọnụahịa ya, agaghị achọtakwa ya nʼala ndị dị ndụ.
Mortal knoweth not the way thereof, neither can it be found in the land of the living;
14 Ogbu mmiri na-asị, “Ọ dịghị nʼime m,” osimiri na-asị, “Ọ dịghị nʼaka m.”
The resounding deep, hath said, It is not in me! And, the sea, hath said, It is not with me!
15 A gaghị eji ọlaedo a nụchara nke ọma zụta ya, apụghị ịtụ ihe bụ ọnụahịa ya nʼọlaọcha.
Pure gold cannot be given in its stead, neither can silver he weighed as the value thereof;
16 A gaghị eji ọlaedo nke Ọfịa zụta ya, a gaghị ejikwa nkume dara oke ọnụahịa nke ọniks maọbụ safaia zụta ya,
It cannot be put into the scales against the gold of Ophir, with costly onyx, or sapphire;
17 A gaghị eji ọlaedo maọbụ kristal tụnyere ya, maọbụ iji ejiji ọlaedo nweta ya.
Neither gold nor crystal can compare with it, nor can, the exchange thereof, be a vessel of pure gold,
18 Koral na jaspa erughị ihe a na-akpọtụ aha nʼebe ọ dị; ọnụahịa nke amamihe karịrị ọtụtụ rubi.
Coral or crystal, cannot be mentioned, Yea, a possession, is wisdom, above red coral;
19 A gaghị eji ọla topaazi nke Kush tụnyere ya; a pụghị iji ọlaedo a nụchara anụcha zụta ya.
The topaz of Ethiopia cannot compare with it, Against purest gold, can it not be weighed.
20 Olee ebe amamihe si abịa? Olee ebe nghọta bi?
Whence then cometh, wisdom? And where is the place of understanding?
21 E zoro ya ezo site nʼanya ihe niile dị ndụ, e kpuchikwara ya nye ọ bụladị anụ ufe nke eluigwe.
Seeing it hath been hid from the eyes of every living thing, and, from the bird of the heavens, hath it been concealed?
22 Mbibi na ọnwụ na-asị; “Naanị akụkọ ya ruru anyị ntị.”
Destruction and death, have said, With our ears, have we heard the report thereof!
23 Chineke ghọtara ụzọ ya, naanị ya makwara ebe obibi ya dị.
GOD, understandeth the way thereof, and, he, discerneth the place thereof;
24 Nʼihi na ọ na-ahụ nsọtụ nke ụwa, na-ahụkwa ihe niile dị nʼokpuru eluigwe.
For, he, unto the ends of the earth, directeth his look, under all the heavens, he seeth;
25 Mgbe o hiwere ike nke ikuku, tụọkwa mmiri nʼihe ọtụtụ,
Making, for the wind, a weight, and, the waters, he proved by measure,
26 mgbe o nyere mmiri ozuzo iwu meekwa ụzọ nye egbe eluigwe na oke ikuku,
When he made, for the rain, a decree, and a way for the lightning of thunders,
27 mgbe ahụ, o lere amamihe anya, nyochasịa ya, meekwa ka o guzosie ike, ma nwapụtakwa ya.
Then, saw he it, and declared it, He settled it, yea also he searched it out;
28 Ọ sịrị mmadụ, “Ịtụ egwu Onyenwe anyị, nke ahụ bụ amamihe; ọzọ, ị sị nʼihe ọjọọ wezuga onwe bụ nghọta.”
And said to the son of earth, Lo! the reverence of the Lord, that, is wisdom, and, to avoid evil, is understanding.
