< Job 22 >
1 Mgbe ahụ, Elifaz onye Teman zara sị:
Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,
2 “Mmadụ ọ pụrụ ịbara Chineke uru? Ọ bụladị onye nwere uche ọ pụrụ ịbara Chineke uru?
“Can a man be useful to God? Can a wise man be useful to him?
3 O nwere ọṅụ ọ ga-enye Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile ma a sị na ị bụ onye ezi omume? Uru gịnị ka ọ ga-enweta ma ọ bụrụ na ụzọ gị niile enweghị ịta ụta?
Is it any pleasure to the Almighty if you are righteous? Is it gain to him if you make your ways blameless?
4 “Chineke ọ na-abara gị mba na-ebo gị ebubo nʼihi na ị na-atụ egwu ya?
Is it because of your reverence for him that he rebukes you and takes you to judgment?
5 Ọ bụ na mmebi iwu gị adịghị ukwuu? Mmehie gị o nwere ọgwụgwụ?
Is not your wickedness great? Is there no end to your iniquities?
6 Ị naara ụmụnne gị ihe ebe nʼefu; ị yipụrụ ndị mmadụ uwe ha gbawa ha ọtọ.
For you have demanded guarantee of a loan from your brother for no reason, and you have stripped away clothing from the naked.
7 I nyeghị ndị ike gwuru mmiri, i nyeghịkwa ndị agụụ na-agụ ihe oriri.
You have not given water to weary people to drink; you have withheld bread from hungry people
8 Ọ bụ eziokwu na ị bụ nwoke dị ike na onye nwere ala, bụrụkwa onye a na-asọpụrụ bi nʼala ya,
although you, a mighty man, possessed the earth, although you, an honored man, lived in it.
9 Ị na-agbaba ụmụ nwanyị di ha nwụrụ aka, zipụ ha, Ị na-anyaji ogwe aka nke ụmụ na-enweghị nna.
You have sent widows away empty; the arms of the fatherless have been broken.
10 Ọ bụ ya mere ọnya jiri gbaa gị gburugburu, bụrụkwa ihe mbibi ji eyi gị egwu.
Therefore, snares are all around you, and sudden fear troubles you.
11 Ọ bụkwa ya mere ọchịchịrị ji gbaa gị gburugburu ka ị ghara ịhụ ụzọ, meekwa ka idee mmiri kpuchie gị.
There is darkness, so that you cannot see; an abundance of waters covers you.
12 “Ọ bụ na Chineke anọghị nʼebe dị elu nke eluigwe? Lee ka ịdị elu nke kpakpando dị elu si dị.
Is not God in the heights of heaven? Look at the height of the stars, how high they are!
13 Kama ị na-asị, ‘Gịnị ka Chineke maara? Ọ na-esite nʼoke ọchịchịrị dị otu a ekpe ikpe?
You say, 'What does God know? Can he judge through the thick darkness?
14 Oke ọchịchịrị kpuchiri ya, nke mere na ọ naghị ahụ anyị mgbe ọ na-agagharị nʼebe dị elu nke eluigwe.’
Thick clouds are a covering to him, so that he does not see us; he walks on the vault of heaven.'
15 Ị ga-agbaso ụzọ ochie nke ndị na-eme ihe ọjọọ zoro ije na ya?
Will you keep the old way that wicked men have walked—
16 E bupụrụ ha tupu oge ha eruo. Ntọala ndụ ha ka idee mmiri sachapụrụ
those who were snatched away before their time, those whose foundations have washed away like a river,
17 Ha sịrị Chineke, ‘Hapụ anyị aka! Gịnị ka Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile ga-eme anyị?’
those who said to God, 'Depart from us'; those who said, 'What can the Almighty do to us?'
18 Ma ọ bụ ya ji ihe dị mma dị iche iche mejupụta ụlọ ha, ya mere ana m ewezuga onwe m site na ndụmọdụ ndị na-emebi iwu.
Yet he filled their houses with good things; the plans of wicked people are far from me.
19 Ndị ezi omume na-ahụ mbibi ndị dị otu a ma ṅụrịa; ndị aka ha dị ọcha na-akwa ha emo sị:
Righteous people see their fate and are glad; innocent people laugh them to scorn.
20 ‘Nʼezie, e bibiela ndị iro anyị, ọkụ erepịala akụnụba ha.’
They say, 'Surely those who rose up against us are cut off; fire has consumed their possessions.'
21 “Doo onwe gị nʼokpuru Chineke ka gị na ya nọọ nʼudo, nʼụzọ dị otu a, ọganihu ga-abịara gị.
Now agree with God and be at peace with him; in that way, good will come to you.
22 Gee ntị, nabata ndụmọdụ si ya nʼọnụ, doo okwu ya niile nʼobi gị.
Receive, I beg you, instruction from his mouth; store up his words in your heart.
23 Ọ bụrụ na ịlaghachikwute Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile, ọ ga-eweghachi gị nʼọnọdụ gị; ọ bụrụ na iwezuga ihe mmebi iwu mee ka ọ dị anya site nʼebe ụlọ ikwu gị dị,
If you return to the Almighty, you will be built up, if you put unrighteousness far away from your tents.
24 tọgbọ ọkpụrụkpụ ọlaedo gị nʼaja, tụpụkwa ọlaedo nke Ọfịa gị nʼelu nkume dị nʼime ọdọ mmiri nta.
Lay your treasure down in the dust, the gold of Ophir among the stones of the brooks,
25 Mgbe ahụ, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile ga-abụrụ gị ọlaedo, bụkwara gị ọlaọcha kachasị mma.
and the Almighty will be your treasure, precious silver to you.
26 Nʼezie, mgbe ahụ kwa, ihe nke Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile ga-atọ mkpụrụobi gị ụtọ, ị ga-ewelikwa ihu gị nye Chineke.
For then you will take pleasure in the Almighty; you will lift up your face to God.
27 Ị ga-ekpe ekpere, ọ ga-azakwa gị ekpere gị, ị ga-emezukwa nkwa i kwere.
You will make your prayer to him, and he will hear you; you will pay your vows to him.
28 Ihe i kpebiri ga-emezukwa, ìhè ga-amụkwasị nʼụzọ gị niile.
You will also decree anything, and it will be confirmed for you; light will shine on your paths.
29 Mgbe a na-eweda ndị mmadụ ala, ọ bụrụkwa na ị sị, ‘Bulienụ ha elu,’ mgbe ahụ ọ ga-azọpụta ndị e wedara nʼala.
God humbles a proud man, and he saves the one with lowered eyes.
30 Ọ ga-azọpụta ọ bụladị onye ahụ nke aka ya na-adịghị ọcha, bụ onye nke a ga-azọpụta site nʼịdị ọcha nke aka gị.”
He will rescue even the man who is not innocent; who will be rescued through the cleanness of your hands.”
