< Job 22 >
1 Mgbe ahụ, Elifaz onye Teman zara sị:
Then Eliphaz the Temanite made answer and said,
2 “Mmadụ ọ pụrụ ịbara Chineke uru? Ọ bụladị onye nwere uche ọ pụrụ ịbara Chineke uru?
Is it possible for a man to be of profit to God? No, for a man's wisdom is only of profit to himself.
3 O nwere ọṅụ ọ ga-enye Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile ma a sị na ị bụ onye ezi omume? Uru gịnị ka ọ ga-enweta ma ọ bụrụ na ụzọ gị niile enweghị ịta ụta?
Is it of any interest to the Ruler of all that you are upright? or is it of use to him that your ways are without sin?
4 “Chineke ọ na-abara gị mba na-ebo gị ebubo nʼihi na ị na-atụ egwu ya?
Is it because you give him honour that he is sending punishment on you and is judging you?
5 Ọ bụ na mmebi iwu gị adịghị ukwuu? Mmehie gị o nwere ọgwụgwụ?
Is not your evil-doing great? and there is no end to your sins.
6 Ị naara ụmụnne gị ihe ebe nʼefu; ị yipụrụ ndị mmadụ uwe ha gbawa ha ọtọ.
For you have taken your brother's goods when he was not in your debt, and have taken away the clothing of those who have need of it.
7 I nyeghị ndị ike gwuru mmiri, i nyeghịkwa ndị agụụ na-agụ ihe oriri.
You do not give water to the tired traveller, and from him who has no food you keep back bread.
8 Ọ bụ eziokwu na ị bụ nwoke dị ike na onye nwere ala, bụrụkwa onye a na-asọpụrụ bi nʼala ya,
For it was the man with power who had the land, and the man with an honoured name who was living in it.
9 Ị na-agbaba ụmụ nwanyị di ha nwụrụ aka, zipụ ha, Ị na-anyaji ogwe aka nke ụmụ na-enweghị nna.
You have sent widows away without hearing their cause, and you have taken away the support of the child who has no father.
10 Ọ bụ ya mere ọnya jiri gbaa gị gburugburu, bụrụkwa ihe mbibi ji eyi gị egwu.
For this cause nets are round your feet, and you are overcome with sudden fear.
11 Ọ bụkwa ya mere ọchịchịrị ji gbaa gị gburugburu ka ị ghara ịhụ ụzọ, meekwa ka idee mmiri kpuchie gị.
Your light is made dark so that you are unable to see, and you are covered by a mass of waters.
12 “Ọ bụ na Chineke anọghị nʼebe dị elu nke eluigwe? Lee ka ịdị elu nke kpakpando dị elu si dị.
Is not God as high as heaven? and see the stars, how high they are!
13 Kama ị na-asị, ‘Gịnị ka Chineke maara? Ọ na-esite nʼoke ọchịchịrị dị otu a ekpe ikpe?
And you say, What knowledge has God? is he able to give decisions through the deep dark?
14 Oke ọchịchịrị kpuchiri ya, nke mere na ọ naghị ahụ anyị mgbe ọ na-agagharị nʼebe dị elu nke eluigwe.’
Thick clouds are covering him, so that he is unable to see; and he is walking on the arch of heaven.
15 Ị ga-agbaso ụzọ ochie nke ndị na-eme ihe ọjọọ zoro ije na ya?
Will you keep the old way by which evil men went?
16 E bupụrụ ha tupu oge ha eruo. Ntọala ndụ ha ka idee mmiri sachapụrụ
Who were violently taken away before their time, who were overcome by the rush of waters:
17 Ha sịrị Chineke, ‘Hapụ anyị aka! Gịnị ka Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile ga-eme anyị?’
Who said to God, Go away from us; and, What is the Ruler of all able to do to us?
18 Ma ọ bụ ya ji ihe dị mma dị iche iche mejupụta ụlọ ha, ya mere ana m ewezuga onwe m site na ndụmọdụ ndị na-emebi iwu.
Though he made their houses full of good things: but the purpose of the evil-doers is far from me!
19 Ndị ezi omume na-ahụ mbibi ndị dị otu a ma ṅụrịa; ndị aka ha dị ọcha na-akwa ha emo sị:
The upright saw it and were glad: and those who had done no wrong made sport of them,
20 ‘Nʼezie, e bibiela ndị iro anyị, ọkụ erepịala akụnụba ha.’
Saying, Truly, their substance is cut off, and their wealth is food for the fire.
21 “Doo onwe gị nʼokpuru Chineke ka gị na ya nọọ nʼudo, nʼụzọ dị otu a, ọganihu ga-abịara gị.
Put yourself now in a right relation with him and be at peace: so will you do well in your undertakings.
22 Gee ntị, nabata ndụmọdụ si ya nʼọnụ, doo okwu ya niile nʼobi gị.
Be pleased to take teaching from his mouth, and let his words be stored up in your heart.
23 Ọ bụrụ na ịlaghachikwute Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile, ọ ga-eweghachi gị nʼọnọdụ gị; ọ bụrụ na iwezuga ihe mmebi iwu mee ka ọ dị anya site nʼebe ụlọ ikwu gị dị,
If you come back to the Ruler of all, making yourself low before him; if you put evil far away from your tents;
24 tọgbọ ọkpụrụkpụ ọlaedo gị nʼaja, tụpụkwa ọlaedo nke Ọfịa gị nʼelu nkume dị nʼime ọdọ mmiri nta.
And put your gold in the dust, even your gold of Ophir among the rocks of the valleys;
25 Mgbe ahụ, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile ga-abụrụ gị ọlaedo, bụkwara gị ọlaọcha kachasị mma.
Then the Ruler of all will be your gold, and his teaching will be your silver;
26 Nʼezie, mgbe ahụ kwa, ihe nke Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile ga-atọ mkpụrụobi gị ụtọ, ị ga-ewelikwa ihu gị nye Chineke.
For then you will have delight in the Ruler of all, and your face will be lifted up to God.
27 Ị ga-ekpe ekpere, ọ ga-azakwa gị ekpere gị, ị ga-emezukwa nkwa i kwere.
You will make your prayer to him, and be answered; and you will give effect to your oaths.
28 Ihe i kpebiri ga-emezukwa, ìhè ga-amụkwasị nʼụzọ gị niile.
Your purposes will come about, and light will be shining on your ways.
29 Mgbe a na-eweda ndị mmadụ ala, ọ bụrụkwa na ị sị, ‘Bulienụ ha elu,’ mgbe ahụ ọ ga-azọpụta ndị e wedara nʼala.
For God makes low those whose hearts are lifted up, but he is a saviour to the poor in spirit.
30 Ọ ga-azọpụta ọ bụladị onye ahụ nke aka ya na-adịghị ọcha, bụ onye nke a ga-azọpụta site nʼịdị ọcha nke aka gị.”
He makes safe the man who is free from sin, and if your hands are clean, salvation will be yours.
