< Job 16 >
Then Job answered and said,
2 “Anụla m ọtụtụ ihe dịka ndị a; ndị nkasiobi na-eweta ọnọdụ ọjọọ ka unu niile bụ.
“I have heard many such things; you are all miserable comforters.
3 Ogologo okwu efu ndị a niile unu na-ekwu, ọ naghị akwụsị? Gịnị bụ nsogbu unu nke mere unu ji aga nʼihu na-arụ ụka niile ndị a?
Will useless words ever have an end? What is wrong with you that you answer like this?
4 Mụ onwe m nwekwara ike ikwu okwu dịka unu, ma ọ bụrụ na unu nọ nʼọnọdụ m; enwere m ike kwuo okwu dị ụtọ na ntị megide unu, ma fufekwaa isi m megide unu.
I also could speak as you do, if you were in my place; I could collect and join words together against you and shake my head at you in mockery.
5 Ma ọnụ m ga-agba unu ume; nkasiobi si nʼegbugbere ọnụ m ga-emekwa ka ihe mgbu unu dajụọ.
I would strengthen you with my mouth, and the quivering of my lips will bring you relief!
6 “Ma ọ bụrụ na m ekwuo, adịghị egbochi ihe mgbu m, ọ bụrụ na m ahapụ ikwu okwu, ọdịghị esi nʼahụ m pụọ?
If I speak, my grief is not lessened; if I keep from speaking, how am I helped?
7 Nʼezie o Chineke, i meela ka ike gwụ m, i tidakwala ezinaụlọ m.
But now, God, you have made me weary; you have made all my family desolate.
8 I keela m agbụ; agbụ m abụrụla ihe akaebe megide m; ịta ahụ m ebiliela ịgba akaebe megide m.
You have made me dry up, which itself is a witness against me; the leanness of my body rises up against me, and it testifies against my face.
9 Chineke na-eweso m iwe, jiri iwe ya na-adọwasị m, ọ na-atakwa ikikere eze ya megide m; onye iro m na-achịchapụrụ m anya ya.
God has torn me in his wrath and persecuted me; He grinds his teeth in rage; my enemy fastens his eyes on me as he tears me apart.
10 Ụmụ mmadụ na-asaghe ọnụ ka ha chịa m ọchị, ha ji iti m aka nʼọnụ na-akwa m emo, jikọtakwa onwe ha megide m.
People have gaped with open mouth at me; they have hit me reproachfully on the cheek; they have gathered together against me.
11 Chineke ewerela m nyefee nʼaka ndị ajọ omume, tụbakwa m nʼaka ndị na-emebi iwu.
God hands me over to ungodly people, and throws me into the hands of wicked people.
12 Ihe na-agara m nke ọma, ma Chineke tipịara m. O jidere m nʼolu ma tiwasịa m. O meela m ihe ịgba ụta ya;
I was at ease, and he broke me apart. Indeed, he has taken me by the neck and dashed me to pieces; he has also set me up as his target.
13 ndị ọgba ụta ya agbaala m gburugburu. Ọ na-agbawa akụrụ m na-enweghị ọmịiko mee ka oluilu m wụsịa nʼala.
His archers surround me all around; God pierces my kidneys and does not spare me; he pours out my bile on the ground.
14 Mgbe niile, ọ na-emegide m; ọ na-achụso m dịka dike nʼagha.
He smashes through my wall again and again; he runs upon me like a warrior.
15 “Adụkọtala m akwa mkpe were ya kpuchie anụ ahụ m, liekwa ikuanya m nʼime ntụ.
I have sewn sackcloth on my skin; I have thrust my horn into the ground.
16 Ihu m na-acha ọbara ọbara site nʼakwa nke m na-akwa, onyinyo nke ọnwụ dịkwa gburugburu egbugbere anya m abụọ;
My face is red with weeping; on my eyelids is the shadow of death
17 ma aka m emeghị ihe ike ọbụla, ọzọ ekpere m dịkwa ọcha.
although there is no violence in my hands, and my prayer is pure.
18 “Ala, biko, ezokwala ọbara m; mee ka akwa m ghara ịbụ ihe lara nʼiyi!
Earth, do not cover up my blood; let my cry have no resting place.
19 Ọ bụladị ugbu a, onye akaebe m nọ nʼeluigwe, onye nkwuchite ọnụ m nọ nʼebe dị elu.
Even now, see, my witness is in heaven; he who vouches for me is on high.
20 Onye na-arịọrọ m arịrịọ bụ enyi m, dịka m na-awụsara Chineke anya mmiri m.
My friends scoff at me, but my eye pours out tears to God.
21 Nʼọnọdụ mmadụ ka ọ na-arịọ Chineke dịka mmadụ na-arịọ nʼihi enyi ya.
I ask for that witness in heaven to argue for this man with God as a man does with his neighbor!
22 “Naanị afọ ole na ole ga-agabiga tupu m ga nʼụzọ nke nlọghachi m na-adịghị.
For when a few years have passed, I will go to a place from where I will not return.
