< Jeremaya 47 >
1 Okwu Onyenwe anyị nke ruru Jeremaya onye amụma ntị banyere ndị Filistia. Okwu ndị a bịara tupu Fero ebuso obodo Gaza agha.
The word of the Lord that came to Jeremiah the prophet against the Philistines, before the time that Pharaoh smote Gazzah.
2 Ihe ndị a ka Onyenwe anyị kwuru, “Lee ka mmiri si ala elu nʼakụkụ ugwu; ha ga-aghọkwa mmiri nke na-erubiga oke. Ha ga-erukwasị ala ahụ, kpuchiekwa ihe niile dị nʼime ya, ọ ga-ekpuchikwa obodo niile dị nʼala ahụ, na ndị bi nʼime ya. Ndị niile bi nʼala ahụ ga-eti mkpu akwa, mmadụ niile ga-akwasikwa akwa ike.
Thus hath said the Lord, Behold, waters are coming up out of the north, and they shall become an overflowing stream, and shall overflow the land, and what filleth it; the city, and those that dwell therein: and the men shall cry aloud, and every inhabitant of the land shall wail.
3 Mgbe ha ga-anụ ụzụ ikiri ụkwụ nke ọtụtụ ịnyịnya, nke na-agbata ọsọ na-abịa nʼebe ha nọ, mgbe ha ga-anụkwa ụzụ ụgbọ agha ndị iro, na ụzụ nzọ ụkwụ igwe ha. Nʼoge ahụ, ndị bụ nna agaghị enwe ike nyere ụmụ ha aka, nʼihi na aka ha ga-akụda nʼakụkụ ha.
Because of the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of his stud-horses, because of the rushing sound of his chariots, the rumbling of his wheels, fathers do not turn round to their children from their feebleness of hands;
4 Nʼihi na ụbọchị ahụ abịala mgbe a ga-ebibi ndị Filistia niile, mgbe a ga-ebipụ ndị niile fọdụrụ, ndị nwere ike inyere obodo Taịa na Saịdọn aka. Nʼihi na Onyenwe anyị akwadoola ibibi ndị Filistia, o kwadoola ibibi ndị ahụ fọdụrụ nʼọnụ mmiri Kafto.
Because of the day that cometh to devastate all the Philistines, to cut off from Tyre and Zidon every helper that remaineth; for the Lord devastateth the Philistines, the remnant of the isle of Caphthor.
5 Gaza ga-akpụcha isi ya nʼọnọdụ iru ụjụ. A ga-eme ka Ashkelọn dere duu. Ruo ole mgbe ka unu ga-anọgide na-egbukasị onwe unu ahụ, unu bụ ndị fọdụrụ afọdụ bi nʼala dị larịị?
Baldness is come upon Gazzah; ruined is Ashkelon with the remnant of their valley: how long yet wilt thou cut thyself?
6 “‘Ewoo, gị mma agha Onyenwe anyị, ole mgbe ị ga-ezu ike? Mịnye onwe gị nʼọbọ gị, kwụsị ịkpa ike gị ma dere duu.’
Woe! thou sword of the Lord, how long yet wilt thou not be quiet? withdraw thyself into thy scabbard, take thee rest, and be still.
7 Ma ọ ga-esikwanụ aṅaa zuru ike, ebe ọ bụ Onyenwe anyị nyere ya iwu ibu agha megide Ashkelọn, na ndị bi nʼọnụ mmiri oke osimiri?”
Yet how canst thou be quiet? When the Lord hath given it a charge, against Ashkelon, and against the sea-coast—thither hath he destined it.
