< Jeremaya 26 >
1 Na mmalite oge ahụ, Jehoiakim nwa Josaya eze Juda bidoro ịchị ndị Juda, Onyenwe anyị mere ka okwu ya rute Jeremaya ntị.
In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim, the son of Josiah, king of Judah, came this word from Jehovah, saying: —
2 Ihe ndị a ka Onyenwe anyị kwuru, “Guzo nʼogige ụlọnsọ Onyenwe anyị. Nọdụ nʼebe ahụ gwa ndị niile si nʼobodo Juda bịa ịkpọ isiala nʼụlọnsọ Onyenwe anyị okwu. Gwa ha ihe ahụ niile m nyere gị nʼiwu. Mee ka ihe ndị ahụ niile m nyere gị nʼiwu rute ha ntị, na-afọdụghị otu.
Thus saith Jehovah: Stand in the court of the house of Jehovah, and speak to those who come from all the cities of Judah to worship in the house of Jehovah all the words which I have commanded thee to speak to them; abate not a word.
If peradventure they will hearken and turn every one from his evil way, that I may repent me of the evil which I purpose to do to them because of their evil doings.
4 Gwa ha sị, ‘Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwuru: Ọ bụrụ na unu ajụ ige m ntị, jụkwa ịgbaso iwu m, nke m nyere unu.
And thou shalt say to them, Thus saith Jehovah: If ye will not hearken to me, to walk in my law which I have set before you,
5 Ọ bụrụkwa na unu ajụ ige ntị nʼokwu ndị ohu m bụ ndị amụma ahụ m ziteere unu site nʼoge ruo nʼoge (ndị unu nọgidekwara jụ ige ntị),
to hearken to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I sent to you, rising early and sending, and ye have not hearkened,
Aga m emekwa ka obodo a bụrụ obodo a bụrụ ọnụ nʼetiti mba niile dị nʼụwa.’”
then will I make this house like Shiloh, and this city will I make a curse to all the nations of the earth.
7 Ndị nchụaja, na ndị amụma, na ndị mmadụ ndị ọzọ nọ nʼụlọnsọ Onyenwe anyị nụrụ mgbe Jeremaya kwuru okwu ndị a niile.
And the priests and the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of Jehovah.
And when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking all that Jehovah had commanded him to speak to all the people, then the priests and the prophets and all the people seized him, and said, Thou shalt surely die!
9 Gịnị mere i ji buo amụma na ụlọnsọ a ga-adị ka Shaịlo? Gịnịkwa mere i ji akwado na obodo a ga-aghọ mkpọmkpọ ebe, nke onye ọbụla na-agaghị ebikwa nʼime ya?” Nʼoge ahụ, ndị mmadụ ahụ niile gbara Jeremaya gburugburu nʼụlọnsọ Onyenwe anyị.
Why dost thou prophesy in the name of Jehovah, and say, This house shall be as Shiloh, and this city shall be made desolate without an inhabitant? And all the people were assembled together against Jeremiah in the house of Jehovah.
10 Mgbe ndịisi ọchịchị Juda nụrụ ihe ndị a na-eme, ha sitere nʼụlọeze bilie pụọ, jee nʼụlọnsọ Onyenwe anyị. Mgbe ha ruru nʼebe ahụ, ha weere ọnọdụ nʼọnụ ụzọ ama ọhụrụ nke dị nʼụlọnsọ Onyenwe anyị.
When the princes of Judah heard these things, they went up from the king's house to the house of Jehovah, and sat in the entrance of the new gate of the house of Jehovah.
11 Mgbe ahụ, ndị nchụaja na ndị amụma gwara ndịisi ọchịchị ahụ okwu sị ha: “O kwesiri ka a maa nwoke a ikpe ọnwụ, nʼihi na o buru amụma megide obodo a. Unu onwe unu ji ntị unu nụrụ ihe o kwuru.”
Then spake the priests and the prophets to the princes and to all the people, saying: This man is worthy to die; for he hath prophesied against this city, as ye have heard with your ears.
12 Mgbe ahụ, Jeremaya gwara ndịisi ọchịchị ahụ na mmadụ niile nọ nʼebe ahụ okwu sị ha, “Ọ bụ Onyenwe anyị zitere m ibu amụma megide ụlọnsọ a na obodo a. Okwu niile m kwuru, nke unu nụrụ, bụ ihe Onyenwe anyị ziri m ikwu.
Then spake Jeremiah to all the princes and to all the people, saying: Jehovah hath sent me to prophesy against this house, and against this city, all the words which ye have heard.
13 Ma ọ bụrụ na unu emee ka ụzọ unu na omume unu zie ezi, ọ bụrụ na unu erube isi nye Onyenwe anyị Chineke unu, mgbe ahụ, Onyenwe anyị ga-eme ka ihe ọjọọ ahụ o zubere na ọ ga-abịakwasị unu ghara ịbịakwasị unu.
But now amend ye your ways and your doings, and obey the voice of Jehovah, your God, and Jehovah will repent of the evil which he hath pronounced against you.
14 Ma nʼebe mụ onwe m nọ, lee adị m unu nʼaka, jirinụ m mee ihe ọbụla ziri unu ezi nʼanya nke dịkwa mma nʼanya unu.
And as for me, behold, I am in your hands; do to me as it seemeth good and right in your eyes.
15 Ma ghọtakwanụ nke ọma, na ọ bụrụ na unu emee ka m nwụọ, unu ga-eweta ikpe ọmụma nke igbu onye aka ya dị ọcha nʼisi unu. Ikpe ọmụma ga-adịkwara obodo a na ndị bi nʼime ya, nʼihi na eziokwu, Onyenwe anyị zitere m ikwupụta na ntị unu okwu ndị a niile.”
But know ye for certain that, if ye put me to death, ye shall surely bring innocent blood upon yourselves, and upon this city, and its inhabitants; for of a truth Jehovah hath sent me to you to speak all these words in your ears.
16 Mgbe ahụ, ndịisi ọchịchị na ndị mmadụ ahụ niile gwara ndị nchụaja na ndị amụma okwu sị ha, “O kwesighị ka a maa nwoke a ikpe ọnwụ nʼihi na ọ gwara anyị okwu site nʼaha Onyenwe anyị Chineke anyị.”
Then said the princes and all the people to the priests and the prophets: This man is not worthy to die, for he hath spoken to us in the name of Jehovah, our God.
17 Ụfọdụ nʼime ndị okenye nọ nʼebe ahụ pụtara nʼihu ọha mmadụ ahụ gwa ha okwu sị,
Certain elders of the land also rose up, and spoke to all the assembly of the people, saying:
18 “Maịka onye Moreshet buru amụma nʼoge Hezekaya, bụ eze Juda. Ọ gwara ndị Juda niile, sị ha, ‘Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile kwuru: “‘A ga-akọgharị Zayọn dịka ala ubi. Jerusalem ga-aghọ ebe e kpokọtara nkume na ngwongwo ụlọ dakpọrọ adakpọ, ugwu nke ụlọnsọ ukwu ahụ ga-aghọ ebe dị elu nke oke ọhịa tochiri.’
Micah, the Morasthite, prophesied in the days of Hezekiah, king of Judah, and spake to all the people of Judah, saying, Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Zion shall be ploughed like a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps of stones, and the mountain of the house [[of Jehovah]] as the heights of a forest.
Did Hezekiah, king of Judah, and all Judah, put him to death? Did he not fear Jehovah, and beseech Jehovah, so that Jehovah repented of the evil which he had pronounced against them? Shall we then bring so great an evil upon ourselves?
20 (Ụraya nwa Shemaya, onye si Kiriat Jearim pụta, bụkwa onye ọzọ buru amụma site nʼaha Onyenwe anyị. Amụma o buru megide obodo a na ala a bụkwa ụdị amụma nke Jeremaya na-ebu.
There was also another man that prophesied in the name of Jehovah, Urijah, the son of Shemaiah of Kirjath-jearim, who prophesied against this city and this land, according to all the words of Jeremiah;
and when Jehoiakim the king, and all his mighty men, and all the princes, heard his words, the king sought to put him to death. But when Urijah heard it, he was afraid, and fled and went into Egypt.
22 Ma eze bụ Jehoiakim, zipụrụ Elnatan nwa Akboa na ụfọdụ ndị ikom ọzọ ka ha gaa Ijipt jide Ụraya.
But Jehoiakim the king sent men into Egypt, Elnathan the son of Achbor, and certain men with him into Egypt,
and they brought Urijah out of Egypt, and carried him to King Jehoiakim, who slew him with the sword, and cast his dead body into the graves of the common people.
24 Ma otu ọ dị, Ahikam nwa Shefan, dịnyeere Jeremaya, nʼihi ya a raraghị Jeremaya nye nʼaka ndị mmadụ ka ha gbuo ya.
Nevertheless, the hand of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, was with Jeremiah, that he should not be delivered into the hand of the people, to be put to death.
