Jeremaya 19
1 Ihe ndị a ka Onyenwe anyị kwuru, “Jee, zụta otu ite aja site nʼaka ọkpụ ite. Duru ụfọdụ nʼime ndị okenye na ndị nchụaja,
Thus saith Jehovah: Go and buy an earthen bottle of the potter, And take with thee the elders of the people, And the elders of the priests,
2 jee na Ndagwurugwu nke Ben Hinom, nke dị nso nʼọnụ ụzọ ama Ejuju dị nʼọwụwa anyanwụ. Nọdụ nʼebe ahụ kwupụtara ha okwu ndị m gwara gị.
And go forth to the valley of the son of Hinnom, At the entrance of the pottery-gate, And proclaim there the words Which I shall speak to thee.
3 Sị ha, ‘Nụrụnụ okwu Onyenwe anyị, unu ndị eze Juda, na ndị Jerusalem. Ihe ndị a ka Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile, onye bụ Chineke Izrel kwuru. Geenụ ntị! Aga m eme ka ihe ọjọọ bịakwasị ala a, ụdị ihe ọjọọ ga-eme ka ntị ọbụla nụrụ ya zụọ wuruwuru.
Say, Hear the word of Jehovah, Ye kings of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem! Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I am about to bring such an evil upon this place, That whoever heareth of it, his ears shall tingle.
4 Nʼihi na ha ahapụla m, mee ka ebe a ghọọ nke chi ndị mba ọzọ. Ha achụọla aja nsure ọkụ nʼime ya nye chi ndị ahụ ha na nna nna ha, maọbụ ndị eze Juda, na-amaghị. Ha ejirila ọbara ndị aka ha dị ọcha mejupụta ebe a.
For they have forsaken me, And have alienated this place, And have burned incense in it to strange gods, Which neither they, nor their fathers, nor the kings of Judah have known, And have filled this place with the blood of innocent children,
5 Ha ewuola ebe ịchụ aja dị elu nye chi Baal. Nʼelu ya kwa ka ha na-esure ụmụ ha dịka aja nye Baal, bụ nke m na-enyeghị nʼiwu, ekwughịkwa m ya, o nwekwaghị mgbe o ji bata m nʼobi.
And have built high places to Baal, To burn their sons in the fire for burnt-offerings to Baal; Which I ordained not, and commanded not, And which never came into my mind.
6 Ya mere, kpacharanụ anya, nʼihi na ụbọchị ahụ na-abịa, ka Onyenwe anyị kwubiri, mgbe ndị mmadụ agaghị akpọkwa ebe a Tofet ma ọ bụkwanụ Ndagwurugwu nke Ben Hinom, kama a ga-akpọ ya Ndagwurugwu Ogbugbu.
Therefore, behold, the days are coming, saith Jehovah, When this place shall no more be called Tophet, Nor the valley of the son of Hinnom, But the valley of Slaughter.
7 “‘Nʼebe a ka m ga-anọ laa nzube niile nke Juda na Jerusalem nʼiyi. Aga m eme ka ha daa site na mma agha nʼihu ndị iro ha, nʼaka ndị ahụ na-achọsi ndụ ha ike. Aga m enye ụmụ anụ ufe na anụ ọhịa ozu ha dịka nri.
For I will in this place bring to naught the plans of Judah and Jerusalem, And I will cause them to fall by the sword before their enemies, And by the hands of them that seek their lives; And their dead bodies will I give for food To the birds of heaven and the beasts of the earth.
8 Aga m ebibi obodo a mee ka ọ ghọọ ihe iju anya na ihe ịma ọsụ. Ndị niile na-esi nʼakụkụ ya agafe ga-anọ nʼọnọdụ iju anya, ha ga-eledakwa ya anya nʼihi ọnya ya niile.
And I will make this city a wonder and a hissing; Every one that passeth by it shall wonder and hiss, On account of all its plagues.
9 Aga m emekwa ka ha rie anụ ahụ nke ụmụ ha ndị ikom na ndị inyom. Ha ga-erikwa anụ ahụ ibe ha, nʼihi na ndị iro ha ga-agba ha gburugburu nọchibido ha nʼime oke mkpagbu ka ha bibie ndụ ha.’
For I will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and of their daughters, Yea, the flesh of each other shall they eat, In the straitness and the distress With which their enemies, and they that seek their lives, shall press them.
10 “Kụwaa ite ahụ mgbe ndị gị na ha so nọ na-ele gị anya.
Then break thou the bottle Before the eyes of the men that go with thee.
11 Gwa ha sị, ‘Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile sịrị: Aga m etipịa mba a na obodo a, dịka ite aja nke ọkpụ ite a si daa tipịasịa nʼụzọ a na-apụghị imezikwa ya ọzọ. Ha ga-eli ndị nwụrụ anwụ na Tofet tutu ruo mgbe ohere na-agaghị adịkwa ili ozu ọzọ.
And say to them: Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: So will I break this people and this city, As one breaks a potter's vessel which cannot be made whole again; And they shall be buried in Tophet, till there is no room to bury.
12 Ihe dị otu a ka m ga-eme nʼebe a, meekwa ndị bi na ya. Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwubiri. Aga m eme obodo a ka ọ dịrị ka Tofet.
Thus will I do to this place and to its inhabitants, saith Jehovah, And I will make this city itself like Tophet;
13 Ụlọ niile dị na Jerusalem na ụlọ niile nke ndị eze Juda ka a ga-emerụ dịka ebe a, bụ Tofet, otu a ka a ga-esi merụọkwa ụlọ niile a suree ihe nsure ọkụ na-esi isi ụtọ nʼelu ha nye usuu niile nke eluigwe, wụsakwara chi ndị ọzọ ihe ọṅụṅụ dịka onyinye.’”
And the houses of Jerusalem and the houses of the kings of Judah shall be unclean, like the place of Tophet, All the houses upon whose roofs they have burned incense to all the host of heaven, And poured out drink-offerings to strange gods.
14 Mgbe Jeremaya si na Tofet, ebe ahụ Onyenwe anyị zigara ya ibu amụma lọta, o guzoro nʼogige ụlọnsọ ukwu Chineke ahụ, gwa ndị mmadụ niile okwu sị ha,
Then came Jeremiah from Tophet, Whither Jehovah had sent him to prophesy, And stood in the court of the house of Jehovah, And said to all the people:
15 “Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile, onye bụ Chineke nke Izrel sịrị, ‘Geenụ ntị! Ana m aga ime ka ihe ọjọọ ahụ m kwuru okwu ya bịakwasị obodo a, na obodo nta niile gbara ya gburugburu, nʼihi na ha bụ ndị isiike, ndị jụrụ ige ntị nʼokwu m.’”
Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I am about to bring upon this city, and upon all the cities belonging to it, All the evil which I have pronounced against it; For they have made their necks stiff, And refused to hearken to my words.
