< Jeremaya 11 >
1 Nke a bụ okwu nke sị nʼebe Onyenwe anyị nọ bịakwute Jeremaya,
This is [another] message that Yahweh told me:
2 “Gee ntị nʼihe niile metụtara ọgbụgba ndụ a, gwakwa ndị Juda, na ndị bi na Jerusalem.
“Listen to the agreement that I made with [the ancestors of] the people of Jerusalem and [the other cities in] Judah. Then remind them of [that agreement].
3 Gwa ha na nke a bụ ihe Onyenwe anyị, Chineke Izrel kwuru, ‘Onye a bụrụ ọnụ ka mmadụ ahụ bụ nke na-adịghị edebe ihe niile banyere ọgbụgba ndụ a,
Then tell them that [I], Yahweh, the God whom the Israeli [people worship], said that I will curse everyone who does not obey what was written in that agreement that I made with them.
4 bụ nke m nyere nna nna unu ha, mgbe m si nʼIjipt, site nʼoke ọkụ e ji agbaze igwe, kpọpụta ha.’ Asịrị m, Ruberenụ m isi, meekwa ihe niile m nyere unu nʼiwu, unu ga-abụ ndị m, mụ onwe m kwa ga-abụkwa Chineke unu.
It is the same agreement that I made with their ancestors when I brought them out of Egypt. [What happened to them in Egypt was terrible; it was as though they were] living in a hot furnace [MET]. When I brought them out of Egypt, I told them to obey me, and to do everything that I had commanded them to do. [I also told them] that if they obeyed me, they would be my people and I would be their God.
5 ‘Mgbe ahụ, aga m emezu iyi ahụ m ṅụụrụ nna nna unu ha, inye ha ala mmiri ara ehi na mmanụ aṅụ na-eru na ya,’ ya bụ, ala ahụ unu bi nʼime ya taa.” Azara m sị, “Amen, Onyenwe anyị.”
[Now tell these people that if they obey me], I will do what I promised to do for their ancestors. I will enable them to continue living in this very fertile [IDM] land in which they now live.” I replied, “Yahweh, I hope that what you said will happen.”
6 Onyenwe anyị sịrị m, “Kpọsaa okwu ndị a nʼobodo Juda niile, na nʼokporoụzọ Jerusalem niile, ‘Geenụ ntị nʼiwu nke ọgbụgba ndụ ahụ, ma mezuo ihe o kwuru.
Then Yahweh said to me, “Go into the streets of Jerusalem and to the [other] cities in Judah. Proclaim my message to the people. Tell them to listen to the agreement [that I made with their ancestors], and to obey it.
7 Site nʼoge ahụ m si nʼala Ijipt kpọpụta nna nna unu ha ruo taa, adọọla m unu aka na ntị mgbe mgbe sị, “Ruberenụ m isi.”
When I brought their ancestors out of Egypt, I solemnly pleaded with them many times to obey me, and I am still pleading with them now.
8 Ma ha jụrụ ige ntị. Ha akpọkwaghị okwu m mkpa dịrị ha. Kama ha jegharịrị nʼisiike nke obi ọjọọ ha. Ọ bụ nke a mere m ji mee ka ọbụbụ ọnụ niile nke ya na ọgbụgba ndụ ahụ so bịakwasị ha, dịka m buru ụzọ nye nʼiwu, ma ihe ndị a emeghị ka ha jezie ije.’”
But they did not obey me or [even] pay any attention to me. Everyone continued to be stubborn and to do the evil things that they wanted to do. I commanded them to do what was written in the agreement, but they refused. So I punished them in all the ways that I promised that I would.”
9 Mgbe ahụ, Onyenwe anyị gwara m sị, “Achọpụtala na-enwere njikọta na ịgba izu mmegide nʼetiti ndị Juda na ndị bi na Jerusalem.
Then Yahweh said to me, “The people of Jerusalem and [the other cities in] Judah are rebelling against me.
10 Ha alaghachila azụ nʼụdị mmehie ahụ nna nna ha mehiere, bụ ndị ahụ jụrụ ige ntị nʼokwu m. Ha agbasoola chi ndị ọzọ na-efe ha. Ụlọ Izrel na ụlọ Juda adịghị edebekwa ọgbụgba ndụ ahụ mụ na nna nna ha gbara.
Their ancestors refused to do what I told them to do, and [now] these people have returned to committing the sins that their ancestors committed. They are worshiping other gods. The people of Israel disobeyed the agreement that I made with their ancestors, and [now] the people of Judah have done the same thing.
11 Nʼihi ya, nke a bụ ihe Onyenwe anyị kwuru, ‘Aga m eme ka mbibi, nke ha na-enweghị ike ịgbanarị, bịakwasị ha. Ọ bụrụkwa na ha akpọkuo m agaghị m aṅa ntị.
So now I, Yahweh, am warning them that I will cause them to experience disasters, and they will not escape them. And when they cry out for me [to help them], I will not pay attention.
12 Ndị obodo Juda na ndị bi na Jerusalem ga-apụ kpọkuo chi ndị ahụ niile ha na-achụrụ aja ihe nsure ọkụ na-esi isi ụtọ, ma chi ndị a agaghị enyere ha aka mgbe mbibi a bịakwasịrị ha.
When that happens, the people in Jerusalem and [other] cities in Judah will [offer sacrifices and] burn incense to their gods and ask for their help, but those gods will not be able to save them when those disasters come to them.
13 Gị, bụ Juda, nwere ọtụtụ chi dị iche iche dịka obodo dị nʼime gị si dị ọtụtụ. Ebe ịchụ aja i wukwara nʼihi ịchụrụ chi ahụ na-eweta ihere bụ Baal aja ihe nsure ọkụ na-esi isi ụtọ, dịkwa ọtụtụ dịka okporoụzọ dị na Jerusalem.’
There are more gods in Judah than there are towns in Judah, and the people of Jerusalem have erected as many altars to burn incense [to those gods] as there are streets in Jerusalem.
14 “Ekperela ndị a ekpere, arịọkwala arịrịọ ọbụla nʼihi ha. Nʼihi na agaghị m ege ntị mgbe ha ga-akpọku m nʼoge ihe mgbu ha.
Jeremiah, do not pray for these people, and do not plead with me to rescue them. If you plead with me, I will not pay attention; and if they cry out to me for help when they are in distress, I will not listen to them.”
15 “Gịnị ka onye m hụrụ nʼanya na-eme nʼime ụlọnsọ ukwuu m, mgbe ya na ọtụtụ ndị ọzọ na-ejikọta onwe ha nʼotu ịtụ atụmatụ ihe ọjọọ? Anụ e doro nsọ apụghị ime ka ahụhụ unu kwesiri ịnata hapụ ịbịakwasị unu. A sị na o si otu a dịrị, mgbe ahụ, unu pụrụ ịṅụrị ọṅụ mgbe unu na-eme ihe ọjọọ unu.”
Then Yahweh said, “The people [of Judah] whom I love certainly no longer have [RHQ] a right to come to my temple, because they continually do many evil things. [They think that] continually making sacrifices of meat to me certainly will [RHQ] protect them from disasters, with the result that they will be able to rejoice.
16 Aha Onyenwe anyị nyere gị bụ Osisi oliv dị ndụ, nke na-amị mkpụrụ mara mma. Ma ọ bụ olu mkpọtụ nke oke mmiri ozuzo ka ọ ga-eji mụkwasị gị ọkụ; alaka gị ga-agbajisikwa.
I previously said that they were like an olive tree full of green leaves with a lot of good olives on it, but [now I will send their enemies to attack] them furiously; [it is as though] I will break off their branches, and [their city] will be destroyed by fire.
17 Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile bụ onye ahụ kụnyere gị nʼala, e nyela iwu na mbibi ga-abịakwasị gị, nʼihi na ndị Izrel na Juda emeela ihe ọjọọ, kpasuo m iwe site nʼịchụ aja ihe nsure ọkụ na-esi isi ụtọ nye Baal.
[It is as though] the people of Judah and Israel were a beautiful olive tree that I, the Commander of the armies of angels, planted, but [now], by burning incense to [their god] Baal, they have caused me to become [very] angry. So [now] I have decided to destroy them.”
18 Ọ bụ Onyenwe anyị kpughere izuzu ọjọọ ha nye m; amatakwara m ihe ha na-ezube, nʼihi na o gosiri m ya nʼoge ahụ.
Yahweh revealed to me that [my enemies] were planning to kill me.
19 Mụ onwe m dị ka nwa atụrụ dị nwayọọ nke e du na-aga ebe a ga-egbu ya.
[Before he did that], I was like a lamb that was being led away to be slaughtered; I did not know what they were planning to do. I did not know that they were saying, “Let’s get rid of this tree and its fruit,” so [I did not know] that they intended to kill me, in order that no one would remember me [MTY].
20 Ma gị, Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile, ị bụ onye na-ekpe ikpe ziri ezi, na-anwapụtakwa obi mmadụ na mmụọ ya. Mee ka m hụ mgbe ị ga-abọ ọbọ megide ha, nʼihi na ọ bụ nʼaka gị ka m na-etinye okwu a metụtara m.
[Then I prayed], “Commander of the armies of angels, you judge people justly/fairly, and you examine everything that we are thinking [DOU]. Allow me to watch you getting revenge on the people [who want to kill me], because I trust that you will do for me what is right.”
21 Ya mere, nke a ka Onyenwe anyị na-ekwu banyere ndị Anatot ahụ na-achọ ịnapụ gị ndụ gị, ndị ahụ na-asị gị, “Ebukwala amụma site nʼaha Onyenwe anyị ka ị ghara ịnwụ nʼaka anyị.”
It was the men of [my own town], Anathoth, who wanted to kill me, and they told me that they would kill me if I did not stop prophesying what Yahweh told me to say.
22 Nʼihi nke a Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile kwuru, sị, “Aga m ata ha ahụhụ. Ụmụ okorobịa ha ga-anwụ site na mma agha, ụnwụ ga-egbukwa ụmụ ha ndị ikom na ndị inyom.
So the Commander of the armies of angels said [about them], “I will punish them. Their young men will be killed in wars, and their children will die because they have no food.
23 O nweghị ndị ga-afọdụ ndụ nʼime ha nʼihi na a ga-eme ka oke mbibi bịakwasị ndị Anatot nʼafọ ahụ m ga-ata ha ahụhụ.”
I have set a time when I will bring disasters to the people of Anathoth, and when that happens, none of them will remain alive.”
