< Jemis 5 >

1 Ugbu a geenụ ntị unu ndị ọgaranya, oge eruola mgbe unu kwesiri ịkwa akwa na ịsụ ude nʼihi nsogbu na-akwado ịbịakwasị unu.
Go, now, you rich! Weep, howling over your miseries that are coming on [you];
2 Akụnụba unu ebidola ịta nchara, mkpu eripịakwala uwe unu.
your riches have rotted, and your garments have become moth-eaten;
3 Ọlaọcha na ọlaedo unu agbaala nchara. Nchara a ga-abụkwa ama megide unu, ọ ga-erepịa anụ ahụ unu dịka ọkụ. Unu akpakọtala akụ nʼụbọchị ikpeazụ ndị a.
your gold and silver have rotted, and the rust of them will be to you for a testimony, and will eat your flesh as fire. You have stored up treasure in the last days!
4 Geenụ ntị! Ụzụ akwa ndị ọrụ unu, ndị unu jụrụ ịkwụ ụgwọ ọrụ ha dị ka o kwesiri na-agbago imegide unu. Ụzụ akwa ndị ọrụ unu, ndị unu ghọgburu, eruola ntị Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile.
Behold, the reward of the workmen cries out, of those who in-gathered your fields, which has been fraudulently kept back by you, and the exclamations of those who reaped have entered into the ears of the LORD of Hosts;
5 Unu ebiela ndụ nke oke oriri na oke ọṅụṅụ nʼelu ụwa, na ndụ inye anụ ahụ unu ihe ọbụla na-akpa ya mkpa. Ma ugbu a, anụ ahụ unu ahụ gbara abụba ejikerela na-eche ụbọchị mgburi ya.
you lived in luxury on the earth, and were wanton; you nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter;
6 Unu amala ndị aka ha dị ọcha ikpe, gbukwaa ha, ọ bụladị mgbe ha na-egbochighị unu.
you condemned—you murdered the righteous; he does not resist you.
7 Nweenụ ntachiobi, ụmụnna m, cherenụ ọbịbịa Onyenwe anyị. Lee otu onye ọrụ ubi si eji ndidi na-eche mkpụrụ ọ kụrụ nʼala ubi ka ọ mịa. O ji ndidi na-eche ka mmiri ozuzo nke mbụ na nke ikpeazụ zokwasị ubi ya.
Be patient, then, brothers, until the coming of the LORD; behold, the farmer expects the precious fruit of the earth, being patient for it, until he may receive rain—early and latter;
8 Unu onwe unu kwesikwara inwe ndidi guzosiekwa ike nʼihi na ọbịbịa Onyenwe anyị dị nso.
you also be patient; establish your hearts, because the coming of the LORD has drawn near;
9 Ụmụnna m, unu atamula ntamu megide ibe unu, ka a hapụ ikpe unu ikpe! Lee, onye ikpe ahụ guzo nʼọnụ ụzọ.
do not murmur against one another, brothers, that you may not be condemned; behold, the Judge has stood before the door.
10 Ụmụnna m, dị ka ihe ilere anya banyere inwe ndidi na ahụhụ, mụtanụ ihe site nʼaka ndị amụma bụ ndị kwuru okwu nʼaha Onyenwe anyị.
Brothers, [as] an example of the suffering of evil and of patience, take the prophets who spoke in the Name of the LORD;
11 Anyị na-agụ ha ugbu a dịka ndị a gọziri agọzi nʼihi iguzosike ha. Unu anụla maka ogologo ntachiobi nke Job nwere, unu ahụkwala nzube Onyenwe anyị nʼihi na Onyenwe anyị jupụtara nʼebere na ọmịiko.
behold, we call those who are enduring blessed; you heard of the endurance of Job, and you have seen the end from the LORD, that the LORD is very compassionate, and pitying.
12 Karịsịa ụmụnna m, unu aṅụla iyi. Unu aṅụkwala iyi mgbe ọbụla, ọ bụladị iji eluigwe maọbụ ụwa, maọbụ ihe ọbụla ọzọ ṅụọ iyi. Kama ka “E” unu bụrụ “E.” Ka “E e,” unu bụrụkwa “E e.” Ka unu hapụ isite nʼụzọ dị otu a mehie ma wetakwara onwe unu ikpe ọmụma.
And before all things, my brothers, do not swear, neither by Heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath, but let your “Yes” be yes, and the “No,” no, that you may not fall under judgment.
13 Ọ dị onye ọbụla nʼetiti unu nọ na nsogbu? Ka onye dị otu ahụ kpee ekpere. Ọ dị onye na-aṅụrị ọṅụ? Ya bụọ abụ otuto.
Does anyone suffer evil among you? Let him pray; is anyone of good cheer? Let him sing psalms;
is anyone sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, having anointed him with oil, in the Name of the LORD,
15 Ekpere nke okwukwe ga-azọpụta onye ọrịa ahụ. Onyenwe anyị ga-ekulite ya, ọ bụrụkwa na o mehiere, a ga-agbaghara ya.
and the prayer of faith will save the distressed one, and the LORD will raise him up, and if he may have committed sins, they will be forgiven to him.
16 Ya mere kwupụtaranụ ibe unu mmehie unu. Kpeekwaranụ ibe unu ekpere ka e nwe ike gwọọ unu. Ekpere onye ezi omume dị ike dịkwa ire.
Be confessing to one another the trespasses, and be praying for one another, that you may be healed; very strong is a working supplication of a righteous man;
17 Ịlaịja bụ mmadụ dị ka anyị, ma o kpere ekpere rịọ ka mmiri hapụ izo, mmiri ezokwaghị nʼala ahụ ruo afọ atọ na ọnwa isii.
Elijah was a similar-feeling man as us, and with prayer he prayed—not to rain, and it did not rain on the land three years and six months;
18 Emesịa, o kpekwara ekpere ọzọ, eluigwe nyere mmiri ozuzo, meekwa ka ala pupụta ihe oriri.
and again he prayed, and the sky gave rain, and the land brought forth her fruit.
19 Ụmụnna m, ọ bụrụ na onye ọbụla nʼetiti unu esite nʼeziokwu ahụ jehie, ma otu onye nʼime unu akpọghachi ya azụ,
Brothers, if anyone among you may go astray from the truth, and anyone may turn him back,
20 chetanụ nke a na onye ọbụla kpọghachitere onye mmehie azụ site na njehie ya, ga-azọpụta ha nʼaka ọnwụ ma kpuchiekwa ọtụtụ mmehie.
let him know that he who turned back a sinner from the straying of his way will save a soul from death, and will cover a multitude of sins.
