For no fatigue [befalleth] him that oppresseth it; in the first time he made light of the land of Zebulun, and the land of Naphtali, and at the last he will deal hard, with the way by the sea, on the other side of the Jordan, [up to] the Galilee of the nations.
2 Ndị nọ na-agagharị nʼọchịchịrị ahụla ìhè dị ukwuu; ndị ahụ bi nʼala nke onyinyo ọnwụ ka ìhè nwukwasịrị.
The people that walk in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death—a light shineth brightly over them.
3 I meela ka mba ahụ baa ụba dịrị ukwuu, mee ka ọṅụ ha dịkwa ukwuu, ha na-enwe ọṅụ nʼihu gị, dịka ọṅụ nke ndị ọrụ ubi nʼoge owuwe ihe ubi, dịka ndị agha na-etegharị egwu ọṅụ mgbe ha na-ekesa ihe a kwatara nʼagha.
Thou hast multiplied the nation, made great their joy: they rejoice before thee as with the joy in harvest, as men are glad when they divide the spoil.
4 Nʼihi na dịka nʼụbọchị nke Midia, i gbajisiela ibu arọ niile e bokwasịrị ha, ihe mgbochi nke dị nʼubu ha, nke bụ mkpara ndị na-akpagbu ha.
For the yoke of their burden, and the staff on their shoulder, the rod of their oppressor, hast thou broken, as on the day of Midian.
5 Nʼihi na akpụkpọụkwụ nke ndị agha na-eyi, na uwe agha nke ọbara mechuru, ha ga-abụ ihe a ga-agba ọkụ, ha ga-abụ ihe ndị ga-eme ka ọkụ ree nke ọma.
For all the weapons of the fighter in the battle's tumult, and the garment rolled in blood, shall be burnt, become food for fire.
6 Nʼihi na amụọrala anyị otu nwa, e nyekwala anyị otu nwa nwoke. Ọ ga-abụkwa onye ga-achị anyị. Ndị a ga-abụ aha ya, Onye Ndụmọdụ dị Ebube, Chineke bụ dike, Nna nke mgbe ebighị ebi, Eze Udo.
For a child is born unto us, a son hath been given unto us, and the government is placed on his shoulders; and his name is called, Wonderful, counsellor of the mighty God, of the everlasting Father, the prince of peace,
7 Alaeze ya ga-aba ụba, ọchịchị eze ya ga-abụ nʼọnọdụ udo nke na-enweghị ọgwụgwụ. Ọ bụ nʼocheeze Devid ka ọ ga-anọkwasị, chịakwa nʼalaeze ya. Ọ ga-eme ka alaeze ahụ guzosie ike; ọ bụkwa ikpe ziri ezi na ezi omume ka ọ ga-eji chịa site nʼoge ahụ ruo mgbe ebighị ebi. Ịnụ ọkụ nke Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile, ga-emezukwa nke a.
For [promoting] the increase of the government, and for peace without end, upon the throne of David and upon his kingdom, to establish it and to support it through justice and righteousness, from henceforth and unto eternity: the zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.
8 Onyenwe anyị eziela ozi megide Jekọb ọ ga-adakwasịkwa Izrel.
A word hath the Lord sent against Jacob, and it hath alighted upon Israel.
And experience it shall all the people together, Ephraim and the inhabitants of Samaria; because they say, in the pride and haughtiness of heart,
10 “Nkume brik ndị ahụ adakpọsịala ma anyị ga-eji nkume a waziri awazi wughachi ha; ọ bụ ezie na e gbutusịala osisi sikamọ niile anyị ji wuo ụlọ anyị, ma anyị ga-eji osisi ọma sida dochie ha.”
“The bricks are fallen down, but with hewn stones will we re-build: the sycamores are cut down, but with cedars will we replace them.”
Therefore will the Lord strengthen the adversaries of Rezin above him, and will stir up his enemies;
12 Ndị Aram sitere nʼọwụwa anyanwụ, na ndị Filistia sitere nʼọdịda anyanwụ ha e werela ọnụ ghere oghe richapụ Izrel. Ma nʼagbanyeghị ihe ndị a niile, iwe ya alaghachibeghị azụ, aka ya ka setịpụkwara esetipụ.
The Syrians in front, and the Philistines behind; and they shall devour Israel with a full mouth. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand still remaineth stretched out.
13 Ma ọ bụ ezie na Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile ataala ha ahụhụ dị otu a, ndị Izrel echegharibeghị, ha alọghachikwutebeghị ya.
And the people return not unto him that smiteth them, and the Lord of hosts do they not seek.
14 Nʼihi ya, nʼotu ụbọchị, Onyenwe anyị ga-ebibi ndịisi Izrel na ndị ọdụdụ, ọ ga-ebibikwa alaka nkwụ na osisi achara niile.
And the Lord cutteth off from Israel head and tail, palm-branch and rush, on one day.
15 Ndị okenye na ndị a maara aha ha bụ ndịisi ha, ndị amụma ụgha bụ ọdụdụ ha.
The ancient and honorable is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies is the tail.
And the guides of this people are those that guide to error; and those that are led of them are misled.
17 Ya mere, Onyenwe anyị agaghị enwe mmasị nʼụmụ okorobịa ahụ, ọ gaghị enwekwa obi ebere nʼebe ụmụ ndị na-enweghị nna maọbụ nʼebe ụmụ nwanyị na-enweghị dị nọ, nʼihi na onye ọbụla nʼime ha adịghị asọpụrụ Chineke, bụrụkwa ndị ajọ omume, ọnụ onye ọbụla na-ekwu ihe nzuzu. Ma nʼagbanyeghị ihe ndị a niile, iwe ya alaghachibeghị azụ, aka ya ka setịpụkwara esetipụ.
Therefore will the Lord have no joy in their young men, and on their fatherless and widows will he have no mercy; for every one is a hypocrite and an evil-doer, and every mouth speaketh scandalous words. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand still remaineth stretched out.
For wickedness burneth like the fire; it shall devour the briers and thorns: and it shall kindle [a flame] in the thickets of the forest, and they shall be shrouded by the wreaths of smoke.
19 Nʼihi iwe ahụ Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile na-ewe, ahụhụ ọ ga-enye ga-adị ka ọkụ na-ere ere; ọ na-erepịa ala ahụ niile na ndị bi nʼime ya; ọ dịkwaghị onye ga-azọpụta ibe ya.
Through the fury of the Lord of hosts is the land scorched, and the people have become as food for the fire; no man will spare his brother.
20 Nʼala ahụ niile, ma nʼaka nri ma nʼaka ekpe, onye ọbụla ga-agbalị ịdọtara onwe ya ihe oriri. Ha ga-eri ma afọ agaghị eju ha; nʼezie, ha ga-eri ọ bụladị anụ ahụ ụmụ nke aka ha.
And he snatcheth on the right hand, and is [yet] hungry; and he eateth on the left hand, and are not [yet] satisfied; they shall eat every man the flesh of his own arm:
21 Ndị Manase ga-alụso ndị Ifrem ọgụ, ndị Ifrem ga-alụsokwa ndị Manase ọgụ. Ha abụọ kwa ga-ejikọta aka lụso Juda ọgụ. Ma nʼagbanyeghị ihe ndị a niile, iwe ya alaghachibeghị azụ. Aka ya ka setịpụkwara esetipụ.
Menasseh [against] Ephraim: and Ephraim [against] Menasseh; and they together against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand still remaineth stretched out.
