1 Ọ gaara adị mma ma asị na ị ga-adọwa eluigwe rịdata nʼala, ma asị nʼugwu ukwu niile ga-ama jijiji nʼihu gị!
Oh that thou mightest rend the heavens, come down: at thy presence would mountains [then] melt away.
2 Dịka mgbe ọkụ na-agba ụmụ osisi, na-eme ka mmiri e sikwasịrị nʼọkụ gbọọ. Si nʼelu rịdata bịa mee ka ndị iro gị niile maara aha gị, meekwa ka mba niile dị iche iche maa jijiji nʼihu gị.
As fire is kindled on brushwood, as water is made to bubble up by fire—to make thy name known to thy adversaries, that at thy presence nations might tremble!
3 Nʼihi na ọ bụ mgbe i mere ọtụtụ ihe egwu dị iche iche nke anyị na-atụghị anya ya ka ị rịdatara mee ka ugwu ukwu niile maa jijiji nʼihu gị.
[As] when thou didst fearful deeds which we had not looked for, thou camest down, [while] at thy presence mountains melted away;
4 Nʼihi na site na mgbe ochie, ọ dịbeghị onye nụrụ, ọ dịbeghị ntị ghọtara, o nwebeghị anya hụrụ Chineke ọzọ karịa gị, onye na-emejupụtara ndị na-echere ya ihe na-akpa ha.
Yea! what from the beginning of the world men had not heard, not perceived by their hearing; no eye [also] had seen a god beside thee, who could do [the like] for the one that waiteth for him.
5 Ị na-enyere ndị na-eme ezi ihe aka, bụ ndị ji ọṅụ na-echeta ụzọ gị nʼechiche uche ha. Ma mgbe anyị nọgidere na-emehie megide ha, iwe were gị. A ga-esikwanụ aṅaa zọpụta anyị?
Thou acceptest him that rejoiceth and worketh righteousness, those that remember thee in thy ways: behold, thou wast wroth, for we had sinned on them continually; and can we thus be saved?
6 Anyị niile dịka onye rụrụ arụ, ezi omume anyị niile kwa dịka nkịrịnka akwa ruru unyi. Anyị akpọnwụọla dịka akwụkwọ osisi, mmehie anyị na-ebufukwa anyị dịka ifufe.
And we are become like an unclean man all of us, and like a soiled garment, all our righteousness; and we wither like a leaf all of us; and our iniquities, like the wind, will bear us away.
7 Ọ dịghị onye nʼime anyị na-arịọ gị arịrịọ; ọ dịkwaghị onye na-akpọku aha gị. Nʼihi ya, i zoola ihu gị site nʼebe anyị nọ, meekwa ka anyị bụrụ ndị gbazere agbaze nʼihi mmehie anyị.
And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth himself up to lay hold of thee; for thou hast hidden thy face from us, and hast let us melt away, through the force of our iniquities.
8 Ma otu ọbụla o si dị, gị Onyenwe anyị bụ Nna anyị. Anyị bụ ụrọ, ma ị bụ ọkpụ ite. Ọ bụ aka gị kpụrụ anyị niile.
But now, O Lord, our father art thou; we are the clay, and thou our fashioner; and the work of thy hand are we all.
9 Biko, Onyenwe anyị, anọgidela na-eweso anyị iwe; echetakwala mmehie anyị ọzọ ruo mgbe ebighị ebi. Biko, lekwasị anyị anya nʼihi na ndị gị ka anyị bụ.
Be not wroth, O Lord, so very greatly, and do not for ever remember [our] iniquity: behold, look, we beseech thee, thy people are we all.
10 Obodo nsọ gị niile aghọọla ọzara; ọ bụladị Zayọn aghọọla ọzara, Jerusalem, ebe tọgbọrọ nʼefu.
Thy holy cities are become a wilderness, Zion is become a wilderness, Jerusalem, a desolate place.
11 Ụlọnsọ ukwu anyị ahụ mara mma, nke dịkwa nsọ, ebe nna anyị ha nọ too gị, ma feekwa gị ofufe, abụrụla ihe a gbara ọkụ. Ihe niile mara mma nʼime ya alaala nʼiyi.
Our holy and beautiful house where our fathers praised thee, is burnt up with fire; and all our costly things are become ruins.
12 Mgbe ihe niile gasịrị, Onyenwe anyị, ị ga-ejisi onwe gị ike? Ị ga-agba nkịtị, taa anyị ahụhụ ebe ọ gafere oke?
Wilt thou for these things refrain thyself, O Lord? wilt thou be silent, and afflict us so very greatly?
