1 Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị sịrị, “Olee ebe akwụkwọ m ji gbaa nne unu alụkwaghị m dị bụ nke m ji chụpụ ya? Ma ọ bụ onye nʼime ndị m ji ụgwọ ka m resiri unu? Ọ bụ nʼihi mmehie unu ka e ji ree unu; nʼihi mmebi iwu unu ka e jiri chụọ nne unu.
This is what the Lord says: Where's your mother's divorce certificate I gave her when I sent her away? Which of my creditors did I sell you to? Now look! You were sold because of your sins, and your mother was sent away because of your wrongdoing.
2 Gịnị mere o ji bụrụ na o nweghị onye nọ ya mgbe m bịara? Gịnị mere o nweghị onye zara m mgbe m kpọrọ oku? Ọ pụtara na aka m dị mkpụmkpụ ịzọpụta unu? Ọ ga-abụ na m enwekwaghị ike ịzọpụta? Nʼihi na enwere m ike ịbara osimiri mba mee ya ka ọ ghọọ ala akọrọ. Enwere m ike ime ka osimiri ghọrọ ọzara, ka azụ niile dị nʼime ya nwụọ nʼihi enweghị mmiri.
When I came, why wasn't anyone there? When I called, why didn't anyone answer? Is it because I don't have the strength to save you, or the power to rescue you? Can't you see that if I order it, the sea will dry up? I can turn rivers into a desert. Their fish stink because they've died of thirst since there's no water.
3 Ọ bụ mụ bụ onye ahụ na-eme ka ọchịchịrị kpuchie ihu eluigwe, ka ihu eluigwe dịrị ka ihu onye na-eru ụjụ.”
I can make the heavens go dark, covering them with sackcloth like they're in mourning.
4 Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị enyela m amamihe ya ka m nwee ike ịmata ihe m ga-agwa ndị a ike gwụrụ. Ụtụtụ niile ka ọ na-akpọte mmụọ m, meghee akpa uche m, ime ka m ghọta uche ya.
The Lord God has given me the ability to teach others, to know how to encourage those who are exhausted with a word. He wakes me up every morning; he helps me listen as a disciple.
5 Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị emeghela ntị m abụọ, ma enupughị m isi, a tụgharịkwaghị m azụ.
The Lord God has instructed me, and I haven't been rebellious and I haven't turned away.
6 Azụ m ka m megheere ndị tiri m ihe; agba nti m abụọ ka m hapụụrụ ndị hopusiri m afụọnụ m. Ezopụghị m ihu m nʼebe ndị na-akwa emo, na ndị na-agbụ ọnụ mmiri nọ.
I offered my back for people to beat me and my cheeks for people to pull my beard. I didn't hide my face from their mocking and spitting.
7 Ebe ọ bụ na Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị na-enyere m aka, ihere agaghị eme m. Nʼihi ya, ejikerela m onwe m ime uche ya; agaghị m elekwa anya nʼazụ, a maara m na ihere agaghị eme m.
The Lord God helps me, so I haven't been disgraced. That's why I'm so determined, setting my face hard as stone, knowing I won't be humiliated.
8 Nʼihi na onye na-agụ m nʼonye ezi omume nọ nso. Onye ga-apụta ibo m ebubo? Ya pụta ka anyị guzo ihu na ihu! Onye nwere ebubo megide m? Ya bịa ka anyị kwuo ya.
The one who vindicates me is close by, so who will bring charges against me? Let's stand to oppose one another! Come on, anyone who wants to accuse me!
9 Lee, Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị bụ onye na-enyere m aka. Onye pụrụ ịma m ikpe? Lee, ha niile ga-aka nka dịrị ka uwe, nla ga-erichapụkwa ha.
The Lord God defends me. Who is going to declare me guilty? Look! Those who try will fall apart like old clothing, eaten up by moths.
10 Onye nʼetiti unu bụ onye ahụ na-atụ egwu Onyenwe anyị, na-egekwa ntị nʼokwu odibo ya? Ka onye ahụ na-eje ije nʼọchịchịrị, nke na-enweghị ìhè ọbụla, tụkwasị obi nʼaha Onyenwe anyị daberekwa na Chineke ha.
Who among you respects the Lord and obeys what his servant says? Who among you walks in darkness and doesn't have light? Let them trust in the Lord and put their confidence in God.
11 Ma lee, unu niile ndị na-amụnye ọkụ, ndị meere onwe ha ọwaọkụ, nke unu ji na-ejegharị nʼọchịchịrị, gaanụ nʼihu na-ejegharị nʼìhè ọkụ ahụ unu mụnyeere onwe unu. Ihe unu ga-anata site nʼaka Onyenwe anyị bụ ihe mwute nke ga-abịakwasị unu.
Beware all you who start a fire, who pick up blazing torches! Go ahead, walk in the light of your own fire and of the torches you yourselves have set alight! This is what you will receive from me: You are going to lie down in a place of suffering.
