1 Nọrọnụ jụụ nʼihu m, unu mba niile mmiri gbara gburugburu! Ka mba niile gbanwee ike ha. Ka ha pụta kwuo okwu. Ka anyị zukọtaa nʼebe ikpe ikpe.
Listen to me in silence, you people who live in lands beyond the sea. Let the nations regain their strength. Then let them come and speak, and let us join together for judgment.
Who has encouraged this one from the east who is called into God's service to do what is right? He gives him nations, and helps him trample kings underfoot. He makes them like dust with his sword, and turns them into chaff with his bow, blown before him on the wind.
He chases them down, and goes on unharmed, not following the usual routes.
4 Ọ bụ onye rụrụ ọrụ dị otu a mezukwa ya, na-akpọ ọgbọ niile site na mmalite? Ọ bụ mụ onwe m, bụ Onyenwe anyị, onye dị siterị na mbido ihe niile, onye ga-adịgidekwa ruo ọgwụgwụ ihe niile. Ọ bụ mụ onwe m bụ onye ahụ.”
Who has achieved and done this, calling into existence each generation from the beginning of time? I, the Lord, the first and the last, I am the one.
The islands watch in fear, the distant lands tremble. They get together and consult.
They all help each other, encouraging one another to “Be strong!”
7 Onye ọkpụ ụzụ ọla na-agba onye ọkpụ ụzụ ọlaedo ume. Onye ji mkpirisi igwe eme ka ihe dị mụrụmụrụ, na-agba onye na-akụ osiama ume. Otu onye na-ekwu banyere nkpukọta ya, na-asị, “A kpụziri ya akpụzi.” Onye nke ọzọ, na-eji ǹtu kpọgidesie ihe ahụ apịrị apị ike ka ọ ghara ịda.
The craftsman encourages the goldsmith; the one who beats out the metal with a hammer encourages the one hitting the anvil, saying the soldering is good. They nail the idol down so it won't fall over.
8 “Ma gị onwe gị, Izrel, ohu m, Jekọb, onye m họpụtara, gị mkpụrụ Ebraham, bụ enyi m.
But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, the ones I have chosen, descendants of my friend Abraham,
9 Esitere m na nsọtụ niile nke ụwa kpọghachi unu, gwa unu na ohu m ka unu bụ, nʼihi na ahọpụtala m unu, agakwaghị m ahapụ unu.
I brought you back from distant lands, I called you back from faraway places, telling you, “You are my servants.” I have chosen you, and I have not abandoned you.
Don't be afraid, for I am with you! Don't be frightened for I, your God, will make you strong, and I will certainly help you. I will support you with my strong hand, acting for what is right.
11 “Lee! A ga-etinye ndị niile iwe ha dị ọkụ megide unu nʼọnọdụ ihe ihere, ihere ga-emekwa ha. Ndị niile na-eguzogide unu ga-aghọ ihe efu, bụrụ ndị lara nʼiyi.
See—everyone who is angry with you will be ashamed and disgraced. Those who fight against you will end up as nothing and die.
Ndị a na-ebuso unu agha ga-abụ naanị ihe efu.
Even though you look for your enemies, you won't find them. Those who attack you will become absolutely nothing.
13 Nʼihi na mụ onwe m, bụ Onyenwe anyị Chineke gị, onye na-ejidesi aka nri gị ike bụ onye na-asị gị, ‘Atụla egwu; aga m enyere gị aka.’
For I the Lord will grab you by the hand and tell you, “Don't be afraid! I myself will help you.
14 Atụla egwu, gị idide, bụ Jekọb, unu Izrel dị nta, atụla egwu, nʼihi na mụ onwe m ga-enyere gị aka,” otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwupụtara, Onye mgbapụta gị, bụ Onye nsọ nke Izrel.
Don't be frightened, Jacob, you little worm, you people of Israel, for I will help you,” declared the Lord your Savior, the Holy One of Israel.
15 “Lee, aga m eme ka unu ghọọ igwe ọhụrụ eji azọcha mkpụrụ ọka nke dị nkọ, nwekwa ọtụtụ eze. Unu ga-azọcha ugwu niile zọpịa ha, meekwa ka ugwu nta niile dịka igbugbo ọka.
Look! I will make you into a new and sharp threshing device, with many pointed teeth. You will thresh the mountains and crush the hills, turning them into chaff.
16 Unu ga-ayọgharị, fụchaa ha; ikuku ga-eburu ha bufuo, oke ikuku ga-ekposasị ha. Ma unu ga-aṅụrị ọṅụ nʼime Onyenwe anyị, nyaakwa isi nʼime Onye dị nsọ nke Izrel.
You will throw them into the air, the wind will carry them away, and a storm will scatter them. Then you will be happy in the Lord, and boast about the Holy One of Israel.
17 “Mgbe mmiri ọṅụṅụ kọrọ ndị ogbenye na ndị mkpa na-akpa, mgbe ha na-enweghị ike ịchọta mmiri ọṅụṅụ mgbe akpịrị na-akpọ ha nkụ nʼihi agụụ mmiri, mụ onwe m bụ Onyenwe anyị ga-aza ha. Mụ onwe m, bụ Chineke nke Izrel, agaghị agbakụta ha azụ.
The poor and needy search for water, but don't find any—their tongues are dry with thirst. I, the Lord, will respond to them; I, the God of Israel, won't abandon them.
I will open up rivers in the desolate highlands and springs in the valleys. I will make pools in the wilderness and springs in the desert.
19 Aga m akụ nʼọzara, osisi sida, na osisi akashia, na osisi mietul, na osisi oliv. M ga-eji osisi junipa, na osisi saipres na osisi fịa, kụkọta ha ọnụ nʼala ahụ tọgbọrọ nʼefu,
I will plant cedars, acacias, myrtles, and olive trees in the desert. I will place evergreens in the desert, firs and box trees together.
20 ka ndị mmadụ hụ, matakwa, tuleekwa uche ma ghọta, na ọ bụ aka Onyenwe anyị mere nke a, na ọ bụ Onye nsọ nke Izrel kere ya.
In this way everyone can see and know, they can think about it and draw the conclusion that the it is the Lord who has done this, that the Holy One of Israel made it happen.
21 “Wepụtanụ mkpesa unu,” ka Onyenwe anyị sịrị, “Doo okwu unu nʼusoro,” ka Eze nke Jekọb na-asịkwa.
“Now you submit your case,” says the Lord. “Present your evidence,” says the King of Jacob.
“Let them come and tell us what's about to happen. Let them explain the things of the past, so that we can think about them and discover the final outcome. Or they can tell us about the future.
Predict what's coming so we can know for sure that you are gods. At least do something, good or bad, to impress us when we see it.
24 Ma unu dị nta karịa ihe efu. Ọrụ unu niile bụkwa ihe na-abaghị uru. Onye họọrọ unu emeela onwe ya ihe arụ.
But look at you! You're nothing, and you can't do anything! Anyone who chooses you is disgusting!
I have encouraged the one who comes from the north. He is from the east, and will respect me. He will tread on rulers as if they were mortar, like a potter treading on clay.
26 O kwuru maka nke a site na mmalite, ka anyị nwee ike mara, maọbụ mgbe na o mebeghị, ka anyị nwee ike sị, ‘Ihe o kwuru ziri ezi’? O nweghị onye kwuru ihe banyere nke a, o nweghịkwa onye mere ka amata ya, o nwekwaghị onye si nʼọnụ gị nụ okwu ọbụla.
Who announced this beforehand so that we could know about it? Who let us know in the past, so that now we could say: ‘He was right’? None of you announced it, none of you predicted it, and nobody heard you say a word!
27 Abụ m onye mbụ gwara Zayọn, ‘Lee, nʼebe a ka ha dị!’ Ọ bụ m ziteere Jerusalem onyeozi oziọma.
I was the first to announce to Zion: ‘Look, here they are!’ I was the one who brought to Jerusalem the good news.
28 Elegharịrị m anya ma o nweghị onye m hụrụ. O nweghị onye nọ nʼetiti chi ha nke nwere ike inye ndụmọdụ; o nweghị onye inye ọsịsa ajụjụ mgbe m jụrụ ha.
I look at these idols, and find there is no one who can say anything. None of them can give advice; when I ask them something, they can't even answer.
29 Lee, ha niile bụ ụgha! Ọrụ ha niile pụtara ihe efu, arụsị ha niile awuru awu bụ naanị ifufe na ọgbaaghara.
Look at them! They're all evil, deceptive things. They can't do anything! They're just idols full of hot air!”
