For behold, the sovereign Lord of hosts will take away, from Jerusalem and from Judah, the powerful and the strong: all the strength from bread, and all the strength from water;
2 Ọ ga-ewezugakwa ndị bụ dike nʼetiti ha, na onye agha, na onye ikpe, na onye amụma, na onye na-ajụ ase, na ndị okenye ha,
the strong man, and the man of war, the judge and the prophet, and the seer and the elder;
the leader over fifty and the honorable in appearance; and the counselor, and the wise among builders, and the skillful in mystical speech.
4 “Aga m eme ka ụmụ okorobịa ghọọ ndị ozi ha, meekwa ka ụmụ na-aṅụ ara bụrụ ndị ịchị isi dị nʼaka ha.”
And I will provide children as their leaders, and the effeminate will rule over them.
5 Ndị mmadụ ga-emegbu ibe ha, otu onye megide onye ọzọ, onye agbataobi megide onye agbataobi ibe ya. Ụmụ okorobịa ga-ebili megide ndị okenye, ndị a na-elelị ga-emegide ndị a na-asọpụrụ.
And the people will rush, man against man, and each one against his neighbor. The child shall rebel against the elder, and the ignoble against the noble.
6 Otu nwoke ga-ejide nwanne ya nwoke nʼụlọ nna ya sị ya, “I nwere akwa mgbochi, bụrụ onyendu anyị; lekọta mkpọmkpọ ebe a anya.”
For a man will apprehend his brother, from the household of his own father, saying: “The vestment is yours. Be our leader, but let this ruin be under your hand.”
7 Ma ọ ga-azaghachi nʼụbọchị ahụ sị, “O nweghị ihe m pụrụ ime. Enweghị m nri maọbụ akwa mgbochi nʼụlọ m. Emela m onyendu ndị a.”
In that day, he will respond by saying: “I am not a healer, and there is no bread or vestment in my house. Do not choose to appoint me as a leader of the people.”
8 Lee na Jerusalem na-asọ ngọngọ. Juda na-adakwa.
For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah has fallen, because their words and their plans are against the Lord, in order to provoke the eyes of his majesty.
9 Ihu ha na-egosi ihe ha bụ. Ọ na-ezipụta ajọ omume ha. Ha na-anya isi nʼime mmehie ha dịka Sọdọm. Ihere adịghịkwa eme ha. Ahụhụ ga-adịrị ha, nʼihi na ha ejirila aka ha kpatara onwe ha ahụhụ.
The acknowledgement of their countenance is their response. For they have proclaimed their own sin, like Sodom; and they have not concealed it. Woe to their souls! For evils are being repaid to them.
10 Zie ndị ezi omume niile ozi sị ha, na ihe ga-agara ha nke ọma, nʼihi na mkpụrụ sitere nʼomume ha niile ka ha ga-eri.
Tell the just man that it is well, for he shall eat from the fruit from his own plans.
Woe to the impious man immersed in evil! For retribution will be given to him from his own hands.
12 Ụmụ okorobịa na-emegbu ndị m, ụmụ nwanyị na-achịkwa ha. Ndị m, lee na ndị na-achị unu na-eduhie unu ụzọ. Ha na-eme ka unu kpafuo; ha esitela nʼezi ụzọ wezuga unu.
As for my people, their oppressors have despoiled them, and women have ruled over them. My people, who call you blessed, the same are deceiving you and disrupting the path of your steps.
13 Onyenwe anyị anyị ewerela ọnọdụ ya nʼụlọikpe; ọ na-eguzo ikpe ndị ya niile ikpe.
The Lord stands for judgment, and he stands to judge the people.
14 Onyenwe anyị na-aba nʼikpe megide ndị okenye na ndị ndu nke ndị ya niile. Ọ bụ unu bụ ndị lara ubi vaịnị m nʼiyi; ihe unu ji aka ike pụnara ndị ogbenye jupụtara nʼụlọ unu.
The Lord will enter into judgment with the elders of his people, and with their leaders. For you have been devouring the vineyard, and the plunder from the poor is in your house.
15 Gịnị mere unu ji azọpịa ndị m, “Gịnị mere unu ji si otu a na-egwepịa ihu ndị ogbenye?” Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị, bụ Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile kwupụtara.
Why do you wear down my people, and grind up the faces of the poor, says the Lord, the God of hosts?
16 Ọzọkwa, Onyenwe anyị kwuru sị, “Ndị inyom Zayọn bụ ndị mpako. Ha ji olu e setịrị eseti, na anya na-achọgharị ndị ikom ha ga-aghọgbuta na-ejegharị. Ha na-ejegharịkwa na-arọ mma na-aṅagharịkwa ukwu, na-emekwa ka ihe ịchọ mma ọla ụkwụ ha na-ada ụda.
And the Lord said: Because the daughters of Zion have been lifted up, and have walked with extended necks and winking eyes, because they have continued on, walking noisily and advancing with a pretentious stride,
17 Nʼihi ya, Onyenwe anyị ga-eme ka ọnya jupụta nʼisi ndị inyom Zayọn, Onyenwe anyị ga-emekwa ka ha gharakwa inwe agịrị isi nʼisi ha.”
the Lord will make the heads of the daughters of Zion bald, and the Lord will strip them of the locks of their hair.
In that day, the Lord will take away their decorative shoes,
19 ma ọlantị, ma mgbaaka, ma akwa e ji ekpuchi ihu,
and the little moons and chains, and the necklaces and bracelets, and the hats,
20 ma akwa ha na-eyi nʼisi, na ọla ụkwụ, ma ihe ha na-eke nʼukwu, ma karama mmanụ isi ụtọ, ma ọgwụ dị iche iche;
and the ornaments for their hair, and the anklets, and the touches of myrrh and little bottles of perfumes, and the earrings,
and the rings, and the jewels hanging on their foreheads,
and the continual changes in appearance, and the short skirts, and the fine linens and embroidered cloths,
and the mirrors, and scarves, and ribbons, and their sparse clothing.
24 Nʼọnọdụ ụda ọma, ha ga-esi ure ure; nʼọnọdụ ihe ike nʼukwu, ha ga-ekekwasị onwe ha eriri; nʼọnọdụ agịrị isi e doziri edozi, ha agaghị enwe ọ bụladị otu agịrị isi; nʼọnọdụ akwa ọcha, ọ bụ akwa mkpe ka ha ga-eyi; nʼọnọdụ ịma mma, anụ ahụ ha ga-achakpọsị.
And in place of a sweet fragrance, there will be stench. And in place of a belt, there will be a rope. And in place of stylish hair, there will be baldness. And in place of a blouse, there will be haircloth.
25 Ndị ikom unu ka a ga-eji mma agha gbuo, ndị bụ dike ka a ga-egbu nʼagha.
Likewise, your most handsome men will fall by the sword, and your strong men will fall in battle.
26 Ọnụ ụzọ ama niile nke Zayọn ga-eti mkpu akwa ruokwa ụjụ. Ọ ga-atọgbọrọ nʼefu. Ọ ga-anọdụ nʼala.
And her gates will grieve and mourn. And she will sit on the ground, desolate.
