1 Okwu Onyenwe anyị nke bịakwutere Hosiya nwa Beiri nʼoge Uzaya, na Jotam, na Ehaz, na Hezekaya, bụ ndị eze Juda, na nʼoge Jeroboam nwa Jehoash bụ eze nʼIzrel.
The Lord sent a message to Hosea son of Beeri at the time when Uzziah, Jotham, and Ahaz were the kings of Judah, and Jeroboam son of Jehoash was the king of Israel.
2 Na mmalite okwu Onyenwe anyị site nʼọnụ Hosiya, Onyenwe anyị gwara Hosiya sị, “Gaa lụtara onwe gị nwanyị na-akwa iko na ụmụ amụtara nʼịkwa iko, nʼihi na dịka nwanyị alụrụ alụ nʼakwa iko, ala a na-akwa iko nke ukwu site nʼịgbahapụ Onyenwe anyị.”
The Lord began speaking through Hosea by telling him, “Go and take a wife who is a prostitute and have children born to a prostitute because those living in this land have committed terrible prostitution by turning away from the Lord.”
3 Ya mere, ọ gara lụọ Goma nwa Diblaim, onye tụụrụ ime mụọra ya nwa nwoke.
So Hosea went and married Gomer, the daughter of Diblaim. She became pregnant and bore Hosea a son.
4 Onyenwe anyị gwara ya, “Aha ị ga-agụ nwantakịrị ahụ bụ Jezril. Nʼihi na tupu nwa oge nta agafee, aga m ata ezinaụlọ Jehu ahụhụ nʼihi ọbara ọ wụsiri na Jezril. Aga m eme ka alaeze nke ụlọ Izrel kwụsị.
The Lord told Hosea, “Call him Jezreel, because I am going to punish the house of Jehu for the blood he shed at Jezreel, and I will put an end to the kingdom of Israel.
5 Nʼụbọchị ahụ, aga m agbaji ụta Izrel na Ndagwurugwu Jezril.”
On that day I will break Israel's military power in the valley of Jezreel.”
6 Emesịa, Goma tụụrụ ime ọzọ, mụta nwa nwanyị. Ọ gwara ya, “Aha ị ga-agụ ya bụ Lo-Ruhama, nʼihi na agaghị m enwekwa obi ebere ọzọ nʼahụ ụlọ Izrel, ịgbaghara ha mmehie ha.
Gomer became pregnant again and gave birth to a daughter. The Lord told Hosea, “Call her Lo-ruhamah, because I will no longer love the house of Israel and certainly not forgive them.
7 Ma aga m enwe obi ebere nʼahụ ụlọ Juda. Mụ onwe m ga-azọpụta ha site na Onyenwe anyị bụ Chineke ha. Agaghị m eji ngwa agha ọbụla, dịka ụta maọbụ mma agha maọbụ ike ibu agha maọbụ ịnyịnya maọbụ ndị na-agba ịnyịnya zọpụta ha.”
But I will have pity on the house of Judah, and I will save them—but I will not save them by bow or sword or war or horses and riders.”
8 Mgbe ọ jụrụ Lo-Ruhama ara, ọ tụụrụ ime ọzọ, mụọ nwa nwoke.
After Gomer had weaned Lo-ruhamah she became pregnant again and gave birth to a son.
9 Onyenwe anyị sịrị, “Kpọọ aha ya Lo-ammi, nke pụtara unu abụghị ndị m, nʼihi na unu abụghị ndị nke m, mụ onwe m abụkwaghị Chineke unu.
The Lord told Hosea, “Call him Lo-ammi, because you are not my people and I am not your God.
10 “Ma ọnụọgụgụ ụmụ Izrel ga-adị ka aja dị nʼọnụ oke osimiri nke a na-apụghị ịgụta ọnụ maọbụ tụọ nʼihe ọtụtụ. Nʼebe ahụ a nọ sị ha, ‘Unu abụghị ndị m,’ nʼebe ahụ ka a ga-anọ sịkwa ha, ‘Ụmụ Chineke dị ndụ ka unu bụ.’
Even so the number of the people of Israel will be like the sand on the seashore that cannot be measured or counted. Then right there at the place where they were told ‘you are not my people’ they will be called ‘the children of the living God.’
11 A ga-achịkọtakwa ndị Juda na ndị Izrel ọnụ. Ha ga-ahọpụtakwara onwe ha otu onyeisi, si nʼala ahụ rigopụta, nʼihi ihe ukwu ka ụbọchị Jezril ga-abụ.
The people of Israel and the people of Judah will be gathered together and they will choose one leader for themselves and they will take possession of the land, and the day of Jezreel will be great.”
