< Ndị Hibru 7 >

1 Melkizedek a bụ eze Salem, bụrụkwa onye nchụaja Chineke Onye kachasị ihe niile elu. Ọ zutere Ebraham mgbe o si na mmeri o meriri ọtụtụ ndị eze ahụ na-alọghachi, gọziekwa ya.
For this Melchisedec, King of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from smiting the kings, and blessed him;
2 Ebraham nyekwara ya otu ụzọ nʼime ụzọ iri nke ihe niile. Ihe mbụ aha ya pụtara bụ, “eze ezi omume,” ọzọkwa bụ “eze nke Salem,” nke pụtara, “eze udo.”
to whom Abraham gave also the tenth portion of all; first being interpreted King of righteousness, and then also King of Salem, which is King of peace;
3 O nweghị nna, o nwekwaghị nne, nke ọ na-enwe agbụrụ. O nweghị mmalite nke ụbọchị a mụrụ ya, maọbụ ọgwụgwụ ndụ, e mere ya dị ka Ọkpara Chineke. Ọ na-anọgide bụrụ onye nchụaja ruo mgbe ebighị ebi.
without father, without mother, without genealogy; having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but assimilated to the Son of God, abides a priest continually.
4 Leenụ otu o siri bụrụ onye dị ukwuu, ọ bụladị Ebraham bụ nna nna anyị nyere ya otu ụzọ nʼime ụzọ iri site nʼihe ọ kwatara nʼagha!
Now consider how great this [personage] was, to whom [even] the patriarch Abraham gave a tenth out of the spoils.
5 Ma otu ọ dị, iwu kwadoro ka ụmụ Livayị bụ ndị ghọrọ ndị nchụaja na-anakọta otu ụzọ nʼime ụzọ iri site nʼaka ndị ọzọ, ya bụ, site nʼaka ndị ụmụnna ha ndị Izrel, nʼagbanyeghị na ụmụnna ha ndị ahụ bụkwa ụmụ ụmụ Ebraham.
And they indeed from among the sons of Levi, who receive the priesthood, have commandment to take tithes from the people according to the law, that is from their brethren, though these are come out of the loins of Abraham:
6 Ma nwoke a bụ onye na-esiteghị nʼagbụrụ naara otu ụzọ nʼụzọ iri site nʼaka Ebraham ma gọziekwa ya bụ onye ahụ nke natara nkwa ahụ.
but he who has no genealogy from them has tithed Abraham, and blessed him who had the promises.
7 O nweghị ịrụrịta ụka ọbụla dị ya, na onye dị ukwuu na-agọzi onye dị nta.
But beyond all gainsaying, the inferior is blessed by the better.
8 Nʼotu aka ahụ, ndị na-anata otu ụzọ nʼụzọ iri bụ mmadụ na-anwụ anwụ, ma nʼaka nke ọzọ, onye na-anata ya bụ onye ahụ e kwupụtara na ọ na-adị ndụ.
And here dying men receive tithes; but there [one] of whom the witness is that he lives;
9 Mmadụ pụrụ isi na Livayị onye natara otu ụzọ nʼụzọ iri kwụrụ otu ụzọ nʼụzọ iri nke ya site nʼaka Ebraham.
and, so to speak, through Abraham, Levi also, who received tithes, has been made to pay tithes.
10 Nʼihi na mgbe Melkizedek zutere ya, ọ ka nọ nʼafọ nna nna ya.
For he was yet in the loins of his father when Melchisedec met him.
If indeed then perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, for the people had their law given to them in connexion with it, what need [was there] still that a different priest should arise according to the order of Melchisedec, and not be named after the order of Aaron?
12 Ebe a gbanwere ọnọdụ ndị nchụaja, nʼotu aka ahụ, a ghaghị ịgbanwekwa iwu.
For, the priesthood being changed, there takes place of necessity a change of law also.
13 Nʼihi na onye ahụ e kwuru ihe ndị a banyere ya sitere nʼagbụrụ ọzọ, nke ọ dịbeghị onye ọbụla sitere na ya rụrụ ọrụ dị nʼebe ịchụ aja.
For he, of whom these things are said, belongs to a different tribe, of which no one has [ever] been attached to the service of the altar.
14 Ọ bụ ihe a mara nke ọma na Onyenwe anyị si nʼagbụrụ Juda pụta, Mosis nʼonwe ya akpọtụghị agbụrụ ahụ aha mgbe ọ na-ekwu banyere ndị nchụaja.
For it is clear that our Lord has sprung out of Juda, as to which tribe Moses spake nothing as to priests.
15 E meela ka a ghọta okwu anyị na-ekwu nke ọma, mgbe onye nchụaja ọzọ yiri Melkizedek pụtara.
And it is yet more abundantly evident, since a different priest arises according to the similitude of Melchisedec,
16 Onye ghọrọ onye nchụaja ma ọ bụghị site nʼusoro iwu nke ọmụmụ ndị nchụaja, kama site nʼike dị na ndụ nke na-apụghị ịla nʼiyi.
who has been constituted not according to law of fleshly commandment, but according to power of indissoluble life.
17 Nʼihi na-agbara akaebe banyere ya, sị, “Gị onwe gị, bụ onye nchụaja ruo mgbe ebighị ebi, dị ka usoro Melkizedek si dị.” (aiōn g165)
For it is borne witness, Thou art a priest for ever according to the order of Melchisedec. (aiōn g165)
18 Nʼotu aka ahụ, e wezugala usoro iwu ochie ahụ nʼihi adịghị ike ya na nʼihi abaghị uru ya
For there is a setting aside of the commandment going before for its weakness and unprofitableness,
19 (nʼihi na iwu ahụ emeghị ka ihe ọbụla zuo oke), ma nʼaka nke ọzọ, e webatala olileanya ka mma, bụ nke anyị na-esite na ya bịaruo Chineke nso.
(for the law perfected nothing, ) and the introduction of a better hope by which we draw nigh to God.
20 Ma e ji ịṅụ iyi mee ka ọnọdụ onyeisi nchụaja a guzosie ike. O nweghị iyi a ṅụrụ mgbe ndị ọzọ ghọrọ ndị nchụaja.
And by how much [it was] not without the swearing of an oath;
21 Ma onye nke a ghọrọ onye nchụaja site nʼịṅụ iyi mgbe onye ahụ gwara ya, “Onyenwe anyị aṅụọla iyi, ọ gaghị agbanwe obi ya, ‘Ị bụ onye nchụaja ruo mgbe ebighị ebi.’” (aiōn g165)
(for they are become priests without the swearing of an oath, but he with the swearing of an oath, by him who said, as to him, The Lord has sworn, and will not repent [of it], Thou [art] priest for ever [according to the order of Melchisedec]; ) (aiōn g165)
22 Nʼihi nke a, Jisọs aghọọla onye na-akwagide ọgbụgba ndụ ka mma.
by so much Jesus became surety of a better covenant.
23 Ihe ọzọ, ndị nchụaja nke ochie ahụ dị ọtụtụ nʼọnụọgụgụ nʼihi na ọnwụ gbochiri ha ịga nʼihu nʼọrụ ha.
And they have been many priests, on account of being hindered from continuing by death;
24 Ya mere, ebe ọ na-adị ndụ ruo mgbe ebighị ebi, ọ na-abụkwa onyeisi nchụaja mgbe niile. (aiōn g165)
but he, because of his continuing for ever, has the priesthood unchangeable. (aiōn g165)
25 Ya mere o nwere ike ịzọpụta ruo mgbe niile ndị ahụ na-abịakwute Chineke site na ya, nʼihi na ọ na-adị ndụ ruo mgbe niile ịrịọ arịrịọ nʼihi ha.
Whence also he is able to save completely those who approach by him to God, always living to intercede for them.
26 Ya mere, ọ dị mkpa na anyị ga-enwe onyeisi nchụaja dị otu a, bụ onye dị nsọ, na onye na-enweghị ntụpọ, na onye dị ọcha, na onye e kewapụrụ site nʼebe ndị mmehie nọ, ma buliekwa ya elu karịa nʼeluigwe.
For such a high priest became us, holy, harmless, undefiled, separated from sinners, and become higher than the heavens:
27 Ọ dịghị ka ndịisi nchụaja ndị ọzọ, nʼihi na ọ dịghị mkpa na ọ ga-achụ aja kwa ụbọchị, nʼihi mmehie nke aka ya, na nʼihi mmehie nke ndị ọzọ. Naanị otu aja nke dịrị mgbe niile ka ọ chụrụ maka mmehie mgbe o weere onwe ya nye dị ka aja.
who has not day by day need, as the high priests, first to offer up sacrifices for his own sins, then [for] those of the people; for this he did once for all [in] having offered up himself.
For the law constitutes men high priests, having infirmity; but the word of the swearing of the oath which [is] after the law, a Son perfected for ever. (aiōn g165)
