1 Nke a bụ akụkọ banyere usoro agbụrụ Ịsọ, onye a na-akpọ Edọm.
And these [are] the generations of Esau; this is Edom.
2 Ịsọ lụrụ ndị inyom a site nʼala Kenan. Onye nke mbụ bụ Ada nwa Elọn, onye Het. Nke abụọ bụ Oholibama, nwa Ana, nwa nwa Zibiọn, onye Hiv.
And Esau took to himself wives of the daughters of the Chananites; Ada, the daughter of Aelom the Chettite; and Olibema, daughter of Ana the son of Sebegon, the Evite;
3 Onye nke atọ bụ Basemat, nwa Ishmel, onye nwanne ya nwanyị bụ Nebaiot.
and Basemath, daughter of Ismael, sister of Nabaioth.
4 Ada mụụrụ Ịsọ Elifaz, ebe Basemat mụrụ Reuel.
And Ada bore to him Eliphas; and Basemath bore Raguel.
5 Oholibama mụtaara Jeush na Jalam na Kora. Ndị a bụ ụmụ Ịsọ ndị a mụtara ya nʼala Kenan.
And Olibema bore Jeus, and Jeglom, and Core; these [are] the sons of Esau, which were born to him in the land of Chanaan.
6 Emesịa, Ịsọ duuru ndị nwunye ya na ụmụ ya ndị ikom na ndị inyom, na ndị niile nọ nʼezinaụlọ ya. Ọ chịkọọrọ anụ ụlọ ya niile, na akụ niile ọ kpatara nʼala Kenan kwapụ gaa biri nʼala dị anya site nʼebe nwanne ya Jekọb nọ.
And Esau took his wives, and his sons, and his daughters, and all the persons of his house, and all his possessions, and all his cattle, and all that he had got, and all things whatever he had acquired in the land of Chanaan; and Esau went forth from the land of Chanaan, from the face of his brother Jacob.
7 Ebe ọ bụ na akụnụba ha nwere dịkarịrị ukwuu ha ibikọta ọnụ, tinyekwara na ala ebe ha bi enwezighị ike ibuli ha nʼihi anụ ụlọ niile ha nwere.
For their substance was too great for them to dwell together; and the land of their sojourning could not bear them, because of the abundance of their possessions.
8 Ya mere, Ịsọ gara biri nʼala ugwu ugwu Sia, Ịsọ bụkwa Edọm.
And Esau lived in mount Seir; Esau, he is Edom.

And these [are] the generations of Esau, the father of Edom in the mount Seir.

And these [are] the names of the sons of Esau. Eliphas, the son of Ada, the wife of Esau; and Raguel, the son of Basemath, wife of Esau.

And the sons of Eliphas were Thaeman, Omar, Sophar, Gothom, and Kenez.
12 Elifaz nwa Ịsọ nwere iko nwanyị aha ya bụ Timna, onye mụtaara ya Amalek. Ndị a niile bụ ụmụ ndị ikom Ada, nwunye Ịsọ.
And Thamna was a concubine of Eliphaz, the son of Esau; and she bore Amalec to Eliphas. These [are] the sons of Ada, the wife of Esau.
13 Ụmụ ndị ikom Reuel bụ, Nahat, Zera, Shama na Miza. Ndị a niile bụ ụmụ ụmụ Basemat, nwunye Ịsọ.
And these [are] the sons of Raguel; Nachoth, Zare, Some, and Moze. These were the sons of Basemath, wife of Esau.
14 Ndị a bụ ụmụ Oholibama, nwunye Ịsọ. Oholibama bụ nwa Ana na nwa nwa Zibiọn. Ọ mụtaara Ịsọ Jeush, Jalam na Kora.
And these [are] the sons of Olibema, the daughter of Ana, the son of Sebegon, the wife of Esau; and she bore to Esau, Jeus, and Jeglom, and Core.

These [are] the chiefs of the son of Esau, [even] the sons of Eliphas, the firstborn of Esau; chief Thaeman, chief Omar, chief Sophar, chief Kenez,
16 Ọnụmara Kora, ọnụmara Gatam na ọnụmara Amalek. Ndị eze ndị a bụ ụmụ Elifaz nʼala Edọm. Ha bụ ụmụ ụmụ Ada.
chief Core, chief Gothom, chief Amalec. These [are] the chiefs of Eliphas, in the land of Edom; these are the sons of Ada.
17 Ndị bụ ụmụ Reuel, nwa Ịsọ, e nwere ọnụmara Nahat, ọnụmara Zera, ọnụmara Shama, ọnụmara Miza. Ọnụmara ndị a bụ ụmụ Reuel nʼala Edọm. Ha bụ ụmụ Basemat, nwunye Ịsọ.
And these [are] the sons of Raguel, the son of Esau; chief Nachoth, chief Zare, chief Some, chief Moze. These [are] the chiefs of Raguel, in the land of Edom; these are the sons of Basemath, wife of Esau.
18 Ndị a bụ ụmụ Oholibama, nwunye Ịsọ, ọnụmara Jeush, ọnụmara Jalam, na ọnụmara Kora. Ndị a bụ ọnụmara ụmụ Oholibama nwa Ana, nwunye Ịsọ.
And these [are] the sons of Olibema, wife of Esau; chief Jeus, chief Jeglom, chief Core. These [are] the chiefs of Olibema, daughter of Ana, wife of Esau.
19 Ndị a niile bụ ụmụ ndị ikom Ịsọ (ya bụ, Edọm). Ndị a bụkwa ọnụmara ha.
These [are] the sons of Esau, and these are the chiefs; these are the sons of Edom.
20 Ndị a bụ ụmụ ndị ikom Sia onye Hor, ndị bi nʼakụkụ ala ahụ: Lotan, Shobal, Zibiọn, Ana,
And these [are] the sons of Seir, the Chorrhite, who inhabited the land; Lotan, Sobal, Sebegon, Ana,
21 Dishọn, Eza na Dishan. Ụmụ ndị ikom Sia nʼala Edọm, ha bụ ndị ọnụmara Hor.
and Deson, and Asar, and Rison. These [are] the chiefs of the Chorrhite, the son of Seir, in the land of Edom.
22 Ụmụ ndị ikom Lotan bụ, Hori na Homam. Timna bụkwa nwanne nwanyị Lotan.
And the sons of Lotan [were] Chorrhi and Haeman; and the sister of Lotan, Thamna.
23 Ụmụ ndị ikom Shobal bụ, Alvan, Manahat, Ebal, Shefo na Onam.
And these [are] the sons of Sobal; Golam, and Manachath, and Gaebel, and Sophar, and Omar.
24 Ụmụ ndị ikom Zibiọn mụrụ bụ Aịa na Ana. Ana bụ nwoke ahụ chọpụtara isi iyi mmiri ime ala ahụ nke mmiri dị ọkụ si nʼime ya na-asọpụta nʼọzara, mgbe ọ na-elekọta ịnyịnya ibu nna ya Zibiọn.
And these [are] the sons of Sebegon; Aie, and Ana; this is the Ana who found Jamin in the wilderness, when he tended the beasts of his father Sebegon.

And these [are] the sons of Ana; Deson—and Olibema [was] daughter of Ana.

And these [are] the sons of Deson; Amada, and Asban, and Ithran, and Charrhan.

And these [are] the sons of Asar; Balaam, and Zucam, and Jucam.
28 Ụmụ ndị ikom Dishan bụ, Uz na Aran.
And these [are] the sons of Rison; Hos, and Aran.
29 Ndị a bụ ndị ọnụmara Hor, ọnụmara Lotan, ọnụmara Shobal, ọnụmara Zibiọn, ọnụmara Ana,
And these [are] the chiefs of Chorri; chief Lotan, chief Sobal, chief Sebegon, chief Ana,
30 ọnụmara Dishọn, ọnụmara Eza na ọnụmara Dishan. Ndị a niile bụ ndị ọnụmara Hor dịka nkewa ha si dị nʼala Sia.
chief Deson, chief Asar, chief Rison. These [are] the chiefs of Chorri, in their principalities in the land of Edom.
31 Ndị a bụ ndị eze chịrị nʼEdọm tupu ndị Izrel enwee eze mbụ ha.
these [are] the kings which reigned in Edom, before a king reigned in Israel.
32 Bela, nwa Beoa chịrị dịka eze nʼEdọm. Isi obodo ya bụ Dinhaba.
And Balac, son of Beor, reigned in Edom; and the name of his city [was] Dennaba.
33 Mgbe Bela nwụrụ, Jobab nwa Zera onye Bozra nọchiri ya dịka eze.
And Balac died; and Jobab, son of Zara, from Bosorrha reigned in his stead.
34 Mgbe Jobab nwụrụ, Husham onye si nʼala Teman nọchiri ya dịka eze.
And Jobab died; and Asom, from the land of the Thaemanites, reigned in his stead.
35 Mgbe Husham nwụrụ, Hadad nwa Bedad, onye meriri ndị Midia nʼagha nʼala Moab nọchiri dịka eze. Isi obodo ya bụ Avit.
And Asom died; and Adad son of Barad, who cut off Madiam in the plain of Moab, ruled in his stead; and the name of his city was Getthaim.
36 Mgbe Hadad nwụrụ, Samla onye Masrika nọchiri ya dịka eze.
And Adad died; and Samada of Massecca reigned in his stead.
37 Mgbe Samla nwụrụ, Shaul onye sitere na Rehobọt dị nʼakụkụ osimiri nọchiri ya dịka eze.
Samada died; and Saul of Rhooboth by the river reigned in his stead.
38 Mgbe Shaul nwụrụ, Baal-Hanan nwa Akboa nọchiri ya dịka eze.
And Saul died; and Ballenon the son of Achobor reigned in his stead.
39 Mgbe Baal-Hanan nwa Akboa nwụrụ, Heda nọchiri ya dịka eze. Aha obodo ya bụ Pau. Aha nwunye ya bụ Mehetabel, nwa Matred nwa nwa Mezahab.
And Ballenon the son of Achobor died; and Arad the son of Barad reigned in his stead; and the name of his city was Phogor; and the name of his wife was Metebeel, daughter of Matraith, son of Maizoob.
40 Ndị a bụ ndịisi ọnụmara Ịsọ, dịka aha ha si dị, dịka ikwu ha na akụkụ ebe ha bi si dị: Timna, Alva, Jetet,
These [are] the names of the chiefs of Esau, in their tribes, according to their place, in their countries, and in their nations; chief Thamna, chief Gola, chief Jether,
41 Oholibama, Elaa, Pinon,
chief Olibema, chief Helas, chief Phinon,
42 Kenaz, Teman, Mibza,
chief Kenez, chief Thaeman, chief Mazar,
43 Magdiel na Iram. Ndị a bụ ndịisi ọnụmara nʼEdọm, dịka ebe obibi ha na ala obi ha si dị. Nke a bụ ezinaụlọ Ịsọ bụkwa nna ndị Edọm.
chief Magediel, chief Zaphoin. These are the chiefs of Edom in their dwelling-places in the land of their possession; this is Esau, the father of Edom.
