< Izikiel 15 >
1 Okwu Onyenwe anyị ruru m ntị, sị,
A message from the Lord came to me, saying,
2 “Nwa nke mmadụ, olee, ụzọ osisi vaịnị si pụọ iche site nʼalaka osisi ndị ọzọ dị nʼime oke ọhịa?
“Son of man, is wood from a vine better than the wood from any other tree in the forest?
3 A na-esi nʼime osisi ya were mepụta ihe ọbụla bara uru? Ọ bụ site na ya ka a na-esi emepụta osisi nke e ji ekonye ihe?
Can you make anything useful from vine wood? Can you use it to make even just a peg to hang up pots and pans?
4 Uru ha bara bụ iji ha menye ọkụ. Ma mgbe isi ya abụọ repịara, mgbe etiti ya rekwara ọkụ, o nwere ihe ọzọ mmadụ nwere ike iji ya mee?
No, you just throw it on the fire to keep the fire burning. Even then the fire burns both ends, but only chars the middle part. Can you use it for anything?
5 Ọ bụrụ na ọ baghị uru mgbe o zuruoke, a ga-esi aṅa were ya mepụta ihe bara uru mgbe ọkụ repịasịrịla ya, ọ ghọọ unyi?
Even before you burned it you couldn't make it into anything useful. It's even less useful once the fire has burned and charred it!
6 “Nʼihi ya, ihe ndị a ka Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị na-ekwu, dịka m sitere nʼetiti ọhịa niile wepụta osisi vaịnị nye ka ọ bụrụ nkụ e ji emenye ọkụ, otu a ka m ga-esi mesoo ndị bi na Jerusalem.
So this is what the Lord God says: In the same way that I have taken the wood of a vine from the forest and thrown it on the fire to be burned, so I'm going to throw away the people of Jerusalem.
I will turn against them. While they might have escaped this fire, another fire is going to burn them up. When I turn against them, then you will know that I am the Lord.
8 Aga m emekwa ka ala ha tọgbọrọ nʼefu, nʼihi na ha bụ ndị na-ekwesighị ntụkwasị obi. Otu a ka Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị kwubiri.”
I'm going to turn the country into a wasteland, because they were unfaithful to me, declares the Lord God.”
