< Izikiel 14 >

1 Ụfọdụ nʼime ndị okenye Izrel bịakwutere m, nọdụ ala nʼihu m.
Some elders of Israel arrived and sat down with me.
2 Mgbe ahụ okwu Onyenwe anyị ruru m ntị,
A message from the Lord came to me, saying,
“Son of man, these men are worshiping idols in their minds even though they know this will lead them to sin. Why should I respond to their requests?
4 Ya mere, gwa ha okwu sị ha ‘Nke a bụ ihe Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị kwuru: Mgbe onye Izrel ọbụla na-agbaso arụsị nʼobi ya, nke na-ekwekwa ka arụsị ndị a na-eduba ya na mmehie, bịakwutere onye amụma ịjụta ya ase, mụ onwe m bụ Onyenwe anyị ga-aza onye ahụ dịka o si dị, ya bụ dịka ịba ụba nke arụsị ya niile si dị.
So tell them that this is what the Lord God says: When the people of Israel worship idols in their minds that will lead them to sin, and then come to consult the prophet, I the Lord will give them an answer appropriate to their many idols.
5 Nʼụzọ dị otu a ka m ga-esi nwetaghachikwa obi ndị Izrel niile bụ ndị si nʼebe m nọ wezuga onwe ha, ma malite ife arụsị.’
Like this I might have the people of Israel decide to recommit themselves to me. Right now, because of their idols, all of them treat me as their enemy.
6 “Nʼihi ya, gwa ụlọ Izrel, ‘Ihe ndị a ka Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị na-ekwu, Chegharịanụ! Sitenụ nʼife arụsị unu niile chigharịa, jukwanụ omume unu niile rụrụ arụ.
So tell the people of Israel that this is what the Lord God says: Repent! Give up worshiping your idols Stop all your disgusting practices.
7 “‘Nʼihi na onye ọbụla nʼụlọ Izrel maọbụ onye ọbụla nʼime ndị ọbịa bi nʼala Izrel, nke kewapụrụ onwe ya site nʼiso m, si otu a mee ka arụsị ọ na-efe baa ya nʼobi, nke na-etinye ihe ịsọ ngọngọ ajọ omume nʼihu ha, mechaa, gakwuru onye amụma maka isite nʼaka ya ịjụta m ase, mụ onwe m bụ Onyenwe anyị ga-azaghachi ha.
When the people of Israel or foreigners living with them worship idols in their minds that will lead them to sin and then come to consult the prophet, I the Lord will answer them myself.
8 Aga m edokwa onwe m imegide ha, mee ka ha bụrụ ihe ịmaatụ na ilu nye ndị ọzọ. Aga m esitekwa nʼetiti ndị m wezuga ha. Mgbe ahụ, unu ga-amata na mụ onwe m bụ Onyenwe anyị.
I will oppose anyone who does this and make any example of them that others will talk about. I will remove them from among my people. Then you will know that I am the Lord.
9 “‘Ọ bụrụ na arafuo onye amụma ahụ ka o buo amụma, ọ bụ mụ onwe m bụ Onyenwe anyị rafuru onye amụma ahụ. Aga m esetipụ aka m megide ya, bipụkwa ya site nʼetiti ndị m, bụ Izrel.
But if the prophet is deceived into giving a message, it was I the Lord who deceived him to do this. I will still reach out and destroy that prophet from my people Israel.
10 Ha ga-ata ahụhụ nʼihi mmehie ikpe ọmụma ha, dịka ikpe ọmụma dịrị onye na-ajụ ase, otu a ka ọ ga-adịkwa nye onye amụma ụgha ahụ.
They will be responsible for the punishment they receive, as will those who believe in these prophets will receive the same punishment.
11 Mgbe ahụ, ụmụ Izrel agaghị esitekwa nʼiso m kpafuo ọzọ. Ha agakwaghị eji mmehie merụọ onwe ha, kama ha ga-abụ ndị m, mụ onwe m ga-abụkwa Chineke ha. Otu a ka Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị kwupụtara ya.’”
This is so that the people of Israel won't abandon me anymore and won't make themselves unclean with all their sins. Then they will be my people and I will be their God, declares the Lord God.”
12 Okwu Onyenwe anyị ruru m ntị, sị,
A message from the Lord came to me again, saying,
13 “Nwa nke mmadụ, ọ bụrụ na ndị bi nʼala emehie megide m, site nʼekwesighị ntụkwasị obi ha, ọ bụrụ na m esetipụ aka m mee ka oke ụnwụ bịakwasị ha, ọ bụrụkwa na m emee ka mmadụ na anụmanụ niile dị nʼala a nwụchasịa,
“Son of man, if a people in a country sin against me by being unfaithful to me, then I will act against them by cutting off their food supply, so they experience famine, with no food for people or animals.
Even if Noah, Daniel, and Job, these three men, were present their good lives would only save themselves, declares the Lord God.
15 “Asị na m eziga anụ ọhịa ọjọọ ka ha bịa bibie ala ahụ, mee ka ọ ghọọ ebe tọgbọrọ nʼefu meekwa ka mmadụ ọbụla ghara ị site nʼime ya gafee nʼihi anụ ọhịa ndị ahụ,
I could send wild animals rampaging through the country, so they would leave it uninhabited and desolate, a place no one would travel through for fear of such animals.
As I live, declares the Lord God, even if these three men were present, they couldn't save their own sons or daughters. They would only save themselves, but the land would be left desolate.
17 “Ọ bụrụ na a sị na m mere ka mma agha bịakwasị ala ahụ, m sị, ‘Ka mma agha gabiga site nʼala ahụ niile gburugburu,’ ma gbuo mmadụ na anụmanụ niile dị nʼime ya,
I could bring war to that country and say, ‘Have a sword cut through it,’ so that I destroy both people and animals.
18 dịka m na-adị ndụ, otu a ka Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị kwubiri, a sịkwarị na ndị ikom atọ ndị a nọ nʼala ahụ, ha agaghị anapụta ụmụ ndị ikom na ụmụ ha ndị inyom site nʼịla nʼiyi. Kama, ọ bụ naanị ha onwe ha ka a ga-anapụta.
As I live, declares the Lord God, even if these three men were present, they couldn't save their own sons or daughters. They would only save themselves.
19 “Ọzọkwa, ọ bụrụ na m eziga oke iwe m site nʼajọ ọrịa na-efe efe, ọ bụrụ na ọrịa ahụ egbuo mmadụ na anụmanụ ha niile,
I could send a disease on that country and because of my anger I would kill many, both people and animals.
20 dịka m na-adị ndụ, otu a ka Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị kwubiri, a sịkwa na Noa, Daniel na Job bi nʼime ya, ha agaghị anapụta ụmụ ha ndị ikom maọbụ ndị inyom site nʼịla nʼiyi. Ha ga-azọpụta naanị onwe ha nʼezi omume ha.
As I live, declares the Lord God, even if Noah, Daniel, and Job were present, they couldn't save their sons or daughters. Their good lives would only save themselves.
21 “Nʼihi na otu a ka Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị kwuru, a ga-esi aṅaa napụta ya, mgbe m zipụrụ ụzọ ikpe m anọ dị oke egwu nke na-echere Jerusalem. Ikpe ndị a bụ: mma agha na ụnwụ, anụ ọhịa ọjọọ na-adọgbu adọgbu na ọrịa na-efe efe, ka ha gbuchapụ mmadụ na anụmanụ niile dị nʼime ya.
This is what the Lord God says: It will be so much worse when I send my four severe judgments against Jerusalem—war, famine, wild animals, and disease, so that both people and animals are killed!
22 Ma a ga-enweta ụfọdụ ndị ga-afọdụ ndụ, bụ ụmụ unu ndị nwoke na ndị nwanyị, ndị a ga-anapụta site nʼahụhụ ndị a. Ha ga-abịakwute unu. Mgbe unu hụrụ omume ha, na obibi ndụ ha, ha ga-abụrụ unu ihe nkasiobi nʼihi na unu ga-esite na ha mata ụdị mbibi nke m mere ka ọ bịakwasị Jerusalem.
Even so a few of them will survive, some sons and daughters who will be taken captive. They will be brought to you in Babylon, and when you realize what they did and how they acted, you will understand why I had to bring such a disaster down on Jerusalem—everything I did to it.
23 A ga-akasịkwa unu obi mgbe unu hụrụ omume ha na obibi ndụ ha, unu ga-amatakwa na ọ bụghị nʼefu ka m mere ka ihe ndị a niile dakwasị ha.” Otu a ka Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị kwubiri ya.
Realizing what they did and how they acted will help you to see that I had good reasons to do everything I did to Jerusalem, declares the Lord God.”
