< Ọpụpụ 33 >
1 Onyenwe anyị gwara Mosis okwu sị, “Duru ndị a i si nʼala Ijipt kpọpụta baa nʼala ahụ m kwere Ebraham, na Aịzik na Jekọb na nkwa, nʼihi na agwara m ha sị, ‘Aga m enye ụmụ ụmụ unu ala a, ka ọ bụrụ ihe nketa ha.’
Yahweh said to Moses/me, “Leave this place and go with the people whom you led out of Egypt. Go to the land that I promised Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob that I would give to their descendants.
2 Aga m ezipu Mmụọ ozi m ka ọ gaa nʼihu unu chụpụrụ unu ndị Kenan, na ndị Amọrait, na ndị Het, na ndị Periz, na ndị Hiv, na ndị Jebus.
I will send my angel ahead of you all, and I will expel [from that land] the Canaan, Amor, Heth, Periz, Hiv, and Jebus people-groups.
3 Gbago nʼala mmiri ara ehi na mmanụ aṅụ na-eru na ya, ma agaghị m eso unu nʼije unu, nʼihi na unu bụ ndị isiike. Ọ bụrụ na m esoro unu, unu ga-anwa m ọnwụnwa, nke ga-eme ka m laa unu nʼiyi nʼụzọ.”
You will go to a land that will be very good for raising livestock and growing crops [IDM]. But I will not go with you myself, because [if I did that], I might get rid of you while you are traveling, because you are very stubborn [IDM] people.”
4 Mgbe ndị mmadụ ahụ nụrụ okwu olu ike ndị a, ha malitere iru ụjụ, ọ dịghịkwa onye ọbụla yinyere ihe ịchọ mma ya nʼahụ ha.
Yahweh said to Moses/me, “Tell the Israeli people, ‘You are very stubborn [IDM]. If I would go with you for even a moment, I would completely (get rid of you/wipe you out). Now take off your jewelry [to show that you are sorry for having sinned]. Then I will decide how I will punish you (OR, if I should punish you).’” So when Moses/I told to the people what God said, they started to mourn, and they all took off their jewelry.
5 Nʼihi na Onyenwe anyị agwala Mosis sị, “Gwa ụmụ Izrel, ‘Unu bụ ndị isiike. A sị na m nọ nʼetiti unu, otu ntabi anya ezuorola m ịla unu nʼiyi. Ugbu a, yipụnụ ihe ịchọ mma niile unu yi nʼahụ, aga m ekpebi ihe m ga-eme unu.’”
6 Ya mere, ndị Izrel yipụrụ ihe ịchọ mma ha niile. Nʼugwu Horeb ka ha nọ mgbe ihe ndị a mere.
After the Israeli people left Sinai Mountain, they did not wear jewelry any more.
7 Nʼoge a, Mosis na-ewere ụlọ ikwu manye nʼazụ ọmụma ụlọ ikwu, ọ na-akpọ ya ụlọ nzute. Ọ na-amanye ya nʼebe dị anya site nʼebe ụmụ Izrel mara ụlọ ikwu ha. Onye ọ bụla nke chọrọ ịjụta Onyenwe anyị ase, na-apụ, gaa nʼụlọ nzute ahụ nke dị nʼazụ ọmụma ụlọ ikwu.
[When the Israeli people traveled], whenever they stopped and set up their tents, Moses/I had them set up a tent outside the camp, far from the camp. I called it ‘the Sacred Tent where God and I talk together’. Everyone who wanted Yahweh to decide something for them would go out of the camp to the Sacred Tent.
8 Mgbe ọbụla Mosis na-aga nʼụlọ ikwu nzute ahụ, ndị Izrel niile na-apụta guzoro nʼọnụ ụzọ ụlọ ha, na-ele ya anya tutu Mosis abanye nʼụlọ ikwu ahụ.
Whenever Moses/I went out to the Sacred Tent, all the people would stand at the entrances of their tents and watch him/me until he/I had entered the Sacred Tent.
9 Mgbe ọ banyere nʼụlọ ikwu ahụ; ogidi igwe ojii ahụ na-abịa guzochie nʼọnụ ụzọ mgbe Onyenwe anyị na Mosis na-akparị ụka.
When Moses/I entered the Sacred Tent, the tall cloud that looked like a fire would come down and stay at the entrance of the Sacred Tent, and then Yahweh would talk with Moses/me.
10 Nʼoge ọbụla, ndị mmadụ hụrụ ogidi igwe ojii ahụ ka o guzo nʼọnụ ụzọ ụlọ ikwu nzute ahụ, ha onwe ha na-eguzokwa, onye ọbụla, nʼọnụ ụzọ ụlọ ikwu ha, kpọọ isiala.
When the people saw the tall cloud at the entrance of the Sacred Tent, they would all prostrate themselves on the ground and worship Yahweh.
11 Nʼime ụlọ nzute ahụ, Onyenwe anyị na-agwa Mosis okwu ihu na ihu, dịka mmadụ sị agwa enyi ya okwu. Mgbe ha kparịchara ụka, Mosis na-alọghachi azụ nʼebe ụmụ Izrel mara ụlọ ikwu ha. Ma nwokorobịa ahụ na-enyere ya aka, bụ Joshua, nwa Nun, na-anọgide nʼụlọ ikwu nzute ahụ.
Yahweh would speak to Moses/me directly, like someone speaks to his friend. Then Moses/I would return to the camp. But his/my young helper, Joshua, the son of Nun, stayed in the Sacred Tent.
Moses/I said to Yahweh, “It is true that you have told me, ‘Lead the people to the land [that I will show you],’ and you have said that you know me well and that you are pleased with me, but you have not told me whom you will send with me!
13 Biko, ọ bụrụ na o si otu a dị, zi m ụzọ gị, nke ga-eme ka m mata gị, gaakwa nʼihu inweta ihuọma site nʼebe ị nọ. Chetakwa na mba a dị ukwu bụ ndị gị.”
So now, if you are truly pleased with me, I ask you, tell me the things that you intend/plan to do, in order that I will know you [better] and continue to please you. Also, do not forget that the [Israeli] people are the people whom you chose to belong to you.”
14 Ọ zara sị, “Mụ onwe m ga-eso gị gaa, aga m enyekwa gị izuike.”
Yahweh replied, “I will go with you, and I will give you inner peace.”
15 Mgbe ahụ Mosis sịrị ya, “Ọ bụrụ na ị gaghị eso anyị nʼije a, ekwela ka anyị si nʼebe a zọpụ ụkwụ.
Moses/I replied, “If you do not go with me, do not force us to leave this place.
16 Ọ bụrụ na i soghị anyị, olee otu a ga-esi mata na mụ onwe m, na ndị gị achọtala ihuọma gị? Olee otu ọ ga-esi pụta ìhè na mụ na ndị gị bụ mba dị iche site na mba ndị ọzọ dị nʼụwa?”
The only way that [other] people will know that you are pleased with me and with your people is if you go with us [RHQ]! (If you go with us, [that will show that] we are different from all the other people on the earth./If you do not go with us, what will show that we are different from all the other people on the earth?)” [RHQ]
17 Ma Onyenwe anyị zara Mosis sị, “E, aga m eme ihe ị rịọrọ m, nʼihi na ị chọtala ihuọma m. Nʼezie, amara m onye ị bụ, marakwa aha gị.”
Yahweh replied to Moses/me, “What you have asked is exactly what I will do, because I know you well and I am pleased with you.”
18 Mgbe ahụ, Mosis rịọrọ sị, “Gosi m ebube gị.”
Then Moses/I said, “Please let me see your glorious presence!”
19 Ma Onyenwe anyị zara sị, “Aga m eme ka ị hụ ịdị mma m, aga m akọwakwara gị ihe aha m bụ Onyenwe anyị pụtara. Onye m chọrọ imere ebere ka m ga-emere ebere, ọ bụkwa onye m chọrọ imere ọmịiko ka m ga-enwere ọmịiko.
Yahweh replied, “I will let you see how great and glorious I am, and I will tell you clearly that my name is Yahweh. I will act very kindly and be merciful to all those whom I choose.
20 Ma ị pụghị ịhụ ihu m nʼihi na mmadụ ọbụla enweghị ike ịhụ ihu m ma dịrịkwa ndụ.”
But you are not allowed to see my face, because anyone who sees my face will (die/not continue to stay alive).
21 Mgbe ahụ, Onyenwe anyị sịrị, “Lee, e nwere ebe dị nso nʼakụkụ m, nʼelu nkume, ebe i nwere ike iguzo.
[But look]! Here is a place close to me where you can stand on a [large] rock.
22 Mgbe ebube m ga-agafe, aga m ezo gị nʼokpuru nkume, werekwa aka m kpuchie gị, tutu ruo mgbe m gafechara.
When my glorious presence comes past you, I will put you in a large crevice/opening in the rock, and I will cover your face with my hand until I have passed by.
23 Emesịa, aga m eweli aka m, ka i nwee ike ịhụ azụ m anya, ma ị pụghị ịhụ ihu m.”
Then I will take my hand away, and you will see my back, but you will not see my face.”
