In the dayes of Ahashuerosh (this is Ahashuerosh that reigned, from India euen vnto Ethiopia, ouer an hundreth, and seuen and twentie prouinces)
2 Nʼoge ahụ, isi ọchịchị obodo eze Sekses bụ Susa ebe ocheeze ya dịkwa.
In those dayes when the King Ahashuerosh sate on his throne, which was in the palace of Shushan,
3 Nʼafọ nke atọ nke ọchịchị ya, o mere mmemme oke oriri nye ndịisi ọrụ ya niile. Ndị ọzọ ọ kpọkwara bụ ndịisi agha nke Peshịa na Midia, na ụmụ eze, na ndị ọchịchị sitere na mba dị iche iche ọ na-achị.
In the third yeere of his reigne, he made a feast vnto all his princes and his seruants, euen the power of Persia and Media, and to the captaines and gouernours of the prouinces which were before him,
4 Mmemme a were otu narị na iri ụbọchị asatọ. Eze jikwa oge a gosi akụnụba, na ịma mma na ebube nke alaeze ya.
That he might shewe the riches and glorie of his kingdome, and the honour of his great maiestie many dayes, euen an hundreth and foure score dayes.
5 Mgbe ụbọchị ndị a gafesịrị, eze kpọrọ oke oriri nọrọ ụbọchị asaa nʼubi a gbara ogige dị nʼụlọeze, nye ndị niile nọ na Susa, site nʼonye ukwu ruo nʼonye nta.
And when these dayes were expired, the King made a feast to all the people that were founde in the palace of Shushan, both vnto great and small, seuen dayes, in the court of the garden of the Kings palace,
6 Ihe ịchọ mma e ji dozie ogige ahụ bụ ezi akwa mgbochi dị ọcha, nke e ji ogho ọcha kpaa na nke e jikwa ogho na-acha anụnụ anụnụ kpaa. Vnder an hanging of white, greene, and blue clothes, fastened with cordes of fine linen and purple, in siluer rings, and pillars of marble: the beds were of golde, and of siluer vpon a pauement of porphyre, and marble and alabaster, and blue colour.
7 E jikwa iko ọlaedo ṅụọ ihe ọṅụṅụ. Iko ọlaedo ọbụla e wepụtara nʼụbọchị ahụ dị iche nʼiche. O nweghị nke yiri ibe ya. E mekwara ka mmanya eze baa ụba dịka afọ ọma aka eze si dị.
And they gaue them drinke in vessels of golde, and changed vessel after vessel, and royall wine in abundance according to the power of the King.
8 E nyeghịkwa iwu ọbụla banyere iko mmanya ole mmadụ kwesiri ịṅụ kama ndị chọrọ ga-aṅụ dịka o si masị ha. Nʼihi na eze agwalarị ndịisi ozi ya na onye ọbụla kwesiri ịṅụ dịka o si chọọ.
And the drinking was by an order, none might compel: for so the King had appoynted vnto all the officers of his house, that they should do according to euery mans pleasure.
9 Nʼotu oge ahụ, eze nwanyị Vashti, kpọkwara oke oriri nye ụmụ nwanyị niile nọ nʼụlọeze, Sekses.
The Queene Vashti made a feast also for the women in the royall house of King Ahashuerosh.
10 Nʼụbọchị nke asaa, mgbe obi dị eze Sekses mma nʼihi mmanya ọ ṅụrụ, ọ nyere ndị onozi asaa ndị a na-ejere ya ozi iwu, ha bụ, Mehuman, na Bizta, na Habona, na Bigta, na Abagta, na Zeta, na Kakas,
Vpon the seuenth daye when the King was merie with wine, he commanded Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, and Abagtha, Zethar, and Carcas, the seuen eunuches, (that serued in the presence of King Ahashuerosh)
11 sị ha gaa kpọọ Vashti nwunye eze ka ọ bịakwute ya. Eze nyekwara iwu ka Vashti kpuru okpueze nʼisi ya, maka igosi ndị mmadụ niile na ndị a na-asọpụrụ nọ nʼebe ahụ ịma mma ya. Nʼihi na Vashti mara mma.
To bring Queene Vashti before the King with the crowne royall, that he might shewe the people and the princes her beautie: for shee was fayre to looke vpon.
12 Ma mgbe e mere ka ozi eze ruo ya ntị, eze nwanyị, bụ Vashti jụrụ ịbịa. Nke a mere ka iwe wee eze nke ukwuu.
But the Queene Vashti refused to come at the Kings worde, which he had giuen in charge to the eunuches: therefore the King was very angry, and his wrath kindled in him.

Then the King said to the wise men, that knew the times (for so was the Kings maner towards all that knew the law and the iudgement:
14 Ha bụkwa ndị na-anọkarị eze nso. Aha ha bụ Kashena, na Sheta, na Admata, na Tashish, na Meres, na Masena, na Memukan. A maara aha mmadụ asaa ndị a nʼala Midia na Peshịa. Ha bụ ndị na-aga nʼihu eze mgbe ọbụla ha chọrọ, bụrụkwa ndị dịkarịsịrị elu nʼalaeze ahụ.
And the next vnto him was Carshena, Shethar, Admatha, Tarshish, Meres, Marsena, and Memucan the seuen princes of Persia and Media, which sawe the Kings face, and sate the first in the kingdome)
15 Eze jụrụ sị, “Dịka iwu si dị, gịnị ka a ga-eme Vashti bụ nwunye eze nʼihi na o nupuru isi nʼiwu eze Sekses nyere nke o zigaara ya site nʼọnụ ndị onozi ya?”
What shall we do vnto the Queene Vashti according to the law, because she did not according to the worde of the King Ahashuerosh by the commission of the eunuches?
16 Memukan kwuchitere ọnụ ndị ọzọ sị, “Ihe Vashti nwunye eze mere jọrọ njọ. O mehiela eze, mehiekwa ndị ọchịchị niile, na ndị niile bi nʼakụkụ niile nke alaeze Sekses.
Then Memucan answered before the King and the Princes, The Queene Vashti hath not only done euill against the King, but against all the princes, and against all the people that are in all the prouinces of King Ahashuerosh.
17 Nʼihi na ndị inyom niile ga-amata ihe eze nwanyị mere, malite ilelị ndị di ha anya, ma na-ekwu sị, ‘Eze Sekses nyere Vashti nwunye ya iwu ka ọ bịa nʼihu ya, ma ọ jụrụ ịbịa.’
For the acte of the Queene shall come abroade vnto all women, so that they shall despise their husbands in their owne eyes, and shall say, The King Ahashuerosh comanded Vashti the Queene to be brought in before him, but she came not.
18 Nʼụbọchị taa ka ndị inyom ndịisi nke Peshịa na Midia, bụ ndị nụrụ banyere omume nwunye eze mere, ga-azakwa ndịisi ọchịchị alaeze gị nʼụzọ dị otu a. A ga-enwe nleda anya na esemokwu nʼala a mgbe niile.
So shall the princesses of Persia and Media this day say vnto all the Kings Princes, when they heare of the acte of the Queene: thus shall there be much despitefulnesse and wrath.
19 “Ya mere, ọ bụrụ na ọ masị eze, ya nye iwu, nke a ga-edepụta, ka ọ bụrụ iwu nʼala Peshịa na Midia, nke na-agaghị agbanwe, na Vashti agaghị abatakwa nʼihu eze Sekses ọzọ. Ka eze werekwa ọnọdụ eze nwanyị ahụ nye onye ọzọ ka ya mma.
If it please the King, let a royal decree proceede from him, and let it be written among the statutes of Persia, and Media, (and let it not be transgressed) that Vashti come no more before King Ahashuerosh: and let the King giue her royal estate vnto her companion that is better then she.
20 Ọ ga-erukwa na mgbe a gụpụtara iwu a eze nyere nʼakụkụ alaeze a niile, ndị inyom niile ga-asọpụrụ ndị di ha site nʼonye dịkarịsịrị nta nʼetiti ha ruo nʼonye dị ukwuu.”
And when the decree of the King which shalbe made, shalbe published throughout all his kingdome (though it be great) all the women shall giue their husbands honour, both great and small.
21 Eze na ndịisi ọchịchị ya nabatara ndụmọdụ a, nʼihi ya, eze mere ihe Memukan kwuru.
And this saying pleased the King and the princes, and the King did according to the worde of Memucan.
22 O zipụrụ akwụkwọ ozi a nye akụkụ niile a na-achị achị nke alaeze ahụ. E dekwara akwụkwọ ozi ahụ nʼasụsụ dị iche iche, na-ekwupụta nʼasụsụ ọbụla na nwoke ọbụla kwesiri ịbụ onye na-achị ezinaụlọ ya.
For he sent letters into all the prouinces of the King, into euery prouince according to the writing thereof, and to euery people after their language, that euery man should beare rule in his owne house, and that he should publish it in the language of that same people.
