< Ndị Efesọs 4 >

1 Ya mere, mụ onwe m bụ onye mkpọrọ nke Onyenwe anyị, na-arịọ unu ka unu bie ndụ kwesiri ọkpụkpọ nke a kpọrọ unu.
As a prisoner in the Lord, then, I urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling you have received:
2 Werekwanụ obi dị umeala niile na ịdị nwayọọ, na ndidi na-anagide ibe unu nʼịhụnanya.
with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love,
3 Nọọnụ nʼudo nʼetiti onwe unu gbalịakwanụ ime ka ịdị nʼotu unu dịgide nʼime Mmụọ Nsọ.
and with diligence to preserve the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
4 E nwere otu ahụ na otu Mmụọ, dị ka e siri kpọọ unu nʼotu olileanya nke dịịrị ọkpụkpọ a kpọrọ unu.
There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called;
5 Otu Onyenwe anyị dị, otu okwukwe na otu baptizim.
one Lord, one faith, one baptism;
6 Ọ bụkwa naanị otu Chineke dị onye bụ Nna ihe niile na onye na-achị ihe niile, na onye na-arụ ọrụ ya nʼime ihe niile, na-ebikwa nʼime ihe niile.
one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
7 Ma e nyere onye ọbụla amara dịka oke onyinye nke Kraịst siri dị.
Now to each one of us grace has been given according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
8 Nʼihi nke a, e kwuru, “Mgbe ọ rigoro gaa nʼelu, o duuru igwe ndị a dọtara nʼagha, nyekwa ụmụ mmadụ onyinye dị iche iche.”
This is why it says: “When He ascended on high, He led captives away, and gave gifts to men.”
What does “He ascended” mean, except that He also descended to the lower parts of the earth?
10 Onye ahụ si nʼelu rịdata bụkwa otu onye ahụ rigoro nʼeluigwe, ka o nwee ike mejuo ihe niile.)
He who descended is the very One who ascended above all the heavens, in order to fill all things.
11 O nyekwara ụfọdụ onyinye ị bụ ndị ozi, ụfọdụ ndị amụma, ụfọdụ ndị nkwusa oziọma, ụfọdụ ndị ụkọchukwu na ndị nkuzi.
And it was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers,
12 Nke a bụ maka ikwadobe ndị nsọ maka ọrụ nke ije ozi, iji wulite ahụ nke Kraịst;
to equip the saints for works of ministry and to build up the body of Christ,
13 tutu anyị niile abịa na nkwekọta banyere okwukwe anyị, na ọmụma ihe banyere ọkpara Chineke, bụrụ onye tozuru oke, ruo ọtụtụ nke ogogo na ozuzu oke nke Kraịst.
until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, as we mature to the full measure of the stature of Christ.
14 Mgbe ahụ anyị agaghị abụkwa ụmụntakịrị, ndị ikuku ozizi ọhụrụ dị iche iche na-ebugharị ihu na azụ dị ka ebili mmiri, na ịgha ụgha nke mmadụ, bụ ozizi na-esite nʼime aghụghọ nke ha ji echepụta nduhie.
Then we will no longer be infants, tossed about by the waves and carried around by every wind of teaching and by the clever cunning of men in their deceitful scheming.
15 Kama nʼikwu eziokwu site na mmụọ ịhụnanya, anyị ga-eto bụrụ ndị tozuru oke nʼakụkụ niile nʼime ya, bụ onye ahụ bụ isi, nke bụ Kraịst.
Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Christ Himself, who is the head.
16 Onye anụ ahụ niile, jikọtara ọnụ ma bụrụ otu, site na nkwonkwo niile nke na-enyezu ya nkwado, dịka akụkụ niile ọbụla na-arụ ọrụ ya nke ọma, na-esite nʼụzọ ahụ enyere akụkụ ndị ọzọ aka, ime ka ha too, nakwa iwuli ha elu site nʼịhụnanya.
From Him the whole body, fitted and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love through the work of each individual part.
So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking.
18 Ndị ọchịchịrị gbachiri nghọta ha. Ndị dị otu a enweghị oke na ndụ ahụ Chineke na-enye, nʼihi na obi ha mechiri emechi, ha adịghị aghọtakwa.
They are darkened in their understanding and alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardness of their hearts.
Having lost all sense of shame, they have given themselves over to sensuality for the practice of every kind of impurity, with a craving for more.
20 Ma nke a abụghị otu unu siri mụta Kraịst,
But this is not the way you came to know Christ.
Surely you heard of Him and were taught in Him—in keeping with the truth that is in Jesus—
22 Yipụnụ mmadụ ochie unu, nke mere ka unu na-ebi ndụ ọjọọ na mbụ, bụ mmadụ ochie ahụ nke jupụtara nʼagụụ ime ihe ọjọọ niile,
to put off your former way of life, your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires;
23 ka eme ka mmụọ nke uche unu dị ọhụrụ.
to be renewed in the spirit of your minds;
24 Ma yikwasịnụ onwe unu mmadụ ọhụrụ, nke e kere nʼụdịdị Chineke nʼezi omume nʼezie nakwa nʼịdị nsọ.
and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
25 Ya mere, wezuganụ ịgha ụgha, ka anyị niile kwuo eziokwu nye ndị agbataobi anyị, nʼihi na anyị niile bụ ndị e jikọtara nʼotu anụ ahụ.
Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one another.
26 Mgbe ị na-ewe iwe emehiekwala. Ekwela ka anyanwụ daa mgbe ị ka nọ na-ewe iwe.
“Be angry, yet do not sin.” Do not let the sun set upon your anger,
27 Enyela ekwensu ohere.
and do not give the devil a foothold.
He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing good with his own hands, that he may have something to share with the one in need.
29 Ka okwu rere ure ọbụla hapụ isite nʼọnụ unu pụta. Kama kwuonụ naanị ezi ihe nke ga-aba uru iwuli ndị ọzọ elu dịka mkpa ha si dị na iwetara ndị nụrụ ya ngọzị.
Let no unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building up the one in need and bringing grace to those who listen.
30 Unu akpasukwala Mmụọ Nsọ nke Chineke iwe, onye a kara unu akara nʼime ya maka ụbọchị nke mgbapụta.
And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, outcry and slander, along with every form of malice.
32 Nʼọnọdụ ihe ndị a niile, nweenụ obi ebere nʼebe ibe unu nọ. Gbagharanụ ibe unu dịka Chineke sitere nʼamara ya gbaghara unu nʼihi na unu bụ nke Kraịst.
Be kind and tenderhearted to one another, forgiving each other just as in Christ God forgave you.
